Sportsman's Room
Katlyn H.

This is probably my favorite place I have ever stayed. I stayed in the Sportman's Room. The bed was so comfortable, and you could open the curtains to see a beautiful view of Flathead Lake. You definitely want to leave some time in your schedule to spend sitting outside on the patio enjoying the view. The owners of the B&B were wonderful. I arrived late, but I was able to pick up my key and had instructions to get to my room. They also make a great fresh breakfast. The first day I had to leave early, so they prepared a quick but delicious meal for me. The next day I got to sit with the other guests and enjoy croissant French toast, sausage and potatoes. They also had a room with a coffee maker and plenty of brochures to give you ideas of places to visit. The B&B was about an hour from Glacier National Park. It is also about 15 minutes from Kalispell which had plenty of places to eat.

This Bed and Breakfast Inn is Lovely. The Lake View from every room is incredible. The bed was very comfy, and with the view it's hard to leave so much comfort. The owners hospitality was very warm and delightful. So many places to see and explore with the help from the owners advice it made each days experience Wonderful. Breakfast was a dream each morning. The local food along with each breakfast all 4 mornings was delicious. Defiantly an All around 5 star Bed and Breakfast.

We have loved our stay here! We came for the Spartan race and it was a miserable disaster, but our accommodations were fantastic. The rooms are cozy and clean. The breakfast is AMAZING! The scones with homemade huckleberry raspberry jam were my favorite part. Teddy the dog also lives here and comes by after breakfast is over to play and lounge around. He is a doll and we absolutely loved him! If Montana is on your list, stay here!

From the moment we arrived right up until the warm goodbye at the door, our two-night stay at this amazing B&B was BY FAR the most exquisite way to spend our 20th wedding anniversary! Michelle is an amazing chef and clearly takes pride in sourcing her ingredients locally--and by "locally" I mean her own garden or trees whenever possible! The food was no less than spectacular! We stayed in the 'Honeymoon Room' and loved waking up each morning to the breathtaking view of the lake and the sunrise! The detailed amenities were incredible! From the tv speakers at the headboard so we wouldn't disturb other guests with the volume for my hard-of-hearing husband, to the two shower heads in the shower. Also, the magnifying mirror on the desk/table and a cozy blanket tucked away in the wardrobe for movie watching-- or sunrise watching! Not to mention the plentiful outlets at the bedside tables and the remote control for the unique light fixture/fan above the bed! We felt like we were staying with some super nice friends and were given the master suite as our place to stay!

View from the Lake Room

I stayed here over the weekend of Labor Day with my 2 adult goddaughters. We got the separate bed that was set up in a spare room area. I can't say enough how gorgeous the Lake Room was. It had a mini fridge, microwave, & massive bathroom with separate shower & jet tub. The breakfast was delicious both days. As it is during Covid, there was self check in & out. The seating at breakfast was spaced out well. This place is just gorgeous!

What a cute, quaint inn with breathtaking views, comfy beds, and delicious breakfast. I loved every minute of my stay. I came to the area to checkout Blacktail Mountain Ski Area, and am glad I found Outlook Inn as well. I was even treated to the wonderful feeling of waking up and seeing deer right outside the door munching on some grass. Great place to stay in a completely magical town.

Seating outside my lovely room.

We had our backyard wedding in Somers on 6/19/2021. Months leading up to our Big Day, I was…read morefreaking out about where the Bridal party will be getting ready at since our wedding location was predominantly occupied by the Groomsmen party. A few of our out-of-town guests were staying at Somers Bay Log Cabin and to be honest they location was PERFECT since it was just right down the street from the neighborhood that we were getting married at. I thought they might be booked up already for June but still went in to try my luck early April. That's when I met Tia, their property manager. I explained to her my situation and that I really just needed a temporary spot during the day for my girls and I to get our hair and make up done. She checked her calendar and somehow was able to work her magic and squeezed a cabin just for our bridal party to get ready at. She even gave me a choice of booking for the night before or just that morning of at a discounted rate. I chose latter for the logistical convenience of that morning otherwise I'd love to spend a night at their cozy cabin! I was almost in tears that day when talking to Tia and I told her she had no idea how much weight she has lifted off my shoulder just thinking about this morning of location dilemma. To top it off, she even said it was okay for us to take some of our wedding photos onsite because have you seen how GORGEOUS their property is?! Tia is super sweet and courteous! The owners of the Somers Bay Log Cabin is very lucky to have her! I love that she puts her customers first and this is why we highly recommend Somers Bay Log Cabin if you are planning your Flathead Valley stay! Oh and did I mention that their gorgeous property is just right across from the Flathead Lake? I mean, the lake is literally a few steps away! It doesn't matter if you go during summer or winter, the sceneries are breathtaking regardless! All of our wedding guests who stayed there really enjoyed the cabin life, sipping their coffee in the morning on the front porch while looking over at the lake! Again, we want to express our SINCEREST APPRECIATION to Tia and the team at Somers Bay Log Cabin for being a tremendous help on our Big Day! You guys are truly amazing and we love you! Nice little kitchenette with a small stove, fridge and microwave. There is WiFi but it was not very strong in our cabin. (our friends were in cabin #6 and they had a strong signal) There is tv in the cabin with cable, but we never used it. We were in town attending a wedding at the Rack Shack, so the cabins were a great choice as we did not have to do any driving after the reception. There is also a great walking trail across the highway from the cabins, along Flathead Lake. We walked the mile or so into Somers each day to eat at the Somers Bay Cafe. Just be careful crossing the highway. Only downside of the entire stay was the highway noise, which can be pretty intrusive if you sleep with the windows open. Not sure I would ever stay at the cabins that are closer to the highway. (Cabins 1 and 12) There was also noise one night from a loud party at the Rack Shack, which is the venue next door to the cabins. It went on past midnight and we ended up resorting to ear plugs. It probably would not have been an issue if we had closed the windows. We would definitely stay here again if visiting the beautiful Flathead valley.

