I Do NOT recommend . First off I went in because I needed tires, I had a blow out in my rear tire and decided to just get both replaced. So, the tires were a little pricey and the labor charge was insane. But I value quality over price so I went for it. The tires are terrible (Michelin) it doesn't seem balanced and it just doesn't feel right. Usually with new tires I get this secure sensation when I ride ( not this time) Secondly, they were pitching me on other services that I found strange because I just had them done at a school with an instructor. Thirdly, on my way home, my storage box fell off my bike on the freeway, when I went back, they claimed they hadn't touched it, it was odd to me because, I ride everyday and had no issues. Lastly, instead of apologizing, I get a mechanic yelling at me saying i was at fault. When I asked to speak to the owner, I was told that he lives out of state. After all this mess I spent hours reading past reviews and found that others had similar experiences, but my biggest takeaway was how the owner/s replied to some of the commentators. I found it defensive, rude and never taking accountability, always deflecting the bad service or work they've done. Truth is truth, my review is based on my horrendous experience I had at this place of so called business.

In my own experience I bought a tire and I paid for the installation , I noticed that they applied a bunch of Vaseline petroleum jelly all around the tire so quickly and without asking me for approval, I didn't ask why since they claim to be professionals., as soon as I left the shop and I tried to make a right turn l felt to the right without warning, the bike felt on top of my right leg in the middle of the street trapping my leg, breaking m right side mirror and my front brake. I couldn't get up but none of the employ or that shorty owner of the shop came to help or at least come and see f I was OK. One of thei customer helped me lift the bike so that I can get my leg out of it, but if I hadn't ask for help I don't know for how long I would have remained laying down in the middle of the street in front of their shop , risking my self getting hit by a car, I bro the bike back inside the shop and had them install a brand new brake lever and a mirror, I asked them why they put grease on the tires even if they are used tires, and they said it was mandatory to do that to all tires sales.

I brought my motorcycle in after a low-speed drop that left my steering feeling notchy. Shawn and the team did a thorough front-end inspection, including test riding the bike, checking alignment, and identifying that the steering head bearings needed to be replaced. On top of that, they had no issue honoring my request to double-check the wheel bearings, front suspension, and rear wheel alignment. It's now been 1,500 miles and a full track day since the service, and I'm still extremely satisfied with the results. The bike feels planted, smooth, and confidence-inspiring. If you're looking for honest, detail-oriented work and excellent support -- Tokyo Moto is the place to go. I'm very grateful for their help.

Here's what stood out though: instead of feeling like it was time to dip out after the test ride, I ended up staying there for several hours just talking. Not because anyone was trying to "sell" me something the moment I walked through the door, but because they were genuinely great to talk to. I mostly worked with Josh and also spoke with the manager (super chill and easygoing) and a couple of other employees. At no point did I get the sense of "this is what YOU need." Instead, it felt more like, "Here are some options, let's talk bikes," with a few jokes thrown in along the way. In the end, I went with a different bike that they didn't sell. But the experience still left me wanting to support this shop any way I can. They have plenty of bikes that a great for most riders in the city, a knowledgeable staff, and fair pricing. Thanks to Joshua for the knowledge, help, and great conversation.

Each person associated with the business that I interacted with was great. They answered all my questions, and made it a worry free experience. They offer delivery, and the while process was straightforward and easy. The actual store was really cool, with tons of bikes on display. The use of shipping containers was cool too! It's been a while since I purchased the bike and wanted to wait a while before leaving a review, just in case. Everything with the bike has been great, and I've been enjoying it ever since. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

I've been riding scooters for 20 years in SF as my main transportation for work. 18 months ago I was referred to Moto Java because my scooter was about to die and I'd need a replacement soon. Mike, Ben and their team at Moto Java gave me an honest assessment about what needed to be fixed, gave me an itemized invoice showing me it'd be better I traded my old scooter for parts and bought something new. They appreciated I was an experienced rider, knew what I wanted and didn't try to oversell me on something I didn't want and gave me a fair price for my trade in. My previous scooter dealers/mechanics have given me a wide range of mileage for routine maintenance. Mike and Ben gave me an easy, clear number to remember so I bring my scooter in for routine maintenance based on the specific scooter I bought. Every time I call for an appointment Moto Java gets me in fast and finishes earlier than estimated. They also give me an itemized receipt of what was done and a heads up to what the next maintenance bill will cost so I'm not caught off guard. My review is based on my scooter that I bought from Moto Java. However I know they sell and service and sell a variety of motorcycles like long range highway motorcycles to mountain bikes to scooters. Moto Java is easily accessible off S Van Ness. Mike and Ben are always up for a chat about what they sell, no pressure sales and offer honest estimates about any repairs you might need. Definitely check out Moto Java.

Nini at the front desk was absolutely perfect for the job imo: compassionate, reassuring, and exactly what a first-timer needs before throwing a leg over a bike for the first time for real. Freddie and Henry were great too, really easy dudes to talk to and very helpful with sharing tips and other pointers for me. I'll be honest, I dropped the bike an equal number of times on both sides over the weekend, all at zero mph (embarassing af). Symmetrically bruised ego, perfectly balanced. Returning it felt intimidating, but the whole team handled it with zero judgment and genuine professionalism. I didn't try to hide anything and they made the whole process painless, albeit with some monetary penalties caused by my inexperience (I own up to this though). I'm leaving with my wallet lighter but with my heart genuinely fuller for the experience. The environment this shop creates for nervous beginners like me is genuinely rare, and it made me feel supported and motivated to come back and do better next time. Will absolutely be back for my next rental and keep getting ride time in, because real experience gained like I did is priceless. The human element of the shop is just cherry on top, and makes me feel good I'm supporting a local business. Shoutout to Nini, Freddie, and Henry. You made a squid feel welcome.

I could have bought another bike for around $4,000-$6,000 but this one had sentimental value, so I decided to invest in restoring it. I dropped the bike off and asked them to make it "cherry"--fix it up properly and make it ride like it should. Make it look like new and reaooy aprae no expesnse its sentimental bike. They had the bike for about a year. During that time, I called regularly and was repeatedly told, "It'll be done this week." That went on for months. I stayed patient because I assumed the long wait and roughly $7,000-$8,000 cost meant they were doing a thorough, high-quality job. When I finally picked it up, things immediately felt off: They tried to charge a 3.5% fee for using a credit card. Ok, so I used Zelle, I attempted to pay via Zelle, but due to limits and delays, they refused to release my bike unless I paid in full immediately. I ended up paying theCC fee just to get my bike back after a year. Then the real issues started. The gas tank was completely empty when I picked it up. It happens, could but it could hsve been a shitty tming thing BUT After putting $20 of gas in, it them tank, started leaking immediately. Since then: The bike is still hard to start Parts are loose (a handle knob fell off the next morning and I ran it over and smashed it on accident Overall, it feels like very little mechanical work was actually done. At this point, it honestly feels like I paid $7k+ for a paint job and a basic tune-up. The bike is still in poor condition and nowhere near what I expected after a year in the shop. The staff was really (the son) polite, and I don't have anything personal against them--but from a service standpoint, I feel completely ripped off. I wanted to support a local business, but I would not bring my bike back here under any circumstances. IT sticnks beverecuaseI have an older go cart that has sentimental balie tahy needs even more work snd wold mske them a lto of $$$ but not from me...EVER AGAIN. I';d sta away unlesits a basic tire change or easier.....STAY AWAY! Buyer beware.
