Mountain lake is a quaint and comfortable lodge with absolutely gorgeous views of Flathead lake. Be sure to book a first floor room with a hot tub in the colder months and a second floor room (200s and 300s) in the summer because those rooms have the best view of the lake. The winter is often very cloudy and grey so lake views aren't always the best but the indoor jetted tubs are totally worth it. Outside, they have an infinity pool, two hot tubs, a fire pit, and a small putting green. My stay there has always been relaxing, peaceful, and it's delightful to bask in the beauty. Their newly redesigned lodge and game room area is great for families and friends alike. Be sure to stop by Riley's pub for friendly service and tasty bar snacks and meals. WARNING: Ripoff. Stayed 3 nights. First, gOt email confirming reservation and checking after 4. At 7pm we get called while on rd (coming g in fron Salt lake) asking when we'd be arriving, and he/front desk usually leaves shortly after 8. Fine. Skipped dinner and headed in. Then someone's truck is parked in our assigned, clearly marked spot, the entire time. So we tell front desk (between hours of 8-8) and he says, yeah, people dont pay attention to them. So he tells us to park in a spot that has no reservations. The room: pubic and other hairs in jacuzzi, old stiff washcloth on the shower, no ligting in kitchenette to see, no lights on outside to see stairs, old phones from 80s, mold and peeling wallpaper in bathroom, old sock in closet, lukewarm hot tubs with scum, ice cold unheated pool. Can't close bedroom door because couch is in the way. Called to confirm before check in we would have a lake view from the room, he said absolutely yes, but you can only see a sliver of lake if you stand by front door, not even from seating, old food stains on tables. Paid over $900 for 3 weekday nights. WARNING: DONT GET SWINDLED. We considered going to econo lodge for more bang for our buck. Didn't complain, with soooo many issues i didn't trust anything they had to say. read more

I cannot rave about this quaint place enough. Only stayed one night as we travelled from Yellowstone to Glacier Park because I wanted to see Flathead Lake but I would have loved to stay longer Our cabin was huge inside....I really did not expect that with not only a large bathroom but a jacuzzi tub in our bedroom, a living room area and small kitchen area. Everything we needed Staff were really helpful and the property is lovely and in a perfect location This was the lowest priced hotel we stayed in on our whole trip but definitely my favorite Would recommend to friends and family for sure read more

Made reservations for a room with a jet tub and a lake view, well got the tub but the view was a side of another building couldn't see the lake at all.. I was trying to have a romantic weekend , so that was kinda disappointing we would of stayed longer but was disappointed on the view that I was expecting.. Didn't stay for food or anything. When we checked out the lady was kinda rude because I came in early to check out before 8 she informed me that she was supposed to lock the door and she wasn't taking people but she did it because I was already standing there. This stay was an "emergency" stay after our B&B stay in a cabin in Condon, MT was freezing so we didn't sleep well and had to leave. The room was one of the nicest, cleanest, most welcoming rooms I have ever stayed in (I am also an international traveler). Every desire was already foreseen -- various coffee types, robes, even a lighted tap in the vanity sink! The views were spectacular! The view overlooked the lake on one side, a lovely patio garden and pool on the other. At first I was thinking that it only seemed nice after our hellacious stay in the freezing cabin. We live here in north western Montana and had to find a place to stay for a couple days world while our power was out we thankfully came across Mountain Lake Lodge, and their staff operated above excellence from the front desk to honest cleaning service even the little pub, everybody was so friendly and welcoming. This is my experience and warning to other brides and grooms. I have waited months to write this because even now, it makes me feel upset and emotionally drained. On 10/9/2021 I called and spoke to a lady at the Mountain Lake Lodge to do a wedding block for 7/8/2022-7/10/2022. She said she had 8 rooms available; 2 rooms that were Ponderosa Suites ($348 nightly) and 6 rooms that were 2 queen beds and sofa bed ($294 nightly). She would put them on a wedding block and guests would use my name, to book them officially. She said she needed a card to set them aside but it would NOT be charged and only guests who officially booked the rooms would be charged. She explained that 30 days prior to 7/8/2022, if any rooms were NOT booked, then they would be released to the public and anyone else could book them. I wrote this information down as it was occurring to help keep track of details for our room blocks for our guests. I shared the information on my wedding website. Multiple guests of ours ended up staying at the lodge, but did not use our wedding block because they wanted to give other guests a chance to book the rooms prior to the 30 days if needed. The night before my wedding on 7/8/2022, I received a voicemail that stated that I needed to check in my 8 rooms before the receptionist left the front desk for the night. I called and explained the situation to a man that answered the phone, that I never booked the rooms. I was told it was a wedding block and that the rooms were supposed to be released to the public 30 days prior to this date. I was very surprised and overwhelmed by the information. The man I spoke to seemed also upset because he did not know how he would know it was a wedding block vs. me booking rooms, and I shared I didn't know how the system works but it seemed like common practice with other hotels we had blocked off and either way I did not want or was told I was officially booking them. He was grumpy and shared that the hotel turned away others and he'd have to call them back to fill the room. I apologized again and he hung up. I never received a call or information following this phone call. During this time, I should've canceled my card or followed up after I returned home from the rehearsal dinner and meeting with family, but I honestly was so overwhelmed with having the wedding that I went about the events and thought this was behind us. We returned home from being out of service from backpacking following right after our wedding, and when I checked my credit card statement, I was charged close to $2500 from Mountain Lake Lodge. I was astonished that I was charged for the rooms. We were astounded because we never were told we would be charged, which included the taxes and all the other fees, even though we never even used the rooms. If we had been told that we were going to be charged the rooms despite us not ever wanting to, we would have treated our whole wedding party and parents as a thank you and made the best use out of this situation. However, we were not even notified that the rooms weren't filled and we'd be charged full price! After pulling all of our money to host our dream wedding with the help of our families, it was so upsetting to have to use all of our gift money we had planned to use towards a true honeymoon and use the rest of our savings to pay off rooms we did not book, weren't notified we'd be charged, and weren't given an option to use them. When we reached out to the manager and owner, we were told basically that they don't block out rooms any more so I was mistaken with what I was during my original conversation, and that they wouldn't help any further. Overall, I'm sure the hotel and rooms are wonderful, but our experience to resolve this issue and be notified of the charges so we could make use out of the mistake, was met with no help. I would just caution any bride or groom to know that they do not block rooms for weddings in case they are told differently, and to be wary of having any guests make reservations. read more

