So first I have to say I've never ever written a yelp review. Even if I have a bad experience somewhere I usually value my time too much to spend it bashing some bodies business which essentially is their livelihoods. But this one had to be written. I am and have been in the motorcycle business for over 10 years now. I've pushed a broom and worked myself up the ladder to a lead tech at a flagship ducati triumph dealership, which I eventually left, on good terms, to open up my own mom and pop service shop that now has a decent following. Recently I had serviced an Aprilia RSV4 and got to take it on a very long test ride. Absolutely fell in love with the machine. Even though, I have friends in the industry working at an Aprilia shop close to mine I don't like to ask for favors and decided to give MOTOFIT a try. Closed my shop on Saturday and put some $$$ that I just got from selling a couple used bikes, and off I was to potentially buy myself my next toy which I do not need since I have plenty of bikes but much like every motorcyclist, it's not the need it's the want that drives us. Walked into their showroom, which all though small, seem to have a few nice machines. Not really a good flow to the space in my opinion, mainly cause the Aprilias are by the parts department and can easily be confused for bikes waiting to be worked on. They are also hard to admire cause of the line of people waiting to get help at the parts department. After, standing there for 10-15 mins trying to catch eye contact with someone that works there overly busy sales guy named Keith Baker rushed over to me, and in a very friendly tone and asked me if I needed help. Again, being in the industry I knew exactly what he was dealing with being that it was a busy Saturday and he already had a buyer sitting at his desk. I asked him if they still had a left over model in stock that I saw on Craigslist. He said "think so" and quickly showed me a previous deal he had made on a brand new model to show me what I can expect to pay if I financed the bike. Again, doing this while apologizing to the guy he was already working with. Then he asked me to walk over to another guy and ask to check if that model was still in their inventory since he was busy serving somebody else. That gentleman, if you can call him that, was basically sitting with his feet on his desk picking his nose. I, very politely asked him to check the availability of the model I was looking for. With the biggest nasty stank impression as if I was asking him to shovel manure he pulled out his folders and listed through them with no sense of urgency as if his time was much more important then mine once he found the right page, in a very nasty tone, like he was doing me the favor of a lifetime, without even looking back up at me, he said "yeah". And went about his business of picking his nose and starring at the wall. So, I walked back over to Keith who was still busy and asked him to run the numbers for me on this particular bike, he apologized and said that he was busy serving somebody else still and if I can go back to the other guy for that info. So I did. Again, very respectfully I asked him to run the numbers for me, since I was not sure if I was going to buy it straight out or finance it. Once again, in a nasty tone he asked"are you ready to buy right now" which really should not matter. I replied "no" even though I had a truck outside with a ramp ready to take the bike home. I just wanted to see if he would actually do his job. At this point he said very loudly that people actually stopped and looked at us "so what's the "effen" point then, come back when you are ready to spend and I'll run all the "effen" numbers in the world for you. I understand, that I did not look like a millionaire, and that I was looking at a very expensive machine which is actually a toy, so I could of been looked at as a "tire kicker" as we say in the industry, but the bottom line is that I had the money to buy it out right with me and that this is no way to treat potential clients. On top of it all, it turns out that this guy is the sales manager. To the owner of the shop: you have a great place with great products but this Paul Yankowski is not good for business. To the potential new clients, give this place a chance but steer clear of this unprofessional person. And to Mr. Yankowski, you need to pick up a "being a salesman for DUMMIES" there has to be a lot of information in that publication that you have no idea about. read more
