View from the small shared beach 200 yards down the gravel road
    Aaron T.

Great deal for a great price. Small, spare rooms -- but very clean and with great beach access (about 200 yards down a gravel road). The hosts were very polite and welcoming. This isn't a fancy resort, but if you're looking for a small, quiet, clean room on a budget, Flathead Lake Resort was the perfect option for us as we were passing through the area.

Stayed here for two nights in the Blue Bay cabin, which was very clean. Very friendly staff. The private beach was gorgeous.

We…read moreopted to go for the adult only retreat as our youngest child (the only one left) had no desire to go and if we weren't taking our kid we certainly didn't want to deal with anyone else's. Going into this trip I didn't know much, other than they had horses and that was what I wanted to do - ride horses. We arrived really early in the morning and was picked up at the airport, which was the size of a postage stamp. It was really easy to find our person, who grabbed our bags and loaded them into the trailer while we sat in the van. Met some others that were on the trip on the way to the lodge. Upon arrival they had a tent setup in the front where they greeted us, gave us a bag with a map of the property and list of that week's activities, told us our rooms weren't ready yet but they would find us when they were. Now - I'm going to note that they said they would find us when our room was ready and I didn't think they really would. We continued to check in to see when the room would be ready, but then later I saw them literally hunting someone down to give her keys - so they will indeed find you. When we checked in the room was a standard lodge room, we had a fridge but our friends didn't, in mentioning this in passing to the staff they brought them a fridge. Talk about service! We spent the next four days riding horses mostly, but also enjoying the company of the other guests and hearing stories from the staff. While we were really heavy on the horse rides we also enjoyed taking a tour of the elk preserve and clay sporting. We got a ride up to the yoga spot for a view (weren't too keen on hiking up there) and spent a good amount of time in the bar with fellow guests chatting up the staff. Everyone was amazing and so accommodating- I had said it was a bucket list trip but the staff at the Averill ranch has me seriously considering returning next year. Thank you for the memories.

My disappointment is with Abigail, she will never answer the phone during business hours, she did return my call once, maybe twice, but then she stated she prefers to text. I mentioned I don't like to text and email, I prefer to speak with someone to ask my questions. I call and of course leave a message stating I'd like to ask one more question. If you call me back I won't call again. It seems as a customer I'm more of a bother, after leaving that message of course I don't get a call, I get a text, right after asking please call me, and I won't call again. Thirty minutes later I get a text, which I will leave in a photo at the end, stating this is the best way to communicate with me, even though I asked for a call. So the whole time we're there I never call, because I feel I'm more of a burden then a customer. So when I check out I go to the office three times, to ask a question on checking out, it's open, but nobody there. I walk the property can't find anyone, so I call at 10:14AM, of course no answer, so I leave a note on the desk stating I'm checking out. Again, great place to stay, and if you don't like personable service you will love this place.

A few of our out-of-town guests were staying at Somers Bay Log Cabin and to be honest they location was PERFECT since it was just right down the street from the neighborhood that we were getting married at. I thought they might be booked up already for June but still went in to try my luck early April. That's when I met Tia, their property manager. I explained to her my situation and that I really just needed a temporary spot during the day for my girls and I to get our hair and make up done. She checked her calendar and somehow was able to work her magic and squeezed a cabin just for our bridal party to get ready at. She even gave me a choice of booking for the night before or just that morning of at a discounted rate. I chose latter for the logistical convenience of that morning otherwise I'd love to spend a night at their cozy cabin! I was almost in tears that day when talking to Tia and I told her she had no idea how much weight she has lifted off my shoulder just thinking about this morning of location dilemma. To top it off, she even said it was okay for us to take some of our wedding photos onsite because have you seen how GORGEOUS their property is?! Tia is super sweet and courteous! The owners of the Somers Bay Log Cabin is very lucky to have her! I love that she puts her customers first and this is why we highly recommend Somers Bay Log Cabin if you are planning your Flathead Valley stay! Oh and did I mention that their gorgeous property is just right across from the Flathead Lake? I mean, the lake is literally a few steps away! It doesn't matter if you go during summer or winter, the sceneries are breathtaking regardless! All of our wedding guests who stayed there really enjoyed the cabin life, sipping their coffee in the morning on the front porch while looking over at the lake! Again, we want to express our SINCEREST APPRECIATION to Tia and the team at Somers Bay Log Cabin for being a tremendous help on our Big Day! You guys are truly amazing and we love you! Nice little kitchenette with a small stove, fridge and microwave. There is WiFi but it was not very strong in our cabin. (our friends were in cabin #6 and they had a strong signal) There is tv in the cabin with cable, but we never used it. We were in town attending a wedding at the Rack Shack, so the cabins were a great choice as we did not have to do any driving after the reception. There is also a great walking trail across the highway from the cabins, along Flathead Lake. We walked the mile or so into Somers each day to eat at the Somers Bay Cafe. Just be careful crossing the highway. Only downside of the entire stay was the highway noise, which can be pretty intrusive if you sleep with the windows open. Not sure I would ever stay at the cabins that are closer to the highway. (Cabins 1 and 12) There was also noise one night from a loud party at the Rack Shack, which is the venue next door to the cabins. It went on past midnight and we ended up resorting to ear plugs. It probably would not have been an issue if we had closed the windows. We would definitely stay here again if visiting the beautiful Flathead valley.
