My first birth was at her birthing center, & my second was at home. Both of these experiences were life changing for me. First, because they made me a mother. But second, because Karni helped me to realize what natural birth could be, & that I didn't have to be afraid of what my body could do. I feel blessed to have connected with her when I was pregnant with my first & didn't know what kind of birth I wanted - I just knew I didn't want what the western world has normalized for births, unless interventions became absolutely necessary. The first day I visited her birthing center, my mind had been made up & I knew I would give birth there. She told me to visit several midwives/birthing centers so I could make an informed decision but secretly I never did... best decision I've ever made. Me & my husband are forever grateful that she's our midwife & we look forward to birthing all of our future babies within her orb of power, however many we are blessed to have!

I happened to walk by this place at their old location on Ventura and am happy that later on I walked in. They carry some great and really reasonably priced breastfeeding supplies. I got a fantastic basic nursing bra for under $15, various parts for my pump, and my favorite milk storage bags (which are biodegradable and the same cost of the ones at Target which aren't). The selection of baby things (especially if you're looking for a baby gift) isn't particularly robust, but they truly have what you need to nurse. The new location is in my opinion, leaps and bounds better than the old. The space for classes is bigger, and parking (which you can find in the back) is much easier. It's also close to the VNSO park and trader joes so it's easy to swing by. I also cannot recommend highly enough the mommy-and-me classes I took there with Danielle Brooks. As a second time mom in wasn't sure if I needed a mommy-and-me class, but someone mentioned her class to me and I took a chance to go to it. Danielle truly taught me how to be a better mom, from gently crib training the baby to soothing the toddlers tantrums. It was one of the best decisions I made! All in all, this place is a great resource for moms in the Valley!

We interviewed a lot of doulas before deciding to hire Jen. I had honestly already selected a doula I wanted and almost cancelled the consultation appointment with Jen but something told me to keep it and I am so glad I did. After chatting with her I knew she was the one. Her energy and calming voice was exactly what I knew I needed! Jen has been there for me EVERY step of the way on this wild rollercoaster to motherhood! She is always just a text or call away and the amount of time I've called her and spent an hour or more on the phone with her just crying, venting, laughing or bouncing thoughts with her. She's quickly become one of my dear friends! At my birth she was pivotal, and kept me calm by helping with breathing tactics and pain management tools. She even helped me push my baby out. I am so grateful to have walked this journey and to keep walking this journey with you Jen! Thankfully we also added on her postpartum package and she has been spoiling me with yummy meals, foot and back massages, sitz baths and loving on my son. Jen is an absolute gem and I highly recommend her! Oh and I almost forgot she captured my birth beautifully too with photos and videos. And the education she gives during her prenatal visits are like nothing else any other doula does. Most doulas start there visits in late 3rd trimester and show up at the birth. The care throughout my pregnancy was unmatched because each appointment whether it was 30 minutes or over an hour was with Robyn! That means I really got to know her as a person, as a mom, and as a professional. I got to create a real relationship with the person who was going to help me deliver my baby. Robyn is so knowledgeable and has a way of making you feel good and confident in every decision you make. During my birth at home, she really let me guide and choose what I wanted every step of the way. It was so refreshing after three births in a hospital. She also had such a calming presence and during my really bad contractions would whisper affirmations and tell me to breathe my baby down. It was so helpful in those moments. My favorite part of using her is the access of care at all times. Whenever I had a question or concern I was able to text her and get help. Even after my son was born she is there for me. One month after birth I got a hemorrhoid and she squeezed me in to check me out immediately. Speaking with her is like therapy for me. Her passion for empowering women and choice is intoxicating. I honestly can't rave enough about the work she does and how good it felt to have someone like this supporting me for the past year.

What a blessing My experience was her being extremely responsive and supportive. Ask ALL the questions!!! Sometimes we don't know what all to ask which is okay too, she informs you on so much. Especially home aftercare. Regardless of what decision one makes on giving birth it's a magical and empowering one. Sending health and happiness to all mothers and expecting mothers. It helped us to really connect in a spiritual way before the baby came. I had no idea what having a baby would be like but I used many of the pain coping techniques she offered and I managed to make it thru 24 hours of back labor with no epidural! She went on to be an amazing contributor to my successful breastfeeding experience. I was so distraught in the first week because I was having so many issues with latch, confidence, timing, etc. Like most first times Moms- I was having a very difficult time nursing. She came to my house and helped me to understand the logistics of breastfeeding. After her visit my confidence soared, my heart was at ease, and I never had a problem with breastfeeding again! Never had to supplement another bottle! In fact, almost 2 years later I am still successfully nursing. Also, she knew that I was new to the area so she offered to hook me up with a like-minded Mama-to-be who she thought I would hit it off with. Well, sure enough, she's been a great friend of mine ever since and we love having playdates with our little ones! I feel forever grateful to Virginia and am so lucky to know her. She truly is an amazing woman, and I HIGHLY recommend any of the services she has to offer!

They are kind, knowledgeable, and supportive, but the front office and administrative side has been consistently frustrating. The administrative staff is disorganized and unprofessional. They frequently mix up appointment times, give conflicting information, and make even simple tasks feel unnecessarily difficult. They don't use email or an online portal to send updates, test results, or appointment confirmations, which makes it almost impossible to keep track of anything. Everything has to be done by phone, and the communication is often curt or dismissive. Another major frustration is that any time I need bloodwork, I have to schedule a completely separate appointment with a third-party lab instead of being able to do it in-office. This makes routine prenatal care far more inconvenient than it needs to be. I really wanted to have a good experience here, especially since the clinical care from the midwives has been positive, but the front-office management has caused so much stress and confusion that I'm choosing to switch practices. I hope they improve their administrative processes and communication in the future.
