Met a business associate out for brunch Sunday around noon. Wife joined me. Rave reviews across the board. Our servers name was either Kayle or Kayla but she did an amazing job. She remembered complicated, high maintenance orders without error (or even taking notes). I got the breakfast tacos, wife got the steak and eggs, and buddy got the salmon lox. I was finally able to get back to Mother's again. During my last few visits I wasn't able to go sadly. Thankfully on this visit Mother's didn't disappoint. It was Valentine's Day and the place was crowded with couples enjoying their food with roses and flowers on the table. Mary my waitress was perfection in her all around attitude and deminur. Mary was extremely service oriented and made me feel welcome. I chose the right dish, the meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes and a delicious salad. The meatloaf was very tasty with a great flavor, as was the garlic mashed potatoes. The salad all fresh greens and was a nice addition. Mary refilled my unsweetened ice tea at the right time Coming when I was literally at my last gulp. Kudos to Mother's no wonder why your crowded all the time. I live a couple of minutes from here and some friends are regulars so i wanted to try it. Our waitress was great. Sweet and super diligent. The ambience is super nice specially outside. We had one of the Flatbreads with beef , blue cheese and bacon which was good. I ordered the Philly cheesteak with slaw. Both of the dishes lacked flavor. Our waitress was nice and her service was good but overall the food service was slow. We waited a bit for our food and the food was cold and portion was a bit small. Thank you Mother's for hosting my birthday lunch. It was a total surprise that my daughter Rachel put together and I enjoyed it so much. It was my first time at Mother's and it's such a cute place. Love the atmosphere. And they have a really nice patio in front. We all ordered something different which was really cool. I had the Mothers Meat Lovers Flat Bread. It has a lil kick which I loved. Five star first impression based on a Saturday morning brunch experience. My party of four sat comfortably outside, at a high top table, on the enclosed patio. Heat lamps kept us toasty on that particularly chilly day. Service was friendly and the gluten allergies were handled swimmingly. The menu had many desirable options for gluten free people, including multiple omelettes. My group ordered the Chimichurri Steak with Eggs & Potatoes, Bacon & Eggs Burrito, Spicy Honey Chicken Biscuits, with hard cider, mimosas, sangria, and Bloody Mary's to drink. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection, well-portioned, and presented photogenically. Everyone absolutely loved their breakfasts, and agreed that we found a great place to meet up occasionally. I really enjoyed Mother's and sad it was off my radar up until this point but I went because they offer a "kids eat free" promo on Tuesdays. Cute place, feels neighborly. They have a nice extensive menu. The staff was polite and I liked their patio seating. Plenty of parking in the shopping center. I ordered the "Beef on Weck" with tater tots and it was very tasty. Absolutely Disappointed - Never Again I used to love this place, but after our most recent visit for brunch on Mother's Day, I can confidently say I won't be returning. Despite the restaurant being practically empty, we were inexplicably forced to sit outside. No explanation, no option--just shoved out the door like an afterthought. From there, it only got worse. It took over 30 minutes just to place our order. I did their "bottomless mimosas and sangria" for $25.99and received ONE mimosa after an hour. Completely NOT worth the price. When the food finally arrived--over an hour later--it was cold, flavorless, and a far cry from the quality we'd come to expect in the past. What once felt like a reliably good spot now felt like a bad fast-food joint running on fumes. We spent a grueling two hours at the table, mostly waiting. We never saw a manager, never got an apology, and our server, who was clearly overworked and juggling too many tables, was doing their best--but the experience was chaotic and uncomfortable from start to finish. It's truly sad to see a once-great restaurant fall so far. Avoid until they get their act together. read more

Cute neighborhood spot. We came here on a Tuesday and they had a taco Tuesday special. I like how they have specials on every day of the week. On Wednesdays they have wine night and bottomless wine. She seemed disengaged and often acted annoyed when we asked about the menu, which made for an uncomfortable atmosphere. While the food was good, her attitude really ruined our visit. Walked in expecting a diner and seemed more to be a bar, but turned out to be wonderful! Our server- forget his name, but it was 10 AM on a Sunday- was so attentive to my kids, as well as making sure my bottomless mimosa was never empty! The food is also amazing. What caught my eye on their advertisement was the coffee rubbed roast beef on weck. This is not a beef on weck. it was a prime rib which was fatty sandwich. No resemblance at all to a beef on weck, and at $16.99, very over priced. $3.00 to "up charge " to a side salad, on your plate, and barely enough aus jus for your sandwich. To add insult to injury, the sandwich was cold , and my wife spit out a chunk