Not us! We stayed in a tent (with a wooden floor, not dirt as Native Americans had). Two twin beds had a lot of bed covers, so though temperature dropped to low fifties at night, we were cozy and comfortable. Tent interior was clean, artful and hospitable. The port-a-pottie required sort of a hike, especially if need arises in mid of night, but also clean and well maintained. We saw deer, bison and plenty of birds around. Ranch also offers horses for trail rides. Main building had the usual souvenirs for the traveler to buy. Eating area had walls covered in photos of authentic cowboys and Indians (although I don't call John Wayne an authentic cowboy...) . Breakfast menu was extensive, portions heaping, hot and really filling. We did not got opportunity to try dinner menu, but believe it was similarly good. Staff was really helpful and attentive. Montana is quite far from our home, but if road will ever take us back to Kalispell, we definitely will be happy campers yet again!

The rates were good for the areas and it was about a 40 min drive to Glacier National Park. The location is on the more industrial side of town. It is located right next to a recycling center. If you have an even # room you will face it. We stayed in 329 and had a nice view of the mountains. Check in was smooth. All the front desk employees were very nice and helpful. They were wearing masks (during Covid) and there was a plastic screen in front of the register. The room was clean and large. Everything worked well. The front desk provided breakfast, they gave you a list of things and you could ask for whatever you wanted. I saw 2 housekeepers during our stay and neither were wearing masks in the guests rooms which I didn't prefer. Bring quarters if you want to do laundry. There was 1 washer and 2 dryers. The king bed was very soft, too soft, we sank in a lot. The pool was closed during our stay due to Covid. Overall it was a good stay.

While my 78-year-old grandfather (approximately 150 lbs.) was using the shower seat, it collapsed beneath him, causing him to fall and injure his back. Despite the injury the priority was getting him to his scheduled cancer surgery, for obvious reasons, but my grandmother reported the incident to the manager afterward. Instead of documenting what happened, she was told, "The chair was working before you entered the room," and the manager refused to complete an incident report. Regardless of whether the chair appeared functional beforehand, an ADA shower seat should not collapse under a frail elderly guest. The lack of concern and refusal to document the incident was extremely disappointing. I hope the hotel inspects and replaces the chair before someone else is seriously injured. The most disappointing part wasn't just the chair collapsing, it was the manager's dismissive response and refusal to document the incident. What is more concerning was the managers immediate dismissal regarding failed safety equipment which they are responsible to inspect and maintain. If you're booking an accessible room with the expectation of safe equipment, I would inspect it before use. Based on our experience, I cannot in good faith recommend this hotel. There are far better hotels in Kalispell that provide a much higher level of customer service as someone who regularly utilizes hotel services in Kalispell.

A few of our out-of-town guests were staying at Somers Bay Log Cabin and to be honest they location was PERFECT since it was just right down the street from the neighborhood that we were getting married at. I thought they might be booked up already for June but still went in to try my luck early April. That's when I met Tia, their property manager. I explained to her my situation and that I really just needed a temporary spot during the day for my girls and I to get our hair and make up done. She checked her calendar and somehow was able to work her magic and squeezed a cabin just for our bridal party to get ready at. She even gave me a choice of booking for the night before or just that morning of at a discounted rate. I chose latter for the logistical convenience of that morning otherwise I'd love to spend a night at their cozy cabin! I was almost in tears that day when talking to Tia and I told her she had no idea how much weight she has lifted off my shoulder just thinking about this morning of location dilemma. To top it off, she even said it was okay for us to take some of our wedding photos onsite because have you seen how GORGEOUS their property is?! Tia is super sweet and courteous! The owners of the Somers Bay Log Cabin is very lucky to have her! I love that she puts her customers first and this is why we highly recommend Somers Bay Log Cabin if you are planning your Flathead Valley stay! Oh and did I mention that their gorgeous property is just right across from the Flathead Lake? I mean, the lake is literally a few steps away! It doesn't matter if you go during summer or winter, the sceneries are breathtaking regardless! All of our wedding guests who stayed there really enjoyed the cabin life, sipping their coffee in the morning on the front porch while looking over at the lake! Nice little kitchenette with a small stove, fridge and microwave. There is WiFi but it was not very strong in our cabin. (our friends were in cabin #6 and they had a strong signal) There is tv in the cabin with cable, but we never used it. We were in town attending a wedding at the Rack Shack, so the cabins were a great choice as we did not have to do any driving after the reception. There is also a great walking trail across the highway from the cabins, along Flathead Lake. We walked the mile or so into Somers each day to eat at the Somers Bay Cafe. Just be careful crossing the highway. Only downside of the entire stay was the highway noise, which can be pretty intrusive if you sleep with the windows open. Not sure I would ever stay at the cabins that are closer to the highway. (Cabins 1 and 12) There was also noise one night from a loud party at the Rack Shack, which is the venue next door to the cabins. It went on past midnight and we ended up resorting to ear plugs. It probably would not have been an issue if we had closed the windows. We would definitely stay here again if visiting the beautiful Flathead valley.

The winter is often very cloudy and grey so lake views aren't always the best but the indoor jetted tubs are totally worth it. Outside, they have an infinity pool, two hot tubs, a fire pit, and a small putting green. My stay there has always been relaxing, peaceful, and it's delightful to bask in the beauty. Their newly redesigned lodge and game room area is great for families and friends alike. Be sure to stop by Riley's pub for friendly service and tasty bar snacks and meals. Their desserts are amazing!

I was micro-managed from 5 minutes before, to the second we left. I was only allowed 15 minutes for party set up, and decorations. I wasn't allowed ANY earlier. I am a bit of a control freak, and if I had asked for help, I would understand. However, I did not and my experience as the parent/adult was terrible. Great facility for play. The bathroom was like being outside (temp wise), but it was so cute. The king sized bed had a memory foam topper, and it was BETTER than a tempurpedic! So cozy and comfortable. The pillows were fantastic. TV reception was good, really, everything was great. I'll post some photos later today if I get a chance. We only saw staff in the office once, and that was really just to go say hi, introduce ourselves and meet the dog. We were greeted by Chandler, a very sweet young college-aged man who was friendly, and accommodating when we asked to meet the dog. Our dog just died, so my Granddaughter was all about meeting other dogs, very sweet people. One day I stopped and got a trash bag to empty our cans; we tried to do our best to keep our room clean because our family knows the owners, and we didn't want to burden them with cleaning up after us daily. If you're a no frills person, this is a great, clean, well maintained place to stay. If you're a five diamond hotel person who expects everyone to cater to you, go somewhere else. I'm hoping to go back in the summer. It seems in some rooms they accept pets, which is great! It's a non smoking motel, but the smokers are right outside, so leaving your windows open if you're allergic is not an option.
