Okay..this place is amazing! Friends and I were getting off the Continental Divide Trail, and to be fair, we did have a little hiker hunger going on, but it was still incredible! Came for 11am brunch with a party of 5 on a Monday morning (1/2/12). Though it was full we waited only 5 minutes and were promptly seated. It has the small town cafe vibe, a place where you know you'll get solid breakfast fare, nothing super fancy, but incredibly tasty. I had the Mountain Lyon omelet with home fries and a biscuit and found it delicious. My companions felt the same. My father-in-law got blackberry cobbler (w/ cream on top) to share and it was DELIGHTFUL. Can't go wrong here! read more

It doesn't look like much from the outside but it has the BEST breakfast around!! They serve breakfast till close which is great. I always get the Eggs Benedict and they are cooked perfectly. Definitely worth getting off the highway for yummy food and large portions! The green chili is delicious and the hashbrowns are always crispy. I've never had something I don't like (current favorite is the breakfast tacos). The massive burrito and the huevos rancheros round out my top 3 favorites, but the french toast and pancakes are good too (I'm not a sweet breakfast person). read more

This is one of the only places in Summit County we'll eat at due to absolutely terrible service in our area. Service is fast and friendly. It's a diner and everything about that word rings true here. From a greasy spoon to a healthy salad, they have it all. The decor is totally odd and perfect. Hand-written signs and all. I order dishes not on their menu using ingredients I find throughout because I'm gluten-intolerant and a vegetarian. They are always very accommodating. This review is not about the food as that is consistently good; but rather about the staff. The staff has always been a little edgy even though very hometown which normally has been wonderful except for today. Unexpectedly as we sat down to have breakfast some bad news about a loss in our family came out when I was sitting eating with my niece and when the waitress came to take our order I had just burst into tears so she gave me space. We ordered, we got our food, and then we're sitting for about 10 minutes talking about the devastating news when the waitress came up to push us along straightforwardly telling us that "we on a wait" - insensitively telling us that we needed to leave. As much as I love this place I was mortified by the response and insensitivity. We will take our family meetings and repetitive breakfast elsewhere. read more

Mountain Lyon has one of the best breakfast burritos in Colorado smothered in pork green Chile. The flavor is off the charts good. Cheeseburger, club sandwich, steak and eggs, breakfast skillet it's all fantastic and the list goes on. This place is always packed lines out the door. You know it's good. This places is local supported local approved. Mountain Lyon I love you and so does this community please please think about renewing your lease. The town plans on doing a remodel of town and I heard that when they renovate the street that mountain Lyon is on that they will not renew there lease. I hope this is not true and if it is you will reconsider. You are a staple to all the ski bums, hard working people of the community and tourist alike.Everyone enjoys your establishment . What an amazing little place. Server and Host were great. Not the fake great many establishments manufacture with half smiles and catch phrases. This place employs happy people who tell stories and TALK to you. You'd think you were a regular even if it's your first time.( which for us it was) Best buffalo burger I've ever eaten. The service at the Mountain Lyon cafe is terrible. We live around the corner and have often gone there, but no more. Last time we were there I ordered the oatmeal and it was cold. This is not the first time that I have ordered food that was cold or ordered something that was not what I ordered. On top of the cold oatmeal our waitress was rude and acted like we were being an inconvience to her. We have given the Mountain Lyon several chances to "redeem" themselves. Unfortunately, it does not look like that is going to happen. The difficult thing is in the Silverthore/ Dillon area breakfast places are far and few between. Love to support local businesses, but would and have gotten better service at McDonalds. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere!!!!!!! read more

We came based on all the good reviews, yet this was about the worst experience we've ever had. Went for breakfast which seems like a safe bet. It was not. My boyfriend got sick after having the Eggs Benedict, and both of our meals were unappealing and barely warm. There seemed to be no dedicated manager, and utter chaos on the floor, even more chaos behind the counter. We sat at the small counter where there was no single waitstaff for the entire counter, so the person that waited on the person next to us could not help us nor others even if they were seated first. It seems too much was aired in front of customers that they should not see; including one young male staffer get practically harassed by a flirtatious female colleague (towel snapping at him - really?) while he continued to remain professional. It also seemed to be over 80 degrees inside which was uncomfortable for a dining experience. Will not return. read more

An excellent meal. The restaurant was fairly crowded on a Saturday morning, but as a party of one I was quickly seated at the counter. Coffee was ordered and brought right away, and my order of eggs benedict with potatoes o'brien was taken. The food was delivered quickly and was delicious. The hollandaise sauce was great, the portion of ham was hearty, and the potatoes were cooked perfectly. The service was excellent. My coffee was refilled several times, and my waitress ensured I was enjoying my meal but was not overbearing. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the price was very reasonable. started out very excited from reading other reviews. anyways was very hungry and decided to eat breakfast there. the only thing i really wanted was a cup of coffee or 6. well after waiting about 10 minutes we finally got to order. drinks came, no coffee. ok mistakes happen i can shrug it off. well the whole time i didn't have coffee i was watching a lady bussing tables and putting her fingers in cups with food and drinks to carry them. dropping them off in the kitchen and immediatley running food out to tables, no hand washing. very gross to me. (plus a great way to spread germs and diseases like hepatitis) anyways we got our food and it was typical cafe food not bad but not great. well then we got our waters refilled by a waitress with a carafe full of water. this water was tainted and tasted like dirty dish rag, almost made us throw up. at that point the meal was over. couldn't eat and just thought about what time my food poisoning was going to start. not gonna recommend this place, except maybe to the health department to give them a little check to get things back in line read more

Don't miss this gem of a cafe in Silverthorne! On my Uncle's recommendation, my husband and I stopped by this fantastic little place on a recent trip to Colorado. He had some sort of omelet with sausage and green chilies that was simply phenomenal! The perfect amount of spice and heat. And I ate every last morsel of my Southwest Hamburger and homemade potato chips. Out of this world!