For example, a B&B may have a great location and nice decor, but the food is no good or the innkeepers are less than welcoming. At Moss Mountain every aspect of the B&B is right on. The location is superb. The inn is surrounded by forest with an organic vegetable garden, cute front porch and backyard sitting area. The inn has nice decor and is not overly cluttered. The innkeepers, Hunter and Debbie, are very friendly, welcoming and helpful and lastly the food was delicious. We stayed in Lani's room - which is on the second floor and is actually next to the kitchen. The room was very cute but you may hear kitchen noise as breakfast is being made, this didn't bother us, but if you are a light sleeper you may want to book one of the rooms on the third floor. Also, the inn has bear spray for rent for $5 a day - this is a bargain if you are only going to be hiking in the park a couple of days and don't want to fork out $50 to buy a can.

For example, we arrived late one evening from Glacier Park, around 9:00 pm, and I was planning to make some spaghetti for a later dinner for my two kids. When I looked for a pot to boil the noodles, however, I couldn't find one, and then I saw the sign by the phone in the cabin that read "If you need anything," to call their service number. When I called the number, there was no answer, and since I had stayed at the Great Bear Inn before, I walked over to the main building, which was always open for guests, to find someone to help. When I found the place quiet and the manager's office closed, however, I went into the public kitchen area and took a pot, walked back to my cabin, and made the spaghetti. After my family ate the food, I washed and cleaned the pot and returned it to the kitchen. The following day I called the landlady, named "Bunny," and asked what I needed to do to check out the following day. When she asked me why I had called the previous night, I explained I needed to borrow a pot to cook spaghetti, but after I tried calling and then walked over to the office and found no one to help, I borrowed one from the public kitchen area, used it to boil the noodles, and after eating, I had cleaned the pot and promptly returned it to the kitchen. Bunny was irate and scolded me for doing this, insinuating that I had broken some sort of unpublished rule that the kitchen was off limits to guests. When I objected and said that I had both called and walked to the office for help, she was became rude to me, saying that she had an early bedtime schedule and could not be bothered after 9:00 pm. When I expressed my dissatisfaction at this blatant disregard of the customer's need, she became hostile, and when I told her that I had paid over $1500 to stay in the supposedly furnished cabin for three nights and therefore had a reasonable expectation to have the place furnished as was stated in the advertisement. When Bunny insisted that the pot I had needed was included in the kitchen area, I looked once again and finally found it -- but it was stored behind a wooden panel that was stuck due to poor maintenance of the property. When I explained this to her she was entirely unsympathetic and cold toward me... I have no ill-will toward Bunny and her husband Larry who manage the new version of the "Great Bear Inn." I had stayed at the resort twice before in previous years and under the former management my experience then was happy and the service was excellent. However I can no longer recommend the Great Bear Inn because the new management apparently has no idea of what decent customer service means. Let me close by saying that on the day of our departure, Larry, the husband of Bunny, aggressively came to the cabin and pounded on the door telling us to get out because it was almost 11:00 AM. At the time I was washing dishes we used there because there was a sign posted that said that all residents must wash the dishes before leaving, but Larry told me to just forget it and get out... He and Bunny then sat in their noisy ATV jeep in front of cabin until we finished packing the car and we drove off.... Disgraceful and childish behavior, to say the least, and I will NEVER stay at the Great Bear Inn again. For these and other reasons, not the least being the $500 per night price for staying there, I EMPHATICALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THE GREAT BEAR INN.
