The walkway is paved, flat and wide - which I love and require - and it runs parallel to the Columbia River so there are gorgeous views the entire way. In nice weather, sailboats, boats and kayaks add to the charm. Something about walking along the water that always elevates the experience for me so this trail is a winner! There is a lot of sun, and some smaller shady area, so if you are sun sensitive wear a hat. I wear a baseball cap and sunglasses to keep the sun from wearing me down. if you do want to rest, there are several inviting benches along the way. Even views of the beach areas and for those wanting to venture closer to the water, the path down is rocky. And beaches not too inviting but people do use them. Would definitely be safer if there were stairs. The trail is five miles and you can park anywhere along the way. Walk, bike or skateboard as far you want and are able. In some areas there are a few restaurants and even an ice cream place. At the east end is Tidewater Cove with the Marina just past the stretch of condos. Depending on the season, there are flowers blooming or in full bloom or trees turning their fall colors. As many have pointed out, there aren't any bathrooms except down at the west end near the newer part of the Vancouver Waterfront. Plan or time accordingly or stop in a restaurant to purchase something and use the restroom.

Multiple boat docks along the trail. There are benches scattered along the path as well as restaurants...The Cove, Beaches and McMenamins. All restaurants have beautiful views of the Columbia River and outdoor seating. Wintler Community Park at the end of the trail has a decent beach to relax on, and restrooms are available there as well. They have about 20-25 parking spots. This park is free in off-season, but otherwise charge $5 for vehicles and $3 for motorcycles. Overall highly recommend enjoying this wonderful trail along the beautiful Columbia River.

Even the drive through the Gorge to get to the park is amazing. I would absolutely recommend visiting! Only issue I ran into was that the parking payment meter in the parking lot was broken and I had to buy a pass online and write the info on a scrap piece of paper like the taped-on signage on the meter said. Many over grown blackberry bushes, but they were not a problem.

OUTSTANDING! This…read morehike was a challenge and a total Adrenalin rush for my crew and I. I loved it! We had to work our way over a huge log dam which was very steep and slippery. You had to pass this to even get to the falls. The water was freezing, so make sure the shoes you wear you do not mind getting wet. TIP: make sure you arrive as early as possible. The hike and gorge itself becomes very crowded as the day goes on. As you make your journey to the gorge, you find yourself walking into waist deep water. The moss caves and steep mountain sides are beautiful. The water may have been cold, but it was so FRESH and clean. The water was cleaning my shoes and I did not realize until I saw them at the end :D After you take the adventurous hike to the gorge, you can hike your away to another waterfall that has all sorts of views!! I felt at peace during this entire experience. The temperature is always cooler in the mountains/ by the water, we wore dry fit clothing(tank tops and capris) and were a little chilly. I cannot wait to hike to this gorge again, and the surrounding waterfalls. This is MUST vist!!

Not too far from Portland this hike is short and fun and it does award you with gorgeous views at certain points . We had a 5 year old with us who was easily able to do most parts of it . The waterfall is two tiered and the pool it falls into is perfect for a dip. The biggest challenge is the parking and we saw plenty of people get tickets .

We were a bit too late, but caught a bit of the sunrise on the way up. Clouds and fog were swirling around and moving fast at the top. Absolutely beautiful. Wish I had a hot cup of coffee at the top to enjoy! No parking pass or special access permit required before 0900!!!

This is a moderate intensity hike but it is consistently graded throughout; a great hike if you only have about two hours and want some cardio in your day. The trail is clearly defined and easy to follow. The hike is marvelous in the summer on a clear sunny day! However, the views on the trail are a bit better during the colder months when the leaves are off the trees. Either way, you get a lovely view of the Gorge that is mostly unrestricted as you get near the peak. There is a dedicated parking lot at the trailhead but spots are limited. No permits are required. There is also no public restroom available so plan accordingly. Enjoy!

