Nah, this place is just weird. Drinks are sweet and kinda odd. Whole setup of the bar, long and narrow, was not very welcoming. Bartenders with sour tired faces on. C'mon, smile a little! Lots of drunk creeps. The only redeeming grace for this place was a security guard who let me sit at his chair and people watch.

Kay, so Mountain Bar is easily a 2 star casino bar that I'm generously giving 3 stars. This place has accidentally become a tradition with my gals since we first took a girl's trip to AC about 3 or 4 years ago - each time we end up here kind of by accident, shrug our shoulders to their low, low prices and grab a table as we wait to head back to NY. Most recently our most recent girls trip to AC was fueled by Yelp's Winter Break spectacular and we ended up back here again for both a Yelp event and as a place to down some beers and round out the last day as we killed time before our bus came to take us back to the NYC...again. With a 24 hour - 7 days a week Happy Hour special that consists of select $2 draft beers (Bud Light, Coors Light and I think Heineken - ughhhh, I LOATHE Heineken), $2 (crappy) shots and $3 bottles of beer and better pints (well...not MUCH better, but I'll take a Blue Moon over any of the aforementioned draft beers ANY DAY) it's not too much of a challenge to oversee the flaws here. It's just a loud, uninteresting and just weirdly tacky bar...but it's in a casino, so we can't entirely fault them there right? Cheap beer is cheap beer and when you're finishing off a trip in AC it doesn't hurt to down a few here. I would never in a million years make it a "destination bar", no way Jose! (I've NEVER said that...but it totally fits here!).

Sweet deals! Although there's really not too much else to do in Wild Wild West since they're renovating...

Great pregame spot or good location to catch a sports game to break up the gambling! They have $2-3 beer specials and $4 shot specials all day everyday, but I think these prices are only temporary. Wild Wild West is undergoing renovations, and all the table games are closed as a result. They'll be making the space more "family friendly" and centralizing the gaming at Bally's (right next door). So in the meanwhile, your only reason to even enter the Wild Wild West area is either for the limited slot machines, the Virginia City Buffet (very good by the way), or Mountain Sports Bar. Either way, it's a good time, and I recommend a visit if you're nearby on the boardwalk.

I can't. I just can't. Yeah, this place was kind of cool when we were all there for the Yelp Event. There's bull riding for $5 if you like to get tossed around. Cheap booze. But I am going to take the time to elaborate on my second experience here. I went here after trying to figure out how to gamble away my bus casino voucher Sunday afternoon and had some time to kill before any Academy busses were coming soooo. . . . naturally decided to grab a $2 beer and watch some nfl football and soak in what we did the entire weekend. $2/3 beers is quite the deal. Yes, everything on tap kind of sucks. The $2 beers were only Miller Lite and Coors. I went with Millers because Blue Moon isn't my favorite and none of the other $3 beers were calling out to me. Not the issue here at all. Cheap beer is cheap beer and sometimes its great if you are in the mood. The issue was both the service and the food. I looked at the menu and it had some kind of nachos/wings deal. Alright. . . . why not. I could go for a pound (which is exactly 10) wings and a small box of disgusting nachos split amongst three people. It was enough food. But I was expecting the wings to at least be like chicken wings. No. It was greasy, super super duper greasy fried chicken with dipping sauces on the side, which our waitress didn't even remember and caused Steph P. to run over and make her own Puerto Rican sauce. None of the sauces were great. And I sincerely hope that they were not sitting out in the open for too long. Looking at you mayonnaise. Because as soon as I got home, all I could taste in the back of my throat was that sad pile of chicken and nachos and I threw up everywhere and took an extreme severe digestion aid pill, which I only pull out of the reserves in extreme cases. The nachos. Here's the tricky bit. My friend that we all know and love, no explanation necessary, does not eat fruits/or vegetables. For the most part. She asked for pretty much everything on the side since the rest of us do eat produce from time to time. She asked for freaking chips with cheese and sour cream on them. The waitress and or food preparer did not listen and dumped guac, tomatoes, just a bunch of crap on top. He put a small cup of 'spicy mystery meat' to the side. And Jalapenos were as well on the side. Didn't add the rest of what was even supposed to come in the nachos on it (corn/bacon, etc). I didn't care. But they didn't listen. Everything still tasted pretty gnarly and I would never in a billion years eat here ever again if I was even paid to.

