After waiting for quite some time, Sternak finally saw me and spent all but a few minutes on my ankle and he concluded that I had achilles tendon rupture and needed a tendon transplant. Yes, I double checked with him; he confirmed that it would need a transplant, either coming from a donor or from my own hand leaving two fingers no longer able to move independently. Not only did he not review the x-rays, his assistant never even gave them to him until I was leaving. Of course, I ignored all his talk of a surgery, since I was referred to him from a UCSF surgeon, specifically because the surgeon determined that I do not need surgeries. In the meantime, he ordered an ankle brace, and had his assistant teach me how to put it on. But she was so clueless that she struggled to put it on upside down and blamed that it was the wrong size. Sternak eventually figured out her error and put the brace on for me. Yes, the brace helped. At the time, I was just glad that my ankle was not hurting so much and that I was able run away from this clinic as fast as I could. As for the brace, I found the same brace at more than 50% off on Amazon.
