George is very professional, knowledgeable and was able to help my husband with his shoulder pain. He was very accommodating and was able to get him in quickly. I would highly recommend his PT clinic. read more

I would not recommend this therapist. He'll ask you to email the reason for wanting / describing your issue to schedule an appointment . After he reviews he determines if he wants to see you. In other words he screens your emails and he later denies you an appointment. He should be more professional and let you know from the beginning if he is accepting patients but he doesn't and makes you waste your time. read more

Met George for the first time yesterday and it was a great experience. He was attentive, professional and detailed. I have seen a few physical therapist in the past years and George is definitely the one I would recommend him without hesitation. read more

I 've seen three PTs over the past couple years for my chronic tendonitis, and George has by far been the most helpful in my recovery. He is incredibly knowledgable and has in-depth answers to any and all my questions. I was super down about how my injury was affecting my daily life and thought I would never get better, but thanks to George's guidance and expertise I feel like I gotten my life back. Physical therapy is one of those things you hope you never need to do, but if you happen to find yourself needing to do it i would highly recommend paying a George a visit. read more

George is absolutely superb. So thorough, answers all questions, and really works carefully & diligently on your body. I had a horrid neck constraint that would not be eased by any amount of stretching, massage, meditation, even hot tubs. George literally fixed me in 3-4 sessions! I run a ski & snowboard lesson studio and recommend him to staff & clients frequently. Highly recommended! read more

I found George through Yelp and decided to come here since it wasn't too far from my house, and I'm glad I did! I had sprained my ankle and it didn't seem to be getting better by itself, so I was looking for a PT to help speed up recovery. My doctor recommended seeing an orthopedist, but they didn't have any openings until several months in the future (so I started looking for more immediate treatment). I saw George once a week for about 2 months. Each session involved him massaging/stretching/icing my ankle, and my appointments always lasted the full hour. He also gave me exercises to do at home that ended up being really helpful. George is really nice and personable, and we always had fun chats and conversations each week (while The Office was playing in the background). Fingers crossed that I don't injure myself again, but if I do, I'll definitely seek George out for treatment, and would 100% recommend others to come see him too!! read more

Had really bad neck strain from working from home and could barely bend my head over to my shoulder. In a couple sessions of soft tissue work, I've regained full mobility of my neck and feel so much better. Highly recommend seeing George! read more

I came to see George 2 months after a Partial ACL tear. I was not doing great because my previous PT basically had me on an assembly line conveyer belt where I had almost no useful contact and made little meaningful progression. They were suggesting to my surgeon I should go under the knife. I felt pretty grim about it really. After changing to George on the surgeons recommendation, within 3 or 4 weeks my muscle strength returned. The exercises I was given were actually relevant and helpful. George helped me understand what the heck was going on inside my knee, which in turn made me more confident about my recovery, which in turn made my recovery even better. I'm back at it again and I have full confidence that my knee can stand up what ever I throw at it. A++ would see George again (if it wasn't for the fact that I never want to injure myself again) read more

After two back surgeries in 5 years, I've seen my fair share of physical therapists in the city and George is a standout. He's very knowledgeable, friendly and - unlike many of the larger PT companies in SF - takes the full hour 1:1 with every patient. He's able to do a lot of hands on work and give me plenty of exercises to do at home. He's also constantly researching/trying new techniques to continuously improve my treatment. He's been the only PT that's been able to give me relief from my sciatica lain. I'd highly recommend George to all my friends (and have already sent a few over)! read more

For me to write a review. 2 Things have to happen. 1.) I have to get along & like that person. 2.) that person better do their job well. Extremely well. Or I am not wasting my time. That said, after my bad cop intro. I am very glad that I chose George Haras for my physical therapy, after AC Joint Separation Surgery, after I snapped the 3 ligaments holding my clavicle to my shoulder blade. Without the surgery, I could not get back and do the things that I love. Like swim a mile in Aquatic Park, swim at Sava Pool. Or any of the other physical activities that I enjoy doing. So I take my rehab, after any sports injury, seriously. I am glad that I chose George after shopping around. Unlike other PT places in the Sunset, where you are treated like a number & herded like cattle; George takes the time and effort to make sure you are getting the right care inside of the time that you meet with him, and outside as well, with informative recap emails, of stretches, exercises, etc. Knowledgeable, kind, and a good teacher. The PT massages that George performed to my shoulder did wonders to working out the pain. Increasing blood flow. And helping with range of motion. I would recommend George to family & friends. A true professional. read more

Excellent. Hands on, great work. Good bedside manner. Easy to schedule and good location. Good instructions for at-home exercises. I do hope I never been George's help again but if I do get injured I will call George :) read more

I really enjoyed my session with Dr Haras, and most importantly he fixed my back pain and also gave me some helpful tips with the foam roller for future maintenance. Time was spent very efficiently, questions were answered, and we covered as much as we could within the hour. Facilities are nice and clean, easy parking in the neighborhood, and plenty of equipment from the front gym to be creative with therapeutic solutions. Would highly recommend! read more

