I'm having a hard time with this one. Yes, it was significantly less expensive than other places -…read morebut there's a reason for that. The kindest way I can put this is this hotel is TIRED. Seriously. It needs to be put out of its misery. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because it was clean (as much as it could be consider the metal in the shower was actually rusted through) and the people. The staff were incredibly friendly. I think the parking lot really gives the place its expectations - massive potholes everywhere. I'm talking about an off-roading experience it was so bad through both the entrances/exits. I didn't even know a property would allow things to get that bad. The rooms were extremely old - you know how you can see the old shadow of a picture frame that used to be on the wall? Picture that over both beds - again, a perfect indication of what to expect. The shower was so rusted we could barely pull up the stop to get the water to come out of the shower head. We specifically chose this hotel because of the kitchenette. THERE WAS NO SILVERWARE! A tired skillet and a spatula. Silverware is one of the most basic things that should be in the room. We didn't even both trying to cook something there we were so disgusted. I could talk on and on about how the bottom of the doors were peeled off and paint free, etc. But I think you should just know what you're getting - and the only thing you're going to get is a deal for sleeping there. I know I wouldn't return to stay here again - even with the price.

The hotel is very convenient to town and Ithaca college and the staff were friendly. The bathroom…read morewas clean as well as the bedding. Those were the pros. However, the room we had looked like it had barely been vacuumed. Whoever vacuumed just did a quick run through. There were remnants of candy, food, especially in the kitchen area. The toaster still had crumbs all over it, the interior of the fridge had food spills and gunk caked on the shelving. There was also no silverware which is odd for having a mini stove/kitchenette. The hotel needs some updating. The pool is shut down for "foreseeable future" per a sign. There are places in the bathroom where the bathtub/shower walls are starting to peel away from the wall. I would not stay at this hotel again.

We searched for a while online looking for the perfect place to stay just north of Ithaca - we…read morefound it. The rooms are clean and cozy. Well thought out room designs. There are two buildings - the main one with the breakfast area (and hot tub) and the other building where we stayed. We enjoyed it - and it was quiet. The breakfasts were made with great care. There was a touch of creativity in each dish (day 1 we had mint chia seed pudding which was also her first time making it I believe). Made with fresh ingredients. If not from the garden (truly farm to table) then locally sourced. They checked with us prior for any food allergies and our drink preference in the AMs and then didnt forget it. Great location as well to get to wineries, hiking trails, Cornell, Downtown Ithaca, etc. Highly recommend.

Ishhe assigned me a breakfast time slot I did not want though every other gust seemmed to some to breakfast wneevr they wanted and I was consistently served last. I was not provided a GF afternoon snack as promised and she rudely dismissed my reminder saying we don't have any and finally I asked for a full sized blanket (there wasn't one in the room and it was chilly at night) and she said cant you use the throw (a 1/2 size decorative throw). The room itself was in the front and the traffic could be heard almost all night; the cleaning staff did not clear my room of dirty cups and trash and a missing drawer in the bathroom vnity was not replaced. finally alhough she helped every oher guest she did not assist me with dining or destinations recommendations. they are trrying to run an inn part time and I was not treated well. Did not have a pleasant stay and would never stay here again. not worth anywhere near the price

Otherwise, this property and the stay were above and beyond. It was a graduation stay. My experience began with a front desk associate who went above and beyond to pre-assign a room that checked all the boxes we needed as I was traveling with my elder mom. When I had questions re cancellation policy that she was unsure of - she got in touch with the manager and called me right back with the answers. When we arrived there was a keepsake gift bag full of bottled water, cookies, pretzels and a card welcoming us. I've worked in hospitality -- where this amenity is typically reserved for members at very high levels and, even then, what we gave them was not as nice as this. The room was clean, spacious, no strange odors, or stained carpet. It looked out onto a peaceful grassy yard surrounded by trees. It is an unusually small building and charming in its appearance -- yes older - charming in a way they don't bother with anymore. It appears to have once been a small hotel/motel that indeed was charming! On Saturday evening ... graduation day ... we returned to find a small stuffed graduate teddy bear placed on one of the pillows - a gift for our grad. Add that to the room being fully turned over every day of our stay without a request required. Not enough can be said about how friendly and helpful the staff is. The lobby is small but furnished with comfortable couch/chairs and is an inviting space, as is the breakfast area - with touches such as vintage wood shelving and curio - and the seating surrounding a gas fireplace. Coffee and fruit are fresh and available 24 hours. And it's a great touch that it shares a lot with Perkins -- a family restaurant with whatever you might need. It's in an area with easy access to many fast food options, as well as a Dennys. Dunkin with a drive through, as well as gas stations. Also just about a mile or so from Cortland's recently renovated main street area with a great selection of shops and restaurants. We opted to return to Cortland for lunch on a wash-out rainy grad Saturday to avoid the crowds in Ithaca. No reservations we found a great spot and enjoyed a great meal. I would note the poor reviews are 2-3 years old or older -- Perhaps ownership or management has changed? Because I would not only stay again - I would go out of my way to stay at this property.
