We recently hired Lynzi for the 3rd time for postpartum care with our 3rd baby. I cannot recommend her enough. She is punctual, easy going and trustworthy. She helped us with everything from grocery shopping to middle of the night feedings. She stayed with us 2 nights a week for 6 weeks and I did not want her to leave! She was a crucial part of our support system for the early postpartum period!

Lynzi and our healthy baby boy, just after his first at-home bath!

We hired Lynzi about halfway through my pregnancy, after relocating to Santa Barbara for work. Lynzi is calm and knowledgable, was (and is) easy to communicate with (attentive to texts, responds quickly, happy to chat through things over the phone), and was a steadfast presence throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. We are so happy with our experiences with Lynzi and highly recommend her as both a birth and postpartum doula! When we hired Lynzi, we were new to the community and didn't know many people. Lynzi helped us find a childbirthing class that was a great fit for us (through the Santa Barbara Birthing Center), and also provided excellent information/resources for us to prepare for labor/delivery and postpartum. Furthermore, she was very reassuring the closer I got to the end of my pregnancy and helped calm any concerns I had. During labor, Lynzi helped us make the transition from home to the hospital as calmly as possible. She was wonderful in coaching me through contractions, and I labored without pain meds for several hours. She also helped my husband with how to be most helpful and supportive while I was in labor. Unfortunately, I ended up having an emergency c-section. As lovely as the nurses and staff at the hospital were, my hospital stay was not pleasant (groggy pain meds, disappointment in having a c-section). But during that time, Lynzi was like the calm in the middle of a storm -- she helped talk though the information I got from the hospital (especially about lactation and feeding), which was really empowering for me, since I felt like so much had been out of my control with the delivery. Overall, I cannot recommend Lynzi enough and I am so glad we hired her. Even though I ended up getting a c-section, Lynzi's presence and support before, during, and after the birth made the whole experience of pregnancy, labor/delivery and the postpartum period feel somewhat more under my control.

We interviewed a couple doulas before hiring Lynzi; her experience and calm energy stood out. We are so happy to have had her along. As the dad during COVID, I wasn't able to attend any pre-natal doctor appointments. But once we hired Lynzi, i was able to be around when my wife & Lynzi met. Lynzi also coached me on how to support my wife and be of service during labor. You wouldn't attempt go climb Mt Everest without a Sherpa to guide you safely to the top. I can't imagine going through birth without a doula. And Lynzi is a great one; super experienced. We went to Cottage with a birth plan, and having Lynzi helped us stick to it. My wife had a long labor, early labor at home for about 30 hours, another 18 hours of active labor at the hospital, and then a quick transition to birth. All with no interventions. Our baby is healthy and mama is doing well. Thank you Lynzi!

    Happy now!

She supported us through those early stages with so much compassion and expertise, and the tools she shared were absolute game changers. Her thoughtful coaching and gentle, evidence-based approach made everything feel manageable. Thanks to her support, our baby was sleeping through the night before 4 months, something we never imagined possible! What truly sets Sheri apart is how deeply invested she is in the whole family experience. I was able to reach out to her with every little anxious question, and she met each one with reassurance, clarity, and zero judgment. She celebrated even the smallest wins right alongside me, which made a world of difference in building my confidence as a new parent. Sheri also has an incredible network of trusted experts and thoughtfully connected us with an overnight caregiver we absolutely loved. Her recommendations felt intentional and perfectly matched to our needs. We can't recommend her highly enough. If you want a doula who is warm, knowledgeable, and wholeheartedly invested in your family's wellbeing, Sheri is your person.

Her businesses model is quite brilliant as it's hybrid and fit to meet your family's specific needs. I wasn't sure how working virtually would work but using the BabyConnect app makes it seamless allowing us all to keep track of our little one's activities. Sheri also makes herself completely available for calls and FaceTime for check-ins. Our package also included in-person visits with Sheri which have been super helpful with getting hands on support. Sheri is a true expert on all things babies, not only is she super knowledgeable she also is very compassionate and made sure to check in with me during my postpartum transition into motherhood. We loved working with her so much that we extended our contract to get additional support for 2 additional months!

I happened to walk by this place at their old location on Ventura and am happy that later on I walked in. They carry some great and really reasonably priced breastfeeding supplies. I got a fantastic basic nursing bra for under $15, various parts for my pump, and my favorite milk storage bags (which are biodegradable and the same cost of the ones at Target which aren't). The selection of baby things (especially if you're looking for a baby gift) isn't particularly robust, but they truly have what you need to nurse. The new location is in my opinion, leaps and bounds better than the old. The space for classes is bigger, and parking (which you can find in the back) is much easier. It's also close to the VNSO park and trader joes so it's easy to swing by. I also cannot recommend highly enough the mommy-and-me classes I took there with Danielle Brooks. As a second time mom in wasn't sure if I needed a mommy-and-me class, but someone mentioned her class to me and I took a chance to go to it. Danielle truly taught me how to be a better mom, from gently crib training the baby to soothing the toddlers tantrums. It was one of the best decisions I made! All in all, this place is a great resource for moms in the Valley!

She is straight forward, is not a "boob nazi" (her attitude is: if you can breastfeed, great... if you can't, that's okay too and you shouldn't feel guilty about it.), and numerous people I know have gotten from unable to breastfeed to happily breastfeeding with her assistance. You can call Kitty (and this is her home number) at any time for advice. I've had to call her 4 different times for odd ball questions about medication and breastfeeding, duration of postponing, travel concerns, pump part questions, etc. - and FOR FREE Kitty gives helpful advice. I wish that I could give a donation to something in Kitty's name. She has been so helpful to us. She is a true Santa Barbara gem.

Then Comes Baby is so comprehensive and feels really much more intimate and holistic than anything else. Each class feels really long especially going to it on a Monday evening after work, but I honestly think all my fears of childbirth decreased significantly just attending the class. And even more importantly, my husband learned a lot alongside with me which makes me feel even more confident going into birth. I also appreciate that there isn't a hidden agenda to get people to do one thing or the other, how the class went over everything from non-medicated births to epidurals and C-sections. The class was interactive and informative and we always felt comfortable to ask all the questions. We also got a complimentary breastfeeding class that we attended and I'm so glad we took advantage of that too because after my fears of labor subsided, my fears about breastfeeding arose and this class helped alleviate those fears as well!
