My wife and I stayed in town overnight a couple Saturdays ago and thought we'd try this place out. I gotta say, it was as good as any fast food I have ever had. First off I've never seen shrimp & grits offered in a drive thru restaurant and it did not disappoint! Along with the chicken & waffles it was absolutely fantastic. But what really blew me away was their house made vanilla ice cream. Straight up The best SH#T I have EVER had. I would drive out of my way to make a return trip. Then do yourself (and this business) a massive favor and go eat at Motlee's. Trust me. The smash burgers are peerless, and the waffle fries are the best I've ever had. They have a very diverse menu, and I've really wanted to try their chicken sandwiches- I just can't bring myself to order anything besides a double smash burger, because they are that damn good. I've tracked down all the most highly reviewed burgers in Duval, Nassau, Columbia, and Alachua counties. This one beats them all, and it's no contest. Oh, and to top it all off, the service is exceptionally fast and friendly. The staff are the best and are always happy to guide you through the menu and answer any questions you may have. I can imagine, after a weekend of paddling the Okefenokee, a meal here would be exactly what the soul needs. The drive-thru makes it even more convenient. We had the Motlee's smash burger, the Nashville hot chicken sand and the Oreo custard. The service was extremely FAST and FRIENDLY and The food was absolutely Delicious! This place is not currently a chain but we wish they were as we are from out of town, we would come again and again. with their large variety of options, I don't think we would get tired of it anytime soon. I would probably enjoy the custard a little more if it was mixed with a milkshake. read more

We saw that this eatery opened recently (another local establishment is apparently having a sign war with them too). checked the menu online saw some tasty sounding plates so we can stopped by. they werent very busy despite it being friday early evening. menu said they did not have any of their plates but the person working drive thru said they had their shrimp and grits plate. im always game to try shrimp and grits. my wife decided on their double burger with waffled sweet potato fries. employee was very friendly/courteous and told us they should have all plates and breakfast soon. we drove around and had just a short wait before another courteous employee gave us our food. you will see from the photos (even though I am not the best photographer) The shrimp and grits looked good although the portion size was not that large. my wife's burger was tasty as well she even let me have a few bites and give me a third of it after she was full otherwise I'll let her describe what she thought of it but I thought it had good flavor. onto my meal, normally I prefer my shrimp and grits with a standard roux but this did not come with a roux. however it did come with bacon green onions and creamy grits. six medium size shrimp was the protein. my first few bites i felt meh, although I shared with my wife she said the shrimp had good flavor when paired with the grits and other ingredients. as I dug in further the flavor really came through though. refinish the shrimp and my wife shared her sweet potato fries and some of her burger with me as noted above so I didn't finish the grits. came with two pieces of garlic bread that were OK. overall, between the flavor of the shrimp and grits and of the burger, the friendliness of the staff and promise of breakfast and more plate options like Nashville hot chicken in the future, we will definitely be back. read more

We travel a lot as full-time RVers. So, eat a lot of fast food, but also try local places as much as we can. Saw Motlees, didn't recognize the name. Found out they are fast food AND local!! I stepped to the counter, announced that it was my first visit, and asked for advice/suggestions. The staff were extremely friendly, true Southern hospitality. I decided to order the Nashville hot barnyard (chicken) sandwich. O.M.G. That first bite was EXACTLY what I want from a chicken sandwich - crisp, but tender, and just the right amount of messy! Just stopped at Motlee's on the way out of town (Jacksonville) for the weekend. Line at zaxbys"salty's" was long so we decided to try Motlee's. So glad we did! Food was delicious! Hubby got the Smash-burger with waffle fries. It was a good burger! The sauce was good and lettuce tomato and pickles were fresh. I got the Korean yard bird and sweet potato waffle fries. Delicious!!! The combo of sauce, cilantro and pickled onions was yummy! The chicken was good quality, not skimped on cheap chicken because it was going in a sandwich! We both agreed that the sweet potato fries were delicious. We will be back! read more

Food was great. Real beef. We happened upon it on 2/2 Tuesday. We had two burgers and a shake for like $8.00. Service was friendly and fast.

My husband and I have tried Motlee's twice now and as much as I wanted to really like it, it just isn't that great. We got a few entrees and sides to just try everything. The Nashville chicken wasn't spicy at all and was small, the cheese burger was really over cooked and didn't have much flavor. The broccoli salad tasted like straight broccoli and ranch. The Mac and cheese was horrible, looks nothing like the picture on their website. It looked like noodles with butter, there's no cheese flavor and didn't taste like it had been seasoned at all. The only thing we had that was actually good was the fried shrimp platter with sweet potato fries. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and was well seasoned and the fries were fine. We were very worried about our available options in Macclenny. We stumbled upon Motlee's. It is a little obvious they are still working through new open jitters. I ordered a chocolate milk and got a coke, but that is on me I did not point out the error. We get our breakfast biscuits and drive on. That is the crispiest chicken I have ever had in my life, delicious! The biscuits crumbled so delicately as tiny biscuits fluffs bounced onto my steering wheel. I ordered the GOAT, not too spicy. WOW! We were passing through on our way to Orlando and looking for breakfast. The sign looked cool and we're always down to try something new. Every person in our party was thrilled with their breakfast. Between the five of us, we had a divine bowl, divine swine, hog bowl, biscuits and gravy, and a chicken biscuit. I really can't say enough good things about the food. The home fries were perfectly cooked, the biscuit was amazing, the gravy was delicious, the eggs were outstanding, I could go on and on. Travel stop - trying to stay out of getting off the highway closer to Jacksonville so we took a shot. They were short staffed so there was a wait to get the food - but that's not unusual anywhere in 2022. Just wasn't that wowed by the food. Both hubby and I got the classic fried chicken sandwich. It was okay - edible and better than some other places- but when you get down to it it was just another fast food joint. Nothing special or really different. We've tried this place twice. Probably the worst food in Macclenny! I ordered the backyard chicken plate. It was just two dried out flavorless prices of chicken breasts. It was burnt and inedible. The meal came with fries that I had to reheat in the air fryer and garlic bread that was so salty even the dog wouldn't eat it. I got a kids chicken sandwich for my daughter, once again totally overcooked and so tough she couldn't chew it. I basically ended up throwing $20 in the trash. read more