I went to brunch here on Mother's day with my family. The set up was nice. It had a pretty good layout. However, they could not make a bloody mary to save their life. Horrible. The food was good and yet there were not a lot of people there and they ran out of things and it took at least 15-20 min to restock the buffet line. I do not understand that. Logistics are messed up and the back of the house is not coordinating and communication lacks. My niece spilled my coffee on me and someone from a table near me came running over with napkins. The staff never came and helped clean it up and I was there for at least another 20 minutes so there was a mess in front of me of darkened soggy napkins and my coffee was never refilled. In conclusion I would have to say the service lacked and the front and back of the house really need to get their stuff together. I will visit again and hope that the next time is better... The food was decent not stupendous be any means. I have to say if you are looking for a Sunday brunch this is as close as you will get to anything decent and that is sad especially for the price.... Was not very clean meaning there was trash under the sink and the floors were gross. Water pressure sucked in the room. Half the bulbs were burnt out. The listing said lake view for the room. Stayed here for a couple nights and was overall pleased with the accommodation. Checking in, the lady at the desk was very kind and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean, and had a fantastic view of Flathead Lake. There were also some nice touches like a couple mini-golf holes, a communal fire pit, and a great outdoor pool. Another plus is that they are dog friendly so our labradoodle Charlie was able to enjoy the stay with us. Additionally, we ate at the two restaurants attached to the lobby building and were satisfied with the food at both locations. The main reason I wanted to write this review was to compliment the honesty of the staff! When we checked out, I didn't realize that I had left my wallet in the room so we started driving away. Thankfully, we promptly received a call from the front desk informing us that the cleaning staff had found it so we were able to drive back and retrieve it. All my credit cards, IDs, gift cards, and 100+ dollars in cash were still inside. I am so grateful that they found it and notified me so quickly - I don't know what I would've done it we drove all the way back to Oregon without it! My only complaint would be with the breakfast that's served in the morning - for the room rate, it definitely feels like it should've been better. The options were very limited and there wasn't any warm food out. Still wanted to give five stars though since the quality of the staff made up for it! read more

We had the most wonderful three days at the Lodge. Great service, beautiful atmosphere, wonderful memories. The first night we sat around a lovely fire and shared stories. The second and third nights we were in the pool or playing volleyball or cornhole. Breakfast was great and the food in the pub was also delicious for dinner. Our kids said the pullout couch was hard but our bed was nice. I have only good things to say and I hope we can come back to this beautiful property soon. read more

