Continuing our Route 66 trip and experiencing several of the Hilton brands. The nice thing about…read moreSpark is the updated decor and vibe. The rooms are bright. And the lobby lounge area is inviting. Compared the Hilton Garden Inn, the room was roomier and more comfortable. The digital key worked great. And allowed us to bypass the check in line and get to our rooms and rest. The TV was a good sized 40 inch that could be easily viewed - unlike the Hilton Garden Inn in Springfield. The only con was the dank smell when we first entered the room. That was mostly resolved with the dry feature of the HVAC unit. Then there is the HVAC unit. It was quieter than most. But do not beat the mini-spilts that tend to be in the retro fitted old motels and hotels. Parking is free. Note that Spark does provide all day coffee tea and a continental breakfast.

I spoke to the front desk about it, and she said that the hotel needs a remodel. That doesn't help me at all, so she would have to talk to the manager about how disappointed I am. I thought that I booked the nicest room, which is the two bedroom suite with a king bed, two queens in another room and a sofa bed. Upon arrival, I was happy with how nice it looked, that they had dishes and pots and dish soap. But the carpet is gross, the couches were really dirty, and even the lamp has stains. I didn't want my family to take off their shoes and we even used our own blankets. My son needed another blanket at night and when he went down and got one at around 11pm, the blanket has a huge hole in it. On top of everything else, the blanket wasn't even right. The next thing was the fire alarms going off every little bit around 6am. Apparently someone left the stove on and there was smoke on the third floor. I could forgive this if it was the only thing, but on top of everything-- this was a very upsetting time. The ONLY reason they got any stars at all is because I didn't see any bugs. Adding that even the bagel at breakfast was moldy.

Booked our stay because we are military traveling for a PCS and it's a pet friendly hotel (with deposit per pet). However, everything is dirty. Just walking around the hotel, there is stuff all over the carpets (lint, pieces of paper, crumbs, I don't even know), smears on the linoleum (probably from pets or small spills, but you would think a day later they would be cleaned up), and don't get me started on the pool. We took our kids for a swim and someone's yogurt parfait was sitting on the chair and it was oldddd. The hot tub isn't working and the water is stagnant and nasty. Dead bugs in it and looked super cloudy. One guy actually said he asked someone about it and they apparently said they would come "turn it on," but never showed up. Probably for the best. The bathrooms next to the pool are trashed. Toilet paper everywhere. Someone took a huge poop in the women's room and it either didn't go down, or they didn't bother to flush. The outside gazebo looks beautiful though. They have a very nice set up where you can grill and hang out. Maybe the lady at the front desk was having a rough day, but I went to ask for pool towels because, surprise, they weren't stocked, but her demeanor honestly made me feel like a burden for even asking. I didn't even bother mentioning the hot tub like I was going to. The fitness center is... lacking. The treadmill won't even turn on and I had to mess with the elliptical settings to find one that didn't say error. Not sure about the bike, I didn't try it after I got the elliptical to work. They have exactly 11 dumbbells, no water in the jug or wipes in the dispenser, and it's apparent that someone didn't clean up after themselves because there were paper towels and a wadded up regular towel just sitting around. They do offer guest laundry, but it's not free and you can't use your own detergent, it's preloaded. Each load costs $2.50 per washer and dryer. Our room is a decent size. We have a kitchen with a ton of empty cabinets, a handful of dishes, and almost a full sized fridge. I'm happy about those things! But the pull out couch was pretty awful and my poor husband ended up sleeping there with our daughter. There was food in the couch when we opened it up. Our sink had men's leftover beard trimmings and our shower had someone else's hair still. Our room has splatters all over the wall from God knows what abd the carpet is stained. I feel bad letting my toddler walk on it. Don't get me wrong, I've stayed in some sketchy places before, but for $300 for one night? No thank you, it's just not worth the price.

