I'm not from NYC originally but $60 for minutes is unbelievable even where I'm from in LA. The rooms are only semi-private; there is a divider between the rooms (not four walls) so you can hear some chatter. But since I was one of the only clients, it was rather a relaxing experience. The room was also clean. The masseuse Tina did a great job getting alot of my knots out and also used hot stones as well. I made sure I left a good tip, as the service was so cheap. I highly recommend this place and will be back as I am a permanent resident here now.

I've had massages that made me feel like jello afterwards but this was not one of them. The rooms are separated by curtains. They do not try to keep a spa like ambiance here because the front desk person was talking so loud. I was also a bit peeved by the fact that she kept coming in to ask the masseuse how many more minutes every few minutes or so because of a potential client. They use baby oil here and when I got home, I had the biggest allergic reaction and was super itchy for the next day or so. Probably would not return.

A 60-minute deep tissue massage for $60 is an absolute steal in NYC, especially downtown. I'll admit, I was a little skeptical at first after reading some of the reviews. The spa is on the second floor, and the exterior (plus the staircase leading up) looks a bit sketchy -- but hey, it's NYC. The building's old, but once inside, everything was totally fine. I was greeted immediately by the staff, who were all very kind and welcoming. I called ahead around 3 PM on a Monday, and they were able to take me right away. The rooms are small but fairly clean -- not a luxury spa, but I felt safe and comfortable the entire time. I believe Sarah was my massage therapist, and she was fantastic. She was sweet, attentive, and really listened when I told her about my neck pain from sitting at a desk all day. She spent extra time working out the knots in my neck while still giving a full-body massage. Overall, such a great experience -- I'm planning to go back this week and will definitely be asking for Sarah again. Hoping it's just as good the second time around!

I came here to relax, not to listen to the staff talking, laughing, and gossiping around me while I'm paying for a massage. If I wanted noise and aggravation, I could've stayed outside in New York traffic for free. And then comes the tip situation. Give me a break. I'm a VERY good tipper when the service deserves it. I've tipped close to the price of the service before when somebody really took care of me. But don't give me mediocre service and then act desperate for a big tip like I owe you something. I still left $20, which after this experience was more generous than I needed to be. Here's an idea: stop worrying about the customer's tip before you've even earned it. Give people a professional massage, let them actually RELAX, and maybe the good tips will come naturally. I gave this place one shot. That's enough for me. Never again. Save your money, save your time, and go somewhere that understands you're paying for relaxation--not aggravation. I'm out. Word.

About 10 mins laters, a new woman comes in and gets started. She did her thing, but spent a very long time on my upper body. During the massage, she was talking to the other masseuse in the next room, so that wasn't super relaxing. After spending a long time on the upper body, she moved to my calves. Then after massaging them, she asked me to flip over. I look at her like she's nut and tell her that didnt get my lower back at all (or my feet for that matter). Then, after what fletcher like 5 minutes, the timer went off. She basically patted me on the back and said that's it. Didn't offer any extra time (I would have paid for it) or anything. So, I got dressed, went to the bathroom and paid for the massage. I gave her a $5 tip, because I'm not a complete a**hole... then she wanted to bargain for a bigger tip. I looked at her like she had lost her marbles. She said most ppl give a $10 tip. To that, I told her that if I take back the 5, there is nothing else coming. She walked away and I left. In hindsight, I wish I had spoken up a bit more, but she's the professional, right? Sigh... my midback was sore for a few days. Boo, tomato, tomato. It goes without saying, I would not return to this 'spa'.