The worst. They took so long & they took a girls money next to me and wouldn't return it. I am not happy and I will not be returning. The bartenders were slow (understandably) but extremely rude! The one drink that I received was watered down and did not taste anything like what I ordered! NOPE!!!

It was the middle of the day so the place was pretty empty. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very cool. She had some good shows on TV and she poured heavy. The bar had a bunch of funny signs all over the place. It's a chill dive bar and I'm sure on a busy night it's probably a great place to grab an unpretentious drink. We found out we could buy drinks from BS and bring them next door which get you around the whole no alcohol situation. I mean, if you're going to Bare Exposure in the daytime, you might want to grab a stiff drink beforehand.

We were 2 of the only people sitting at the bar with our empty glasses right in front of us waiting (we waited for about 20 minutes). We couldn't believe it! Well, the "Irish Pub" you know from the Monopoly game is actually this real property, "The Irish Pub and Inn", here on St. James Place in Atlantic City. During most of the year, this legendary, 24/7 pub is famous for its unique, memorabilia-filled atmosphere and historical ties to AC, the Monopoly game, prohibition, etc., attracting visitors who enjoy its authentic, home-style vibe. But during Christmas, its decorations are on a whole other level of amazingness. Next thing I know, the bartender, Domingo, starts yelling from behind the bar and then comes around questioning why I was in the establishment. He made it very clear that the restrooms were for paying customers only. I firmly replied, "I plan to dine in, but need to use the restroom first. Is that a problem?" He didn't seem too happy with that response and walked away. As intended, I sat at the bar and ordered wings and truffle fries. The food wasn't particularly memorable, but the wings were a decent size. The truffle fries were fine, but nothing that stood out. Antonio clocked in about halfway through my meal and was a breath of fresh air. He was friendly, attentive, and completely changed the tone of the experience. Overall, it was a good visit with decent food and great service from Antonio. Unfortunately, my first interaction with Domingo left a poor impression and took away from what otherwise would have been a positive experience.

PRIDE, PORK CHOPS & PURE JOY AT BYRDCAGE ATLANTIC CITY…read more Atlantic City was absolutely glowing this weekend during the Atlantic City Great Pride Festival at O'Donnell Park near Stockton University. More than 1,000 people were expected to attend, and the energy was incredible--music, dancing, laughter, and love everywhere you looked. Just two short blocks from the festival at 3426 Atlantic Avenue sits one of Atlantic City's true gems: Byrdcage Atlantic City. I stopped in throughout the day to cool off, enjoy some mimosas and other refreshing low-alcohol beverages, hydrate, and eventually have dinner. From the moment I walked in, I immediately got why this place has such a loyal following. First, the cleanliness deserves its own paragraph. I have visited restaurants all over the country, and I honestly don't remember seeing an establishment this spotless. The interior and exterior were immaculate. Not a spot of dust. Even during one of the busiest days of the year, the restrooms remained roomy, pristine, and exceptionally clean. The atmosphere is equally impressive. The décor is whimsical, fun, and carefully curated with fascinating photos and memorabilia everywhere you look. Outside, colorful murals create the perfect backdrop for photos and add even more personality to an already vibrant space. And then there was dinner. My server, Isabella, was friendly, attentive, and incredibly efficient. She even arranged for a dinner entrée to be served before dinner service had officially begun, and I was so grateful she did. I ordered the Seoul Mate Sizzle Pork Chop Platter, and wow. A beautifully grilled bone-in pork chop glazed in a sweet and savory sauce and served over fresh pineapple salsa, alongside creamy herb rice and perfectly cooked vegetables including broccoli, zucchini, onions, mushrooms, and carrots. The pork chop was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, and the pineapple salsa took it to another level. It was one of those meals where you intentionally slow down because you don't want it to end. And the music? The music made me dance almost all day and well into the night. There was something happening everywhere--at the Pride Festival, downstairs, and upstairs on the dance floor. The DJs absolutely nailed it. Great music, great energy, and great people. I honestly lost track of time because I was having so much fun. Management was everywhere--engaged, attentive, and laser-focused on every detail of the operation. The entire team worked together seamlessly to create something special. More than anything, Byrdcage felt like what every establishment should aspire to be: a safe space filled with kindness, inclusion, acceptance, and pure joy. It was family-friendly, welcoming to everyone, and simply fun. I even bought a Byrdcage shirt at the festival because this is exactly the kind of local business I enjoy supporting. If you're visiting Atlantic City, don't just come for the casinos. Come for experiences like this. Come for the people. Come for the music. Come hungry. Come ready to dance. And absolutely make time for Byrdcage Atlantic City. I'll be back. #ByrdcageAtlanticCity #AtlanticCity #AtlanticCityNJ #AtlanticCityPride #GreatPrideFestival #Pride #LGBTQIA #LoveIsLove #InclusiveSpaces #SafeSpace #YelpElite #Foodie #PorkChopPerfection #Mimosas #DanceAllDay #DanceAllNight #SupportLocal #FamilyFriendly #RestaurantReview #AtlanticCityEats #VisitAtlanticCity #JerseyShore #StocktonUniversity #ODonnellPark #OrangeLoop #EatLocal #ACNJ #PrideCelebration #GoodVibesOnly #PureJoy #AtlanticCityBoardwalk #BeachVibes

