She was flexible & able to accommodate changing schedules, great with communication not only about tasks I needed help with but also helping me navigate communication with family members helping out, and provided a complimentary at home massage from a professional for my last visit. We hired Jen as our postpartum doula, and I wish every postpartum person could have a Jen of their own to help! Carrot Fertility, a benefit provided by my employer, reimbursed me for the costs (and Jen was very familiar with the process, so proactively prepared the necessary paperwork for me). Before working with her, we met Jen in person, which no other doula I interviewed had as part of their hiring process. I thought it was a great way to make sure that both parties vibe well, and it went a long way to establishing rapport before birth. As a first time mom, I really had no idea how much help I would want or need after birth. Jen was wonderful in anticipating my (and my husband's) needs (physical and emotional) when we came home from the hospital. Each time Jen visited, she would prepare nourishing foods (so important for postpartum and if you're breastfeeding) and teas and ask how she could help support you that day. She focused on healing you inside and out, as well as bringing some order to the chaos that is life with a newborn. She's intuitive and supportive, and really wants to make sure that you are able to be at peace with the many decisions you have to make as a new mother. We recently had our third baby and this was the first time having a postpartum doula. Because of Jen and her support, this was the best postpartum experience I have had, by far. I wish I could go back in time and hire her for past births! Asking for help doesn't always come naturally to me, but Jen is just amazing- she is so receptive on what could help you. Jen is a literal Angel. This was my first birth and I have extreme anxiety around birthing. She made it such an enjoyable, calming experience. From before birth her support was amazing in making sure we felt ready and with that support when my babes came two weeks early I was ready! I didn't know how I was going to feel having someone else in the room during birth with us but I'm so glad she was. Jen has been our doula for ALL of our children, with our most recent baby girl born 2/27/21. As a husband who wants to be helpful during a pregnancy, Jen did an amazing job in letting me know all of the things I could do that might be beneficial to my wife during labor. My husband and I looked for the perfect Doula to help with the birth of our son, Milo! After our very first meeting with Jen, we knew she was the one! Jen was a lifesaver during this entire process. My goal was to have a natural birth in which she prepared me for. I just had my fourth baby. All of mine came fast and naturally, and my first three deliveries were painful and traumatic. So with this one, I decided to reach out to Jen to help me practice and prepare some natural pain relief strategies. She gave me everything I needed to do and practice. And the gentle prodding I needed to do my homework! With some preparation on my hypnobabies tracks and Jen helping me focus in on what was most important, this last delivery was sooo different than the other three. I was able to get into the zone and stay there literally until it was time to push. I didn't believe them when I was 8 cm dilated because I was pretty comfortable and felt like my labor wasn't progressing. But it was! Jen was the absolute perfect doula for our family. This was my second pregnancy, and I moved to the area around 20 weeks pregnant. I contacted Jen since she lived in my area and I liked the look of her practices from her website. Once we had a formal interview I knew she was the doula for me. With my previous pregnancy, I was induced, and had a few minor complications. I wanted this birth to be as natural and intervention free as possible.
