When I needed it, she suggested helpful ideas to both mentally and physically shift things, and I can still hear her smart words in my mind when I think about my birth. She was there when I searched for her eyes, and she answered even my most impossible questions during intense labor. She had my back and my heart every step of the way. As our son was born, she whispered beautiful words into the space, which still gives me chills to think about. Immediately I knew his bedside manner was lacking but the second he slapped the ultrasound on me he basically gasped exclaiming that I had an "enormous" fibroid and was shocked that my OB hadn't noticed it. He labeled me high risk, pushed for more genetic testing despite me telling him I already had it covered by insurance elsewhere and the worst part, he declared I would not make it past 24 weeks. We left devastated. Im grateful my OB was not an alarmist and after reviewing the scans she told me that the fibroid was in a place that posed no threat. I ended up changing course entirely and chose an incredible midwife, delivered at 32 weeks, at home with zero complications and have a perfectly healthy child. This man ruined a solid chunk of my pregnancy because of his high risk tunnel vision. Avoid at all costs.

He had a great bedside manner, said ' there is nothing wrong with this baby's head' and helped me get my gestational diabetes blood sugar numbers in order, so even though nothing was wrong with my baby's head I am so glad that I went here! Their office is very welcoming and cute and it feels like you're hanging out in a living room and not in a medical setting which was great for my medical anxiety. My review is so low because of my final experience here where we found out my baby was measuring larger than expected. Not a big deal and wasn't a huge concern to me even if that was the case, but the way the information was delivered to me was extremely insensitive and unprofessional. Dr. Sharma told me that she "hoped that was the case for my pelvis' sake" followed by a chuckle when I mentioned that the measurements could possibly be off and that I'd handle the issue with my provider. That was the last sentence that I heard before I went into labor and it completely wrecked my brain going into it and made it way more difficult mentally than it needed to be because I had this underlying doubt and fear that I could not deliver my baby naturally (I did, by the way!) A chuckle after saying that is the last thing a very pregnant and emotional/sensitive mom, who is nervous about labor already, wants to hear from a medical professional. And it's something I might've expected from a typical ultrasound location, but I really expected more thoughtful and compassionate wording and care from this location. I felt cared for and supported by everybody at Pure Births through each prenatal and postnatal appointment. I literally cannot imagine how I would have gotten through my pregnancy without them. They listened to my every little worry, reassured me that everything was okay, and encouraged my preference of wholistic care. The hospital Rachel recommended was wonderful, and Brenna came to support me when I checked in, then returned hours later right before I gave birth and stayed by my side the entire time. The team of midwives was incredibly communicative in the week leading up to delivery, answering all my questions and never pressuring me to make a certain decision. They also continued to support me afterward with lactation help and guidance toward helpful resources.