I'll play first and eat later. Come back perfectly on time and what do I see? Couple that was still in the line when I made my reservation before them - was getting seated. And we had to wait another 10 minutes for the next table. After that it takes 19 minutes, yes I timed it, before server shows up at our table for the first time. I would have expected appetizers to be served at that duration. Later, I timed same thing for the neighboring table, still 14 minutes. I understand about being understaffed and overbooked. But in this case manager was present at the front and had not 2 but 3 greeter girls available. Why one or 2 of them did not convert to wait stuff? R just close half the tables. But no, we will keep running with a reduced service available. Guess what do I see next? Another busy server working exactly half the tables in my proximity who refuses to even stop by for a second. Nope, they each have their own tables and do not share tips - so he has absolutely no interest in helping those that are half a step away. And this is my favorite moment of the visit. By the 19 minute mark we both had made complete food decisions and were ready to go for beef Wellington. However, we learned from another visitor that dish is not cooked to order, but it's a conveyor. You might get that perfect serving or you might get completely cold undercooked meal that waited 30 minutes for you. Just get a steak, and order a custom readiness level: this way one will have to be next to it most of the cooking time. So, we get couple burgers with truffle fries and calamari. I'm looking for the menu section for English ale, and the only choice is Guinness. This is the moment where we should have left, but there would be not enough time to eat somewhere else decent. Calamari is ok, only ok. I was expecting something much better. I can easily take you to 3 places in central NJ that will give you best calamari of your life. Drinks came after app. So, even bartender is busy???? The truffle fries is the only start I'm giving this place in my review. But I guess that they come pre-seasoned in a frozen package, so it's hard to mess them up. Burger had a really good idea of combining pulled meat with your typical hamburger, and it would have been great it patty was cooked to order. I think mine was seating in a warm drawer for ages and then microwaved. Just good enough to eat. Overall this is the worst Gordon experience I've had, hint: try fish and chips place in Vegas. I will not be coming back even if some else is paying. Gordon, I would love to make you the best burger I can at home, then serve you some of the best ale and scotch money can get, and then we can drive to AC and shake up this place. PS. Manager was made aware of all troubles we had and yet did not made any attempt to play bullet out of you-know-what by offering round of drinks or cutting the bill in half. PPS. I run out of Guinness and server was never around to order a replacement. This alone cuts the tip in half in my books.
