Within the first 15 minutes of meeting Howard, the only salesmen on the floor that day, he assumed the lady I was with (who rides) wanted a starter bike without ever taking the time to ask her if she had a license and was capable of riding, or better yet, ask her what she wanted. Dave at Motofit was a nice guy and gave me a fair deal on a new KTM order. I waited months and kept being told the bike is coming. By the end of May. By the end of June. By the end of July. Around this time I noticed everyone else was getting their bikes. I asked him twice to call his KTM rep. He told me he did and rep said it was coming. I finally called KTM in Ohio and had them look in to it. They called back 3 days later and said it is not coming and "Motofit is not eligible to get that model." What a waste of time. I actually believe Dave thought he was getting the bike as he even ordered parts for it at his expense. His rep however should not have a job with KTM....he should be flipping burgers. Friday 12/1/17, After telling the dealership that I have contacted the better business bureau because of their mistreatment Motofit finally called me and said via voice mail to pick up the bike, with no details given. I was not able to answer because of where I was, nor the following day 12/2/17 either. That same day 12/2/17 I was left a message by Dan stating that if I did not call them back that same day I would then begin to be charged storage fees, which I am sure is coming from Mike. Ironically, after not calling me when they were supposed to for four and and half months, nor when they repeatedly promised to, I get one day? When I was finally able to on 12/3/17 I emailed Motofit and asked if the bike was fixed, test ridden and what the final bill was because I will not converse with these liars and their responses should be put in writing but they will not answer me in writing. I have obtained a lawyer and will proceed with taking Motofit to small claims court. All I ever wanted from these people was to be treated with respect and to have my bike which I love and purchased FROM THEM, fixed. Even after four and a half months, multiple broken promises and lies, (and countless other similar negative reviews from former customers) they are still unrepentant and following up with more bad behavior rather than just doing what they promised, that's all, do what they promised; fix and return my valuable property to me. Worst experience ever. I left the bike there over 1 month ago for a general maintenance checkup. I was told last week that the bike would be ready this past weekend. When I called today the real story came out, the parts weren't even there. Tired of the lies I went to pick it up to take it elsewhere and they would not let me take the bike until I paid for the parts that hadn't even arrived. Dropped off my Bimota Tesi(Ducati powered) for a full service, it had been in storage for 10 years. I was told that it would take a while to get everything for it. Engine Service, fluids, tires, brakes, hoses and any other parts. A minimum of $3,500 for the bike service. Over two years and excuse after excuse they told me that they could do nothing. The service department could not work on a older Ducati motor. Said they would send it to another Ducati dealer who could actually work on this bike. They said that they had done nothing of the service. In fact they had tried to service the bike and had taken part of the engine apart. When the bike was sent to the other dealer they failed to include the parts taken off the bike. They said tht they had sent a box of parts, but nothing came with the bike. They then proceeded to blame the other service shop and said it was not there problem. Told me that it was now my problem and would not help me to get replacement parts. We have been trying to get what is needed, the parts are difficult to find. We are getting prices over $3,000.00 to replace what they lost. I spoke to Dave the manager who told me that they would not help and that I should do what I needed to do, not his problem. Time to contact the better business bureau and have them shut down! This place will never change. I've tried multiple times to do business with them and it always ends up the same way. Showed up at 5:15 on a Friday after driving from Shelton to see they're closed. Google maps clearly says they're open till 6:00. A guy saw us and came to the door which I thought was cool until he spoke. This is quite possibly the worst dealership in the country. For every one star review, I GUARANTEE there is a planted 5 star review from an insider there. I bought a KTM 300 erzberg rodeo and they did not put ANY of the aftermarket parts on the bike that it comes with. I checked with multiple dealerships and KTM customer service. Everyone said it was strange and that the parts weren't required to be installed, but everyone does it. Everyone but motofit. The salesman were unprofessional. When I questioned them about installing parts, the salesman said the hand guards were "gay, and he'd never put them on his bike". They were a nightmare to get paperwork from and even worse to get on the phone. I can not say this enough. Do not go here. I'm not one to bad mouth business'. I understand I COULD HAVE just had a bad experience, but I think the other reviews speak for themselves. Did I ultimately get the bike? Yes. Am I happy with it? Yes. I was very apprentice because of the yelp reviews but not only did he answer my questions regarding my Ducati recall but my bike was handled immediately and professionally. I went search for my next motorcycle on the Internet and found MotoFit Motorsports advertising the bike I wanted at the best price on the entire East coast. After a couple e-mail exchanges Mike was going to deliver me my new bike for $1000 less then the retail price. Had the buyers order and VIN ready to go. Being too eager to wait a couple of weeks I found the same bike for $500 more at a local dealership and pulled the trigger with them instead. AVOID THIS PLACE!!! This review might sound similar to past reviews, but everything that other people have said is true and I made the same mistake by bringing my bike here. I wish I had read the reviews prior to deciding to getting my bike fixed. The only reason I brought my bike here was because this is where I bought my 2015 Ducati Scrambler. As other people have said, this place is full of lies and excuses and they give no thought or care to their customers. From saying that parts weren't there to making up more excuses to charge more. My motorcycle was brought in mid March for a tire change, oil change, and to fix an ignition problem causing the bike to stall that was from a recall with certain Ducati motorcycle models. They never called to follow up and we had to show up and pressure them to work on the motorcycle. We did not get the motorcycle back until July and charged over $2,500 for a bike that only has 3,000 