I have not met Mr. Hamlin, but I contacted him recently when I had some technical questions about a new Moto Guzzi that he had in his dealership. Specifically if the rear-facing radar system could be added as an accessory. Other dealers told me that it was not possible. Mr. Hamlin told me that yes, it should be possible but he would confirm with Moto Guzzi and get back to me. Indeed, Mr. Hamlin called me a few days later and told me that he was correct and that indeed the radar system (blind spot warning and lane change assist) could be added to the model in which I had an interest. - I picked up a 2017 Triumph and asked a friend [who rides Harley] if he could recommend any place to take my new-to-me Bonneville T100 for general service and a roadworthiness check. He told me to take my bike to Hamlin Cycle without hesitation, and his advice was spot-on. - They did the seasonal setup for me, and another service to install crash bars, and I just went back for new tires. There was a minor hiccup with one item that they thoroughly took care of without any static at all. Finding an honest shop is a big deal in 2024 and integrity cannot be understated. - The showroom and the shop are clean - that's one of the first things I look at. If a shop takes care of their stuff, then they'll treat mine well too. The labor rates are fair and the staff is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. - Following on another review - they sell bikes, but this strikes me as a genuine bike shop more than a dealership. This isn't a discount garage, but do you want the cheapest guy in town working on your bike? Competence and integrity. If the world ran like Hamlin Cycles, we'd all be much better off! On a 7,000 mile trip far from home I stopped in for a new rear tire and to get some pesky error codes cleared (PO had let the battery die; low voltage creates issues). I left with a new tire, a shiny clean bike, gaskets and filters for future service, tips and stories, and many smiles all round, all at a fair price. I can't recommend Hamlin Cycles enough. Plenty of work bays for the mechanics Great selection of new and used motorcycles Clean, bright, and on a main street Able to work on virtually any motorcycle no matter how exotic - after all, they deal in Moto Guzzi and Aprilia. as primary brands, and Jim's personal history extends into the major Japanese marques as well. On my visit an owner had just brought in a BSA Gold Star..... They have a customer lounge that must be seen Go and see. Buy a Guzzi or Aprilia ot take yours there for service. read more

I have ridden my 2007 Moto Guzzi Norge whenever I wanted because I get it serviced by Jim Hamlin. I am a completely incompetent mechanic. I take this bike to Hamlin's at the service intervals, and it works like a charm; the weekend rides I take are immensely therapeutic and allow me to balance out the rest of my life. I would prefer that he charged less, but I say that about everything, and never regret giving him my money because it's worth it Go there and you will be happy!!!! read more

I first discovered Hamlin Cycles when I was searching for a speedo for a 2004 Guzzi Cali Titanium. I took a wild stab and emailed Jim the owner. His response was prompt and helpful. Jim had what I was looking for and his staff shipped it that day. ( I am a couple States away). Fast forward a month or so, me and the Cali were cut off. I survived... the Cali . Soon I was looking for my next Guzzi. I set my search on a Norge. Again, I reached out to Jim for his guidance and he was instrumental in my decision. A couple months go by and my newly acquired Norge was approaching its 12,000-mile service. At this point there's only one place I was going to have the work done. I took the 3-hour trip, (which I am sure many riders do). It was a true pleasure to meet Jim and his staff. Great shop, knowledgeable personnel. Along with the 12,000-mile service Jim diagnosed and fixed and oil seepage issue as well as installing an updated horn, that was pressed into service just a few hours later. As I left, Jim asked me to email him when I got home so he knew I made it home in one piece. That will not be my last trip to Bethel for service. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR BIKE HERE. Charged almost $700 for a new battery and fluid changes on my Moto Guzzi Breva 750. I had another shop quote the same work for $370, almost HALF the price. Told me the bike would most likely be ready Saturday, and when I came Tuesday to pick it up, it wasn't ready and the guy at the front desk argued with me denying he said it would be ready. When I picked up the bike I politely asked if they would consider taking down the price a bit, and the owner came over and asked "Are you questioning that I did the work?" Overall a terrible experience being overpriced and bad customer service. This will be the last time any of my bikes go here. I would give 0 stars if I could. read more

Jim Hamlin is a top-notch mechanic with a work ethic and integrity as spotless as his gorgeous shop. I took a poorly running bike to him and he diagnosed the exact issue within seconds of riding it from the driveway to the lift. He clearly and patiently explained the issue to me, and pointed out that the previous service group had installed incorrect spark plugs as well as likely cracking a resistor in the plug cables. As he worked on the larger problem, he pointed out small improvements or issues and fixed them along the way, asking for permission to act on each of his suggestions (so no surprises when the bill came). I rode out on a bike 100% better than the one I rode in on. Despite being a bit of a haul from my home, i am never taking my bike to another mechanic. Jim knows his stuff, his staff is friendly and hardworking, and he runs a very high quality organization. He's also anti-BS - he knows what he knows, and doesn't pretend to be an expert for brands outside of his experience. You can't go wrong with Hamlin. read more

Hamlin's is unlike most other bike shops. They don't deal in ATV's, Jet-Ski's, etc....This is an old-school MOTORCYCLE shop. Competent, knowledgeable mechanics that you can have real confidence in (rather than the hit or miss experience you'll find elsewhere). They sell Moto-Guzzi's and Aprilia's but I see this place more as "a shop" than a "dealership". They work on my Honda CB1100 and I've been completely satisfied. They are also friendly and appreciative which is unusual these days. That matters to me. They aren't cheap but at least you feel as though the job has been done correctly. You get what you pay for. Update: these idiots miss diagnosed the problem with my motorcycle which cost me $420 for a part I didn't need. They also did not give me back all of the parts for my carbs, I was missing screws, nuts and hose clamps. This shop sucks. read more
