The Cycle Exchange had a great website, provided all the essential details about their bikes and had very clear photo's displaying their bikes condition, speedometer and other photo's. They also had an incredible inventory to chose from and the prices seemed extremely competitive when compared to other websites. We also noticed that the quality of the bikes they had in inventory at their two locations was much better than other sites. Once he selected the bike that we wanted he contacted The Cycle Exchange prepared to deal with the typical sales process. His first call was with Mike who was super accommodating, no pressure sales and offered to provide any additional information or photo's. He verified everything that had been advertised about the bike and made his decision to buy an easy one. We put a deposit down and planned our trip to their shop to see the bike in person. The Cycle Exchange provide us with all of the pricing including the delivery service in writing before to confirm all cost, nothing was a problem for them. We confirmed that we would be their first thing Saturday morning - as we pulled up Chris Varady was already preparing the bike, it had been detailed and was waiting for us. It looked even better in person and we couldn't wait to finalize our transaction and get the bike home. As part of our sales process we purchased 2 Bell helmets and gloves and they gave us a very generous discount. We couldn't be happier. They provided delivery services 4 days later and delivered our bike in their closed truck to our home. Shopping for a used ZX-6R, I came across The Cycle Exchange in Andover, NJ…read more I initially spoke with Dash over the phone regarding their 2021 Kawasaki ZX-6R with 15,702 miles listed for around $10,000. During our first call, I was quoted a little over $12,000 out the door. Later that same day, I called back and was quoted $11,800 out the door. Throughout both conversations, I kept hearing that they are a "No Haggle" dealership. Despite that, I decided to come in and inspect the bike in person. Upon inspection, I noticed numerous areas of corrosion and neglect, including corrosion around the rear wheel area, shock, and engine case. The rear brake pad also appeared low. Overall, the bike looked like it may have been sitting outside for some time without proper care. Another disappointing part of the experience was that test rides are not allowed, and you even have to ask permission just to sit on the bike. I also asked whether the 15,200-mile valve clearance inspection/service had been performed, as this is a major scheduled maintenance item for this model. I was told they had zero maintenance records for the bike. Then came the most confusing part: I was given a third new quote of $11,300 out the door. So much for "No Haggle." At that point, after seeing the bike's condition in person, I had already lost interest. Still, I decided to see if there was any flexibility at all and offered $10,500 out the door based on the condition and upcoming maintenance needs. The answer was simply "No." The entire experience felt very impersonal. Every response was either "No" or "No Haggle," which they seem oddly proud of they even have signs posted inside. I understand a dealership has to make money, but they're unwilling to negotiate even a few hundred dollars on a used bike in rough condition. I've never seen greed like this. If you're an experienced rider or motorcycle buyer, I would recommend looking very carefully before purchasing here. If you're a first-time buyer, bring someone experienced with you so you understand what you're looking at and what maintenance costs may be coming. Buyer beware.

Every time I have called to make an appointment to have work done on my either my R1 or my R6, it's been really bad. Every time I call, I get the impression that I am just an inconvenience. Maybe if I bought my bikes there, it would be different, but who knows. Perception is reality when it comes to interacting with customers and my perception is, they really don't want to do any work for me. I really don't understand it. It's not just one time either. Every time I have called to make an appointment, they've gone out of their way to tell me why they couldn't do it. Excuse after excuse with the main reason being "we are too busy". Well I guess they don't need my business then. Good for them, I guess. It's not like I'm ever asking for an engine rebuild or anything time consuming. Example, I called to ask if I brought my wheels and new tires in, if they could mount them for me. I wasn't asking for a rush job. I said I'd leave them and they could do it when it was convenient for them. I didn't ask how much it would cost. Whatever they wanted to charge would have been fine. But no, I was told that unless I buy the tires from them, they wouldn't mount them. Really? Maybe they are very busy, I get that, but to be told that really put me off about the whole place. It wasn't like they said "I'm sorry, we are very busy, I can't squeeze you in". Even though if I had access to the mounting machine, I could mount both tires in 10 minutes. I used to be a tire mounter WAY back in the day and I know how long it takes if you know what you're doing. It was, "It's not worth our time because you didn't buy the tires from us, so we won't make enough money off of you to bother" . While they didn't say those exact words, that's what he was saying. So I ended up buying some $20 tire spoons from Amazon and mounting them myself in my garage. Added a $25 tire balancer from Harbor Freight and that was that. I will forever mount my own motorcycle tires rather than beg Town and Country to do me the huge favor of paying them to do it for me. I'm currently in the market for a new bike for my teenage son, and I wouldn't buy a motorcycle from these guys if it were the last one on earth, because of the way their service department treats me. EVERY time I have called for service. If I were the owner and my service department was pushing away business with potential customers the way these guys do, I would clean house and fire them, starting with the service manager and working my down to anyone who sends potential customers away, unless they've done everything they could to accommodate a paying customer. They're taking money out of the owners pocket, plain and simple. Apparently he/she doesn't care though. I am all about supporting local, privately owned businesses instead of buying everything online. It's so disappointing that we have to take our equipment out of town for service, instead of being able to support our locally owned shop, for the hobby that we love so much. I get that it's a business, but beyond that, the motorcycle community is jam packed with so may nice people, all willing to help each other, but sadly our local shop doesn't share that same spirit and sentiment. I'd love to open a local shop that services and sells parts and service for Sport bikes, Motocross, ATV's, even scooters. Everything the Harley shops don't do. Although I called Garden State Harley and they did say they will mount my tires for me Maybe some day I will open that shop and everyone will be welcome!

He seems to take pride in the fact that he charges a fraction of the Harley dealer, but that's not really impressive if you've ever gone to a Harley dealer. I found his pricing fair, as in he is making a living and does not gouge at all. What is impressive is the fact that he really takes pride in his work. I went to pick up my bike at his place and had forgot to mention that the foot hold on the clutch side would spin. He had been paid he took another twenty minutes to fix it because as he said it could be dangerous. If I can get the bike to Bergen I will use him again and again. If you're lucky enough to live nearby he will pick up your bike at no cost. I'm a fan, and recommend this mechanic.