of fat. If we weren't on our way to a high school basketball game, we would have sent it back and had something other than what it was. To add a 3 1/2% service charge without warning on your check is getting ridiculous. mother the actual owner? when ask to explain the service charge, said the credit card company does that and we're not happy with it either. When I asked if it was for debit cards as well, which they do not get charged the same for use by customers, she said any card. So basically on top of high prices, customers are automatically charged an additional 3 1/2% assuming they are not paying with cash. She said you would pay the check and then get a refund of the 3 1/2percent when credit card companies are charging us interest to use the card, and then the business is also charging us to use the card, that seems to be a double charge. When you use your debit card which is not Credit, to directly debit your checking account you are now being charged 3 1/2% for that convenience Bottom line, overpriced, poor quality, marginal service. Never came back to ask if I wanted a refill on my four dollar iced tea. Fellow western New Yorkers and fans of beef on weck ,If you're looking for a beef on weck, this is not the place to go. We started coming here with our realtor/friend last year in April. We were sold on day 1. We've been back several times. We come to see Jericho turnpike band. We come as a couple. We come in large groups. We come here for the brunch on Sundays. We have never had bad food or service. I can't believe I haven't written a review. They always have different specials going on on different nights. They are always coming up with new drink ideas. We have had the beef on wheck, pizzas, and almost all brunch items. Yesterday we got to go food for a small gathering amid corona virus. We got meatloaf sliders, meatball sliders, fried pickles and Mac and cheese bites. It was all very good. We have ordered here three times atleast . Located in a nice plaza behind McDonald's, parking is plentiful and the outdoor dining area seems cozy for entertainment. Service was nice, attentive, and ordering was a breeze. We really wanted to like this place as they do have daily specials that can be ordered to go as well. However, we were not impressed with the food whatsoever. We ordered a of variety of dishes on the menu: Braised skirt steak risotto, meatloaf sliders, grilled chicken sandwich, chicken pot pie, sloppy Joe, Italian prosciutto flatbread, sausage Parmesan flatbread, Buffalo chicken flatbread, plain cheese flatbread with chicken. Not to get into too much detail but I do not recommend any of those items. Flat bread looks nothing like the pictures on Yelp. Let's just say my son got up halfway stopped eating and made a peanut butter sandwich for dinner, His plain cheese pizza somehow had jalapeños in the sauce . The red onion on other flatbreads was overpowering, toppings and sauce are scarce, and you mostly taste the breading. The risotto is a more expensive dish yet was made too oily with again - little to no sauce nor distinct flavor . Tasted mostly of oily pasta and unseasoned steak. The chicken pot pie was like soup poured into a container with a giant pie crust placed on top. The bottom part of the pot pie was nowhere to be found. Very disappointed as we would have loved to support local business on days where I simply don't feel like cooking. Unfortunately will not be coming back ...the search for a good restaurant in Westchase continues. read more

First time for dinner here... ordered the Monday Night Special. Chicken Pot Pie! Really good, slightly different flavor profile than I usually associate with the dish, sweeter, cheesier, and I would swear there was some nutmeg / cinnamon in there. It was very tasty. Had the Caesar salad also... it was excellent. I did not know it was going to be "Trivia" night... or we would have gone another night. Gets loud ( announcer with loudspeaker), and since the only "trivia" I know is literature, science and history based... it was not something I was interested in. And did I mention loud? This can be probably the best casual eating place I've been to in Westchase, Fl. We were seated in less than 10 minutes and the service was spectacular. Parking is easy as they are located in a plaza with several parking in front. They also have games for kids so perfect to take kids. We ordered: coffee rubbed beef on weck: extremely good, first time I try a plate where you have to dip your sandwhuch in coffee, the mix of flavors was unique and definitely a plate to order again Buffalo chicken grilled cheese: wow. That's describes it. Perfectly mix between cheese buffalo and making it not so sauce which reduces the sensation of grease but maintains a full on amazon flavor order order order Mother's Max burger: very very good, specially because Mac n cheese comes in a patty and not just thrown over it. If I could give a negative I would. Do not, I repeat, do not visit this place. Five of us decide to go there to eat lunch. We walk in and there's no one at the front desk. We waited for about five minutes, then a server who said somebody would be there soon decided to help us, and took it upon himself to seat us. We said thank you and they said the server would be by. BTW the place was about 25% full. Now about another 7-8 minutes no one comes around, so I asked the girl who finally