Found George through my ins company and so glad I did! I "Yelped" him and found great reviews and went on his website. Loved the fact that I can check my insurance and book an appt with him without having to call him (I'm anti-social when it comes to that).. Within a couple hours, George responded through email and confirmed my ins coverage and also confirmed what his availability was and how much my copay was. First appt, I parked a little further away cause I didn't know where the hell his office was lol. Didn't have a problem finding meter parking tho and his office is super close to Lou's sandwich if you were craving for some deliciousness lol Been seeing George almost 2x a wk for several months now for my neck pain. He's been a tremendous help in my pain and u might ask why am I still seeing him after a couple months? I'm to blame.. he gives me instructions and exercises for home.. and I try to practice that but with my wild baby, I barely have time. So, for anyone looking for a physical therapist, you should totally go to George. He's located right above a gym but that gym is pretty awesome too. The owners and trainers are super nice. They always say hi to me. It can be a little bit hard finding parking at peak times but you'll def still find one Another note, George takes a whole hour with you and never rushes you out and cleans before and after every pt. He's super funny, super easy to conversate with and super easy to make the whole appt feel like you were just meeting a friend to have lunch lol. read more

I've seen George for almost a year. He's very pragmatic and also give's great advice about working with your doctors. He is very flexible with scheduling (please don't be rude and cancel same-day or no-call/no-show). He has a great bedside manner, and is a good conversationalist. I've had a great recovery with George, first with a chronic tennis elbow injury, and then a subsequent broken shoulder from skiing way too fast at Squaw (doh!). With my limited knowledge it seems with my injuries he used traditional PT techniques, active release, McKenzie Method, scraping, and cupping, all with positive results. read more

Unfortunately for me I have torn both rotator cuffs (shoulder). One 5 years ago, one recently. In the first case, I went to a typical PT outfit and got 15 or 20 minutes with the PT and the remainder of the hour with aides who ran me through the routines. In the most recent case, I went to George. Instead of 40 minutes with aides and a short visit by the PT, I received a full 60 minutes of attention from a PT. The results, when compared to my last experience, have been very noticeable. George has been an astute observer of my progress, a great practitioner and teacher of in-office and out-of-office PT routines, and is an enthusiastic "cheerleader" to get me through this irritating chapter of my recovery. This is a truly "hands on" practice (inadvertent pun there) and I am very fortunate found him in the sea of PT factories operating in the City. read more

I basically shattered my elbow in a bad vehicle accident. Dr. Haras worked with me over a several month period to help return full mobility to my arm. He has a keen sense for exactly what kinds of therapy restore functionality across different ranges of motion. No nonsense -- just results. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a highly qualified physical therapist. The positive attitude he brings is also a great plus! read more

I had reconstructive ACL surgery and saw George a few weeks after my surgery. He is a very knowledgeable and experienced physical therapist and very personable guy. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing any work done post surgery or just trying to get full mobility back. read more

I've seen other good PTs over the years -- George was great. What sets him apart is his ability to listen and his willingness to meet you where your body happens to be. I worked with George after nearly a year of chronic lower back pain (a mild but persistently uncomfortable herniation in the S4/S5 area), e-stim, ice, traditional stretching exercises, etc. I'm convinced that George's program - specific stretching exercises and spinal manipulation/massage - was the missing piece to rehabilitation. He also gave me a better understanding of how my spine works with the rest of my body, which is something I continue to learn about through continued observation, stretching, and (take note, fellow back sufferers) Pilates -- something I never would have had the courage to try with my ailing back had it not been for George's help. Go see him. Thank you, George! read more

I was referred to a "large" physical therapist by my ortho (who I later found was run by the wife of one of the ortho's at their practice). After doing some research, I found George who has been awesome. Some highlights: 1) Personal care. He gave a thoughtful and detailed assessment where he asked a number of questions and listened to get a real understanding of my issues and long term needs. 2) Dedicated and skilled care. Unlike many PTs who give you a quick assessment and pass you onto an assistant, you get George's skilled and qualified attention throughout the whole appointment. As I'm early in my treatment, he has provided a combination of manual care (i.e., hands on), exercises, home treatment and continuous and attentive care. I get George's dedicated attention for the duration of my 45-60 minute session. 3) Ease of doing business: easy to reach, flexible schedule 4) Accepts insurance, including the Covered California. see his website for in-plan insurance 5) Easy parking: Beyond taking time from your day to go to PT, you don't need to waste time finding parking. It's always been easy to get close parking (especially if you're on crutches like me). I highly recommend George for personal, dedicated and skilled care. read more

I've been with George for the last few months. I've been feeling significantly better. He's a very personable guy to spend an hour with and is down to chat your ear off about Bay Area sports! Great natural lighting in the office, by the way! read more

I saw George for about 6 weeks, two times a week. He helped me enormously with my knee problem, and gave me all the information I needed to get well and stay well. He is knowledgeable and personable. Great sense of humor. read more

Great PT so glad I found George. He listens to you and does his magic wonderfully. My lower back felt so much better after just one visit.

