It was not a 'busy day,' considering the shop was completely empty. Hence why you were sitting comfortably in a chair at the back of the store doing absolutely nothing. And if the music was so unbearably loud that you had to raise your voice just to speak, maybe turn the volume down. Yelp exists for exactly this reason--when businesses fail to meet basic expectations. You don't get to silence feedback just because you don't like it. If you spent less time attacking customers and more time improving, maybe you'd get fewer bad reviews. In regards to my review on a restaurant, (which you are weird for looking through my reviews)-Imagine going to the best steakhouse in NYC, spending a small fortune, and getting your steak wrong, but you just sit there quietly. That's not how things work. If you think I'm wrong for speaking up, maybe it's because you're the type who'd stay silent and let poor service slide. You must not be familiar with how customer service works in 2025. When a customer feels mistreated, they leave feedback. But you already know this because your other reviews highlight how rude you are and the lack of common sense in running your business. Your attempt to twist my words only exposes how little you understand about respect and professionalism.

Unbelievably great experience at Wesco…read more I'm a big, 6'2 beer league goalie with a size 15 shoe who always has a hard time finding gear, particularly skates. After speaking with Andrew who runs the pro shop (a smaller satellite Wesco store) at the Stamford Twin Rinks, he recommended I go see Nick at the main Wesco store in Brookfield. Having already spent an hour driving from the Bronx to Stamford, I was hesitant to drive another hour for gear - but I am glad I did. Andrew called Nick and informed him I was coming up, and when I arrived Nick was prepared and ready to get me fitted with a VERY gently used pair of Bauer skates that fit like a glove. I went in thinking I would try on some skates, find a pair and size I liked, and then shop around online, but when Nick said the price was $150, I couldn't leave without them (Mind you, the skates were last years model and used, but they were in perfect condition). I was in and out in about 30 minutes with a pair of skates that had been heat molded to my foot and sharpened on site to perfection. Can't thank Nick (and Andrew in Stamford!) enough for their dedication to providing the best gear and service around. I will not shop for goalie gear anywhere else again. Thank you Andrew, Nick, and Wesco!!!

Especially for goalie gear, this is one of the best stores as the goalie specialists are very knowledgeable about proper fitting and models, and are also fun to chat with. Although the prices for the gear are the same as all other hockey/goalie stores, they do have a very wide selection and also some used gear if you're looking to buy discounted equipment for a lot less and don't mind if it's been used a little.

Kasey facilitated an analysis of the feet while walking/standing, explained the results, and recommended various options accordingly. My husband tried HOKA, New Balance, and Adidas shoes and ended up having trouble deciding between two. Kasey helped him consider price/appearance to complete his decision! She was also excellent at engaging in conversation and providing informative, friendly service. We were in and out of the store in probably 20 minutes with a new pair of shoes/socks for little over $100! Darien Running Co was an excellent stop during our weekend away from NYC. I highly recommend!

I have mixed feelings about this running shop…read more On the plus side, i generally have had good service there. Everyone has been friendly and they have a nice selection of typically popular running shoes and accessories. They also have a bit of a running community with occasional product tests/races/practice runs etc. On the other hand, they have a practice which I can only characterize as annoying but perhaps necessary from their point of view. Unlike every other running store I've ever been to, they make you get socks off the rack at their store to try on (even if you bring your own clean, washed socks). I was under the impression you had to buy the socks and that was certainly the implication when they took socks off the rack and ripped open the package. Somebody messaged me on YELP saying that is not the case but that was certainly not clear to me. Especially when they literally said to me "Don't worry, they'll be discounted" and it was not clear to me what the price was of the socks I was directed to (i later found out they were over $18 and the "discount" was about $5...so in other words, it certainly seemed like I was paying $13 just to try on shoes). Perhaps its just a sanitary thing and not an extra charge but the employees should be crystal clear about that. They were not. Perhaps a sign when you walk in would make this clear (if there was one, i did not see it) as its just casually brought up when you ask to try on shoes. At any rate, if they do charge you (or at least suggest you buy the socks discounted), I get why they do this. I mean, once you find a shoe you like, you can likely get it online cheaper and i'm sure people just come in to try stuff on and then want to leave. This would be a way to force people to pay for something. But, I like to support small and local businesses so I would not do that. However, not allowing me to wear a clean pair of socks (or even having standard "try on socks" like most stores do for customers), I feel is a bit...well..annoying.

The owner expressed he was "passing" on selling my product. When I visited to pick up my samples, he had my product on display at the register for sale without paying me. Gut Reaction Tennis misappropriated these samples and sold/had intent to sell them without any payment or agreement to purchase. This is theft and unethical business practice. Samples are provided for consideration, not for unauthorized resale. I would strongly advise any potential partners or customers to avoid Gut Reaction Tennis at all costs as their business practices are questionable and, in this case, potentially illegal.

I won't go anywhere else now that various places in the city have given my friends and I poorly fitting skates and bad sharpenings that have sometimes irreparably damaged the blades. It's really not worth the risk to go somewhere that doesn't have a good reputation if you skate regularly and have good, expensive equipment. Mark is incredibly patient, kind and knowledgeable about his work. His fittings are incredibly thorough and he's precise in his placement of blades. He noticed that my laces were unnecessarily long and handed me a new pair for no cost. Also, if you know what you need in advance, just call or email to make sure they have it in stock and if not, they'll order it for you.