When researching hiking trails to add to our vacation itinerary, I chose Hamilton Mountain Trail…read morebecause of the waterfalls..Pool of The Winds, Hardy Falls, & Rodney Falls and also, because it was located across the way from Beacon Rock. It was perfect weather for our hike on September 3, 2021 & it took my hubby & I almost 2 hours to hike up to the Pool of The Winds waterfall & back down. We did make multiple stops along the trail to take pictures/videos & to catch our breath. :)) While, I don't consider myself an avid hiker, I do consider myself in pretty good shape BUT I did NOT feel in good shape a few times during our hike up Hamilton Mountain! Going straight up that mountain is no joke! No worries though, I pulled through & made my way up that mountain & back down w/out any assistance...barely! :)) There are a few spots where the climb is very steep & slippery so be mindful of your steps. For sure having actual hiking boots would have served me better than the running shoes, I had on. Okay, so enough of my "out of shape" info..let's move on to the awesomeness of Hamilton Mountain Trail. As you are climbing up the trail, you're surrounded by huge trees & everything around you is so still & just peaceful. There is a small bench for sitting along the way & if you keep going pass that, you eventually come to an open clearing and the waterfalls. The waterfalls themselves are just so awesome! Mother Nature really is displaying her best work when you're standing right next to a waterfall! The Pool of The Winds waterfall was my favorite & there's a bridge right beneath it that is the perfect picture backdrop. I also wanted to add that it wasn't crowded at all during our visit & we did go on a Saturday around 2:30pm. Lastly, there was plenty of parking & a restroom at the beginning of the trail head. We hiked Beacon Rock the day before, and this trail is right across the street. In fact, you can…read moreget a good view of Beacon Rock through the trees from the Upper Parking Lot. The hike to Rodney Falls and Pool of the Winds seemed do-able, and we had a short amount of time, so we thought we could knock it out. As we started out, we learned that it had a pretty steep incline, and was a bit of a butt burner on the way up. I'm not an avid hiker, so let's just say I had a bit of a rough time (gasp) with lots of stops for photos (read: to catch my breathe). There are tons of trees for shade, with a few sun spots here and there. Just as I thought I couldn't hike another step, a fellow hiker offered encouragement, letting me know it was just a few minutes farther. And boy was it worth it. Pool of the Winds is a gorgeous falls with a clear pool of mountain water. And there are several spots to get good views of Rodney Falls and to continue on the hike if you choose (I did not!). Easy time going down. Quite a few people had hiking poles, to make it easier on the knees. I'd call this a success! (even with sore legs for a day or two afterward).

Bathrooms are always clean and well stocked. The trails are in great condition and the bridges are both beautiful and not slippery. I've been hiking here for over 10 years--it's a wonderful place to enjoy a few hours in nature. Plus, there's lots of shade in the summer.

This park is very lush with picnic tables and grills spread out for privacy. The view of the lake is gorgeous! There are over 6 miles of trails, some of which intertwine. If you're new to these trails, a map is a good idea; one could easily get lost if not familiar as the trails aren't all marked. I just took a picture of the trail map by the parking area to have as reference in case I needed it. The trails are lush and mainly dirt and rocks. If you walk down to lower falls the trail can be a little more treacherous. Some of the hills are steep and some rocks loose. Make sure you wear the proper footwear. There are a few falls to see, many creeks, a dam and a couple lakes (Lacamas and Round). Overall a wonderful place to get outside for fresh air and beautiful scenery. Highly recommend.

The view of nature at its finest was very amazing, indeed. Basically, it was perfect for nature photographers, as that means so many opportunities to take photos of nature. Everywhere you look, there are trees, flowers and plants as far as the eye can see. Plus, nature sure is amazing, as well as very inspiring too. Another good reason why I find it to be amazing is that if you look really hard, you can find a painted rock. And speaking of which, the painted rocks sure are beautiful. Besides bringing painted rocks to Tickle Creek Park & Trail and putting them in places where others can find them, people also take photos of the painted rocks they find (as photos make great souvenirs). In conclusion, I highly recommend Tickle Creek Park & Trail for all those nature lovers out there. And I give it five stars as well (although ten stars would be even better).
