Saddle between illumination rock and main peak
    Zifeng C.

Went there for hiking soon after I get over my jet leg! Started from timberland ski resort, landform became tough above 8500ft, which is the terminal of the ropeway. I finally reached the saddle between illumination rock and main peak. That is my limitation without ice-axe. There is no way to reach devils Kitchen or higher place unless you have specialized climbing equipment. Ice climbing is the only choice to the main peak, and it is extremely dangerous! Step on a sloping ice surface and walk is a life gamble. Once slip and down, nothing can stop you slipping towards the downhill side, and the result will be ugly.

Lyndi was my first CrossFit coach, back when CF PFB was a garage box in Yelm, WA. She started me…read moreoff so well that I was able to step right into a bigger box when she and co-owner/husband, Ben, moved to Oregon. Due to the driving distance being "only" 2.5 hours, I went to their current box once for a memorial WOD, in August, 2013. The facility is spacious and the equipment new. The layout is well-planned and efficient. There is only one restroom, but I never saw anyone waiting in line ;) They have a challenging 800m run course that goes uphill! Coaching is fantastic. I didn't work out under Ben too much back in their garage box, but he provided me with the support and positive critiques on my visit here, that I expect from CrossFit coaching. He's very motivational and yet cognizant of physical limitations (I have a bad shoulder). Lyndi is still as great a coach as always, too. She has a way of inspiring more effort, just when I think I can't do any more. After giving me the basics, she has continued to applaud my progress on Facebook - a friend as well as a coach. :) Community - as I said, I was only here once for a memorial WOD, but I met several people who were friendly and encouraging, cheering for each other (and me). I would imagine they are like that with their fellow athletes on a regular basis. I wish I had been able to go WOD with Lyndi and Ben more, but will always be thankful for their introduction to CrossFit that set me on a lifelong path of functional fitness. If you have never tried CrossFit, don't short yourself - go do it! Someone might look at me, a 58-year-old woman with a bad shoulder, and not think it advisable to do such extreme workouts. The key is in the coaching! The key is in how CrossFit can be scaled to give the best results for each individual, no matter your fitness level, age, or physical limitations. At CrossFit PFB, you will get healthier and do things you never imagined you could do.

I am a good 50+ pounds overweight so going to the gym has never been pleasant, I am a little self conscious. I get a great workout every time I go here and I enjoy it a lot. The new box is awesome and very spacious:)

I think there could be better sign posts at forks - I took one wrong turn, and ended up in a muddy area, rather than continuing across the street. Nevertheless, it's a lovely walking path, bringing nature close to civilization and I'll be back to get my steps in!

The view of nature at its finest was very amazing, indeed. Basically, it was perfect for nature photographers, as that means so many opportunities to take photos of nature. Everywhere you look, there are trees, flowers and plants as far as the eye can see. Plus, nature sure is amazing, as well as very inspiring too. Another good reason why I find it to be amazing is that if you look really hard, you can find a painted rock. And speaking of which, the painted rocks sure are beautiful. Besides bringing painted rocks to Tickle Creek Park & Trail and putting them in places where others can find them, people also take photos of the painted rocks they find (as photos make great souvenirs). In conclusion, I highly recommend Tickle Creek Park & Trail for all those nature lovers out there. And I give it five stars as well (although ten stars would be even better).