George Haras Physical Therapy has been an incredible blessing to me in my recovery. If you want to find a PT clinic that combines easy scheduling, good location, price and top of the line treatment then this is the clinic to go to. As a fellow healthcare professional, I feel like I have an insight into good healthcare and this is definitely it. I have been informed every step of the way from billing to expected treatment plan and future expectations. My results have been good thus far and I thank George 100% for that. read more

George was referred to me by my orthopedic surgeon and I had started seeing him out of convenience for living near by, but have been very impressed with his knowledge of my injury (fractured patella) and of my recovery needs. My sessions aren't quite over but I wanted to sing George's praises before I forget and thank him for his quality PT work. I actually like our sessions and kinda look forward to them. read more

We found George through our insurance network. He was quick to pick-up the phone and work a schedule for our teenager to recover from a neck injury. Very professional and courteous. read more

Don't let the trappings fool you. George gets the job done as far as physical therapy goes and gets you healthy again. It's great that he is personally working on the injured area. This is a level of hands-on service that's almost impossible to find nowadays. Most physical therapists will just give you a few minutes of their time, hook you up to some form of machine or gadget, or pass you off to their assistant who watches you exercise. George does everything himself, which I think is great! read more

Saw George when I was having pain with my knee from past injuries. Was great in helping me understand movements to help strengthen the knee and got me back to performing squats without pain read more

I had a back injury and the nearest PTs to my home and primary care doctor had waits of 3 - 4 weeks. George was able to see might right away and he provided the best experience I have ever had, even better than all but one MD in my lifetime! His advanced doctoral training made him more knowledgeable than any PT or chiropractor I've met; his table-side manner is gentle, compassionate and educational and he made sure I left with a clear understanding of exercises I was to do between appointments. Find George before the rest of SF does, because by then, he'll have 3 week waits for new patients. Brian read more

I have been seeing George for the last 3 months since my shoulder surgery. My orthopedic surgeon recommended him and I have had great results under his care. His location is convenient and parking is easy. He always makes time to discuss your progress. Super happy:) read more

I was referred for PT for very painful arthritis in my knees. I went on Yelp and when I saw that George had all 5-star ratings, plus an office minutes from my home with parking, it was an easy decision. I, too, have had bad experiences with large PT offices. George provides wonderful care and treatment, is very knowledgeable, asks questions to get a thorough understanding of the problem and is a very personable guy. We chatted about lots of things during the 60 minute appointment while he does massage and stretching, explaining the reasons for and importance of the home exercises he assigns . Not only did he address my knee issues, but also my back and shoulder pain. I finished my sessions today but will be back when I need a "tune up". I highly recommend George if you need a PT. read more

This review is long overdue. A while back I injured my back lifting a heavy object. I had pain along my left leg. He did his magic and I was able to start working out a couple months after. Excellent. read more

I was borderline needing surgery for a SLAP 2 tear, bicep tendon tear, and generally messed up shoulder! I had no idea I had injured myself so badly until my shoulder froze up. I made the mistake of thinking my athletic habits and good body awareness would let me rehabilitate myself. Wrong! 6 months later my shoulder was nearly frozen. George patiently and gently brought me back to 95% of perfect without surgery. He is easy to reach, easy to schedule with, reasonable, professional, and handled all insurance issues for me. Thank you, George! read more

After years of dealing with various physical therapists and doctors to help mitigate my bilateral hip pain, my mom recommended George Haras as a hands-on physical therapist that had shown her great results for her neck pain. Although I was very skeptical due to a lack of success with other therapists, I decided to go. It was one of the best decisions I made all year. George is not only a funny and kind individual, but also an amazing therapist who incoporated hands-on work and physical exercises that challenged my instability issues, which was never addressed at other PT places. I came to George as someone who wasn't able to run without hip pain as well as work out without feeling impingement and muscle weakness and I left being able to run and feeling more confident in my hips and overall body. I am very grateful for George and the help he provided me. I truly enjoyed each session with him and felt equally challenged and optimistic. read more

George is incredibly knowledgeable, personable and has A+ services! Took a foam rolling class with him and wow, who knew you could do so much with a foam roller?! I completely recommend him to anyone looking for a PT! read more

George is awesome. He has been super helpful with several joint and pain issues. He does a thorough assessment, performs therapy in the office, very clearly explains what's going on, answers questions, and sends me away with clear instructions for exercises to do to fully heal. Each time, I have become pain free and generally stronger in the areas George addressed. I recommend George for anyone needing a physical therapist. read more