came back to the front desk, do we have a server snd with a dead pan look, she said yes, somebody will be with you. Now the fun part, we saw one server walk to a few tables near by numerous times with no acknowledgement. Then we saw the original server who seated us walk around to a few tables again never said a word to us. I then asked thr young lady at the front desk a second time, do we have a server, and again, with a dead pan look said that someone is coming. At that point, we waited another five minutes, still nobody had come by to even acknowledge us And we left. My wife and I had dinner here on Saturday, as we had wanted to try this place for awhile now. My wife ordered haddock fish and chips. The food came out, and it was very good. The price was 19.00. The only issue was the portion was small. Typically this dish has 2-3 good size pieces of fish. My wife's dish had one medium piece, and an exceptionally small piece. I had ordered the chicken parm for 21.00. It was very good, however it might have been sitting for awhile before I got it, as it wasn't very hot. For the price, it should have come with a salad. The atmosphere was very loud, with the live music drowning out any conversation we would have had. Giving this 3 stars, as the taste of the dishes was on par, but portions and warmth were lacking, along with too loud for dinner environment. read more

Because the food was amazing, but we nearly had a pretty big mishap at the beginning. --- --- --- I've had Mother's bookmarked for a while, but for some reason, I was kind of on the fence about driving out to Westchase to visit. It looked appealing, but more like the kind of place I'd visit if I was in the area already. Now that I've been, I'm kicking myself for having that attitude - the food is absolutely great here! My wife wanted to visit because it was our son's first Easter and their website mentioned that there would be an Easter Bunny in the house for photo ops. We had no idea how our baby would react, if at all, but he acted like meeting that bunny was the best thing that's ever happened to him. Another win for Mother's! We ended up ordering the following items: Mac-n-Cheese bites, Steak & Eggs and the French Toast Sliders. All three things were no-doubt-about-it home runs. Mac-n-Cheese Bites - these can sometimes sound a lot better than they actually turn out, but these were among the best I've ever had. They were exactly what you'd hope for when imagining breading a-top mac-n-cheese which is dipped in more cheese. How do so many places get this wrong? Steak & Eggs - The steak was churrasco with chimichurri, which is one of my favorite kinds of steak. I've never had it with eggs before and it was a wonderful match. French Toast Sliders - Anytime I'm eating breakfast or brunch, I always heavily debate on ordering something savory or sweet. Who doesn't love a fat stack of pancakes? But also, the post-meal food coma from all that sugar is never fun. With the french toast sliders, it was the perfect combination of savory and sweet. I felt like I got the best of both worlds. So with all of that well-deserved praise, why not 5-stars? We were nearly turned away at the start. My wife made reservations for 12:30p on Easter about 3 hours in advance. When we showed up, the hostess said she didn't see our name on the list. My wife mentioned that she made the reservation this morning, which led the hostess to say, "Oh, that's why. We don't even see the day-of reservations. We'll have to sit you outside on one of the couches, which isn't a real seat, but we can make it work, if that's ok?" Obviously, that wasn't ideal, but it was better than nothing. But unfortunately the couches were taken. The restaurant was only about 50-60% full, but the hostess said that they were about to be hit hard with a ton of reservations that had been made in advance. She asked us to step aside and said that a manager would be with us shortly. The manager comes out and apologies. He says that the owners were supposed to turn off the reservations this morning, but didn't. I asked why someone wouldn't contact us when the reservation came in, but he just kind of moved past my question without offering more than a "yeah...." I also mentioned that it frustrating to be told that there is no place for us, when there's currently 40+ open seats. Why not give us one of those tables and if literally every seat fills up before we are done, that those people will just have to wait a few minutes. He said he couldn't do that because those reservations had been made for weeks. But we made a reservation through their website, which was accepted, so why did that mean less? He said there was nothing he could do and sent us on our way. We walked away frustrated and started to try and figure out where we were going to go instead. My wife walked back in to ask if we could at least have a picture with the Easter Bunny, and when she did, the hostess said that someone just canceled their reservation and that we could have their spot. We were grateful for that, but pretty annoyed that we were at the restaurant for about an hour and a half, and until the last 10 minutes, at least 40% of the tables were empty. Even at the end, there were still a few empty seats. Turning us away would have been wrong and it nearly happened. I'm glad we got to experience Mother's though, because we thoroughly enjoyed it! read more