We stayed in October 2019, the weather was good. It's a lovely hotel. The rooms are decorated in a low key country mountain theme, casual, clean, very comfortable. We had some problem getting the room we wanted, mostly because we were unfamiliar with the hotel and didn't really know what to ask for. They were helpful and courteous, and changed our room- for a better view , tho in Big Fork all the views are good. The owner happened to be in the breakfast room when we went to eat in the morning. Was staying one night with a friend as we had two days fishing planned. We arrived in time to catch the restaurant, 830pm or so. After we ate, went to get into our room. Dark outside and light off outside our room, Keys didn't work. Called the manager. They instructed us to return to the front to get a master key. Did that. Still didn't open the door. Went back and got all the master keys and one worked. We got into our room and it was a couples sweet. My friend and I booked a place with separate rooms, as we are not a couple. Decided it was too late to cause more fuss, so I pulled out the broken pull out bed. Looking for sheets, I discovered a couple stains on a couple blankets. We went in the hot tub, came back to the room where at 1130pm we were called to be informed we were in the wrong room. You don't say? As if we had something to do with it. Then someone showed up to tell us. I asked if our room was empty so my friend and I could have our own space, and they gave me the keys. Went to my room only to fall asleep to the sound of a smoke alarm going off nearby all night. I have video recording of it the next morning. The next day I asked for a free stay or small discount, anything really, just to show they understood they near totally ruined the one night away we had from work and family. I am not one to go out of my way to cause a fuss. Unless it's bad. Next day I got a voicemail with some fella telling me I must have had a bad dream, there was no alarm, and we already got our free room- my buddy stayed in it. Can you believe that? I just wanted them to show they understood, a simple few bucks back or few bucks off the next stay. Some way to run a business. read more

Nicest place to stay in the area! We had a great room with a King bed, jacuzzi, and fire place. The room was really big, confortable and clean. We only stayed one night but that was enough to know that we will return. The pool and hot tub were clean and the grounds were well kept. It would be a lovley place for a wedding wich I believe they do. The view of flathead lake is filtered but still nice. We did not get a chance to try there reaustrant, but hopefully next time. We stayed two nights for my brother's wedding nearby. We brought our dog and they had a dog bed set out for him when we got there. Our view was breathtaking. We had a putting green right out our front door, which the front desk provided us putters for. The food in the restaurant was phenomenal! The restaurant was just around the corner from our patio. We enjoyed steelhead fish with huckleberry Moscow mules while looking out over the lake with the mountains in the background. That night we soaked in the Jacuzzi. It was a very nice relaxing vacation. We felt like we were the ones on a honeymoon. I hope we get to go there again soon. read more

The room was attractive and clean with a nice view of the infinity pool and grounds. The room, for the most part, seemed clean. An unfortunate oversight was the previous guest's coffee cup left on mantle. I don't fault housekeeping-- I can see how that was left behind, but it was a bit off-putting. The room was supposed to include a continental breakfast, which they could not provide due to covid-19. That made sense, but they would not discount our room. The food has always been a disappointment for the price, this visit I had Fish & Chips dinner. It was over cooked and greasy. Menu prices are sky high for the low quality food they serve. This place was one of few we found with vacancy during planning out trip. And for good reason. What you save in money, they make up with in attitude. These people are a piece of work. But fine. Whatever. To what really matters--the beds and pillows are old and scratchy and the towels smell like dirty mop water. There are also spiders. We just recently stayed at this Lodge for a wedding. I have no complaints over the rooms, or the lawn or the pools. Everything was clean and spacious. I did think it was a little annoying that this place is a tourist town and they don't start breakfast until 7:30. We wanted to be on the road to go to Glacier national park early so we had to go to a diner for breakfast. It was a good thing we didn't wait, I was informed how puny the breakfast was, for $250 a night you would think there would at least be scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, something warm. I stayed at a Super 8 the night before and the breakfast was better. Also we wanted to turn our keys in and the lobby was still closed at 7, Thought that was a little strange. read more

Very unpleasant experience at restaurant August 2010. Made reservations for three with my husband, who is Native and mother. Reservations confirmed, we arrived a few minutes early. Long unpleasant stares at my husband. Were told another party had not left yet,but restaurant was not full. Waited and waited, alone in the hotel lobby. Finally, after 45 minutes, were told the party was not leaving soon adn we should just eat some where else as we would not be served. There are wonderful places to eat in Bigfork that do not treat Natives this way.I would recommend somewhere else for certain. read more

Really disappointed all around. We got there at 9pm due to getting a bit lost, and the front desk was closed so we had to talk to an answering service. They knew nothing about the area, so couldn't help us find food. The convenience store across the street sent us back to Bigfork and we got Dairy Queen with less than 5 minutes to spare before closing. The room did NOT have the expansive view of the lake like the brochure promised, we could only see a little bit of it over the full bank of fir trees, and we were in the top unit! In the morning, the woman at the front desk didn't talk to me, wasn't friendly at all, and finally when she gave me my slip to sign asked me how everything was. When I tried to mention what had happened the night before, she snapped at me "Of course everything is closed!" and argued with me when I mentioned getting hamburgers "There is no Burger King! (I said the wrong chain)" She actually snapped at me both times like I was a child!! No apology, no care, nothing. I actually had to say to her that all I was saying is it was difficult coming here tired and after hours and not being able to reach a local who could help us PAYING CUSTOMERS find some food. This is the only time in Montana we had rude service. Very poor representative of a place that bills itself very differently. read more