miles on it! As another person said this place should get no stars. I am baffled by how Ducati would certify this dealer to represent them. This place is a scam and they have zero respect for their customers and honestly have no idea what they are doing. I will never be returning here ever again, one of the worst experiences of my life. I too will be reporting this place to the better business bureau for their mistreatment and negligence. People have been writing reviews since 2017 and they seem to not care about improving anything that they do. Worst dealership ever. Waited 4 weeks for a back ordered tire that I never got. They never checked in with the distributor or even offered an alternative. I was told that "it would Come in when it comes in" and that a special order wasn't refundable. I was patient, very patient. I had a great experience with Motofit. Went there on Saturday and they had the 2017 KTM Duke 690 in stock that I specifically wanted. Got a good deal on the bike and the sales manager, Dan, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful throughout the entire process. He himself delivered the bike to my house three days later, and he took about 30 minutes going over the features of the bike and then the paperwork to complete the sale. If you dropped everything you were doing right now and went to motorcycle mechanic school, you would still stand a better chance of fixing your bike before they could. I purchased a brand new KTM from them, besides having the title ready for me, every single thing else was wrong. The mechanic did NOT set up the bike correctly. Took me hours of my time to get right. Headlight blew out on second ride...took them over three weeks to replace. ( parts guy was NO help) Sherry the receptionist was able to track one down for me in twenty minutes (after waiting 3 weeks) The bike itself is awesome KTM'S rule... just do yourself a favor, and purchase it somewhere else. I literally signed up to Yelp just to review this pit. I know its 2015 and automotive vehicle dealerships are mostly awful and just a nuisance in the buying process, but this place is something else. As a biker you expect a certain level of respect and courtesy from dealerships because less than 3 % of the country actually rides. I called up to make sure I could test ride a new Scrambler on a Saturday. I was assured it was no problem and to just bring my license and insurance card. I get there after an hour drive and am told not only do they not test ride the scrambler but they don't test ride on Saturdays at all. So at this point am I to assume that a random buyer just happened to pick up the phone and politely speak to me for 10 minutes and try and make this place look awful? Possibly, given the reviews already on here, but not likely. After telling the salesman that I didn't understand what an enormous hassle it was for me to test ride an 8k bike on a Saturday afternoon with full gear and a valid license/insurance card, he obliged to let me ride it...after it was brought around back for a quick 15 minute prep. An hour later and I'm driving home while the bike sat in a "completely swamped" garage with one other bike, still being prepped. I cannot emphasize how terrible this place is with only 1 review, avoid at all costs. Go to the dealer by Bear Mountain if you want service and or any modicum of professionalism. P.S. The fact that no one from this "dealership" has even bothered to respond to any of the reviews from this smorgasbord of unabashed hatred and negativity speaks volumes. Terrible follow up. I have called them 2x in the past year trying to give them my money, but they don't seem to want it. I called them a year ago regarding boots, asking if they could check on size for me, "sure we'll call you back." Fast forward to this week, I had to call them 5 times over the past week trying to get a clutch lever, it was literally like pulling teeth trying to get an answer. Try to support a local KTM guy. He had nothing but good things about the dealership and Dan, the sales representative that sold him the bike, which he also expressed in his review (See review from Michael D). He loved that bike and was so excited about it, but sadly he passed away suddenly in December. It breaks my heart that he only got to ride that bike maybe five (short) times. Although I can't comment on the service department at MotoFit because the bike was new, I can say that they will go out of their way for their customers. I can't say enough good things about Dan. Not wanting to sell the bike as a single female with absolutely no clue about it, I decided to call Dan since my husband had so many great things to say about him. He was nothing but helpful and honest about my options. So first and foremost thank you motofit team for helping fix my bike, especially mike for going out of his way to calling Kawasaki for a part I needed. My part came in after a week, and I brought my bike in. One of the mechanics there went out of his way and did the replacement part fairly quickly. As I stuck around watching him work on my bike, all the workers there were telling me great information about the bike owned and what upgrades I can do to it. They are a very good dealership, besides one thing that I see why everyone is giving bad reviews. It looks as if they are short in hand so everything is just piling up or backing up on work. The sales staff is only one person that actually try's to help but he will say anything to make a deal. Bait & Switch tactics and/or incompetent employees Found a used motorcycle from this dealer online that I wanted. Originally they gave me a very low price (about $1500-$2000 below what I expected). I spoke with them on the phone where we figured out it was a mistake. No big deal. I asked them what the real price was and they gave me another price. We negotiated a deal from there (with manager approval) and I told them I would stop by the next day. I called the next day before coming to make sure Dave, the sales guy I was speaking with, was free. He told me the bike was in another warehouse and he had to wait for his manager and would call me back. He never called back, so I called back 2 hours later and a sales manager, who claims he owns part of the place, answered. He had no idea about the apparent deal I made with the other manager and sales guy, and then told me that he couldn't do that price, and asked for $1000 more. I was able to get him down $600 but it was still $400 above what I was originally told they would sell it to me for. In the end I'm not sure if they did this on purpose to try to bait me in, or because the employees (including managers) are completely incompetent and shouldn't be negotiating deals at all. I wasted an entire day running around to prepare to buy this bike only to be eventually hung up on by the sales manager. No one at this place is trustworthy and I will definitely be staying away. read more
