Motive Hair Group was kind enough to offer free shampoo blow drys for those who have been out of water and power during the Texas storms (Feb 2021). The staff was so generous, nice and cute. Kelsey was amazing! The salon is also very cute because it's in an old building from 1920. There is construction surrounding the area, but I was able to find paid parking right in front of the Motive entrance. I will be returning! read more

I had an appointment with Sharon that was derailed by COVID (completely understandably) but I had a trip out of town coming up and needed a haircut incredibly badly. The owner, Drea, stepped in and took me very last minute and I could not be more pleased. My haircut is excellent and she honored Sharon's pricing for me even though COVID cancellations are no one's fault. She was so excellent, did an amazing job with my unruly grown out side shave, and got me rebooked with Sharon for and upcoming color, which I'm absolutely certain she will handle amazingly. It's a super cute little salon, very welcoming, and I'm looking forward to going back in a couple weeks for my color service. THANK YOU DREA for coming in and helping me out in a pinch. Beautiful little salon with the coolest sweetie pop of a hair magician, Drea!!! She expertly (and very safely--masks and our own area) cut my haystack into a lovely Brigitte Bardot face framing cut. She could sense I was nervous about taking too much off so we didn't, but I think I might do more layers next time---I trust her taste entirely. W O W. Y'all, just wow. Motive hair group is the place to do it if you need it done. These guys are absolute professionals, total badassess, and truly talented hair stylists. I got my cut from Drea, and was absolutely blown away - this was my post-quarantine cut, and I wanted to go from brittle long, thick hair to something more manageable. Drea literally sat down and talked with me prior to the service, a luxury I considered off the table with other 'high-end' salons I had poor experiences with. I then had the best haircut of my life - she was not only an expert in her craft but also fun to chat with and clearly loves what she does. I'd recommend Drea to anyone looking for a cut from a seasoned professional who will listen to your needs. For my color, I saw Koko - and hoooo boy, did she have her work cut out for her! I had used box dyes on my hair during the pandemic, and wanted to go from dark brunette to blonde balayage/ombré. During a coloring procedure that took me from a nightmare to my dream colors, I learned that Koko is a secret color correction ninja! First, she removed the cheap pigments from my box dye mishaps (it was quarantine, y'all) and then got in there with her color wizardry to turn a gross mousy brown into (no exaggeration) freakin CELEBRITY hair. I felt like a goddess walking out of there. If you are ready to start fresh with your hair after some boxed mishaps, GO TO KOKO!! She is an incredible listener and collaborator, and was very open and honest with what she'd be able to accomplish and the time frame needed. She worked super quickly to make sure I got the most bang for my buck. I'm so grateful for all her work and she's got a lifer client out of it. In conclusion - need a great cut or great color? I love Koko and Kelsey at Motive! They are both so sweet and definitely talented - I trusted them with my hair after 10 years away from the salon and I was soooo happy with the results. Kelsey gave me an amazing cut and didn't take off too much when I said I wanted to keep length (one of my big salon fears!), then Koko gave me the most natural highlight color that blended perfectly with my natural color!