Amazing Last-Minute Stay!…read more I stopped by Hilton Home2 Suites on a last-minute day trip because I didn't want to drive all the way back to Albuquerque, and I'm so glad I did! The staff was super accommodating and got me into a room right away. The suite was way nicer than I expected -- two queen beds, a pullout couch, and a full kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, sink, dishes, and silverware. The room was spotless and felt huge! The bathroom was immaculate and beautifully designed. The location was quiet, I didn't have any issues with noise or other guests, and the amenities were great. The pool was a good size, and the jacuzzi was massive -- easily big enough for 30 people -- and perfectly clean (they had just finished cleaning it when I got there). Breakfast the next morning was excellent with lots of options. Overall, this was one of the easiest and most pleasant walk-in hotel experiences I've ever had. I'll definitely stay here again the next time I'm in town!

Our room was under $100 for the night and here are my observations: -Breakfast: It came with a complimentary continental breakfast from 6-9am that had a great variety including multiple protein options and name brand items. The staff were really good at keeping all the items fresh and available. We came between 8:00 and 8: 30am and there was plenty of food and it remained that way until we left at 9am. Spacious comfortable dining room seating and large TVs available. Oh, and TEXAS SHAPED WAFFLES. I'm a nerd and get very excited about Texas-shaped waffles, and they have them here. -Room: The rooms are very nice, beds were very comfortable with lots of pillows available. There was complimentary shampoo and conditioner installed in the shower and plenty of towels available. They also had individually packaged makeup remover wipes and soaps/lotion (scented with essential oils). Lots of plugs and USB ports in convenient places. A refrigerator and microwave were available in the room. -Amenities: There was a fitness center with free weights and a handful of machines. There is a pool and hotel tub but there were being maintenanced when we were there. The rooms came with a microwave, coffee pot and accessories, and a sizeable fridge. -Customer Service: HIGHLY recommend. I am big on customer service and will at times choose a place of lesser quality with better customer service over another place with crummy customer service. That wasn't necessarily the case here because I found this place to be high quality but also there were other hotels that were more expensive in the area that we could have gone with but we chose this one not so much for the price but for the amazing customer service. I saw some reviews on here saying that they had recently had a water leak that created a musty odor in the building. When I called and asked about that along with availability and room, they were very honest about it and even said "You're welcome to come in and walk around and see if you have any issues with an odor before you decide [If you want to reserve a room]". There was a slight musty odor in the lobby that sounded like what had been described online. Things happen and nothing's perfect and you can't always prevent issues like water leak, but they were addressing it and the employee said to his knowledge it doesn't go beyond the lobby where the leak was and that the rooms are unaffected. I did ask "What if our room has an odor?" and he was very up front about saying "If you get in there and there's any issues, you let me know and I'll get you another room. And if there's an issue with that room I'll get you another room and so on until you're satisfied" (a rough but very close quote). And this was when we arrived close to 8pm that night. This employee was Gonzalo and he was AMAZING. Made a great first impression and really confused it for us as far as deciding on the girl versus any other ones. After a comfy night's sleep and a very filling yummy breakfast, I was very glad I chose to stay here and would gladly stay here again in future. Thank you, Gonzalo, and all the staff at the Sleep Inn and Suites!!

My wife and I stayed in Room 316, while my mother stayed in Room 321. My wife and I woke up with numerous bites all over our bodies, while my mother had none. We spent the entire weekend together except when sleeping in our rooms. After investigating, we found a live insect that appeared to possibly be a bed bug. We also discovered hair, food debris, and what appeared to be insect eggs behind the beds. We have pictures documenting everything, including our bites. We reported the issue to the front desk, who contacted General Manager Michael Briggs. Instead of offering to move us, he wanted us to email pictures. We were even told that moving guests wasn't common practice! Even more concerning, staff claimed they had inspected our room for bugs earlier that day, BEFORE we ever complained, despite our Do Not Disturb sign being displayed. Why were they checking for bugs before we reported anything? We also contacted Choice Hotels customer service, where the representative initially made it sound like previous complaints existed, then quickly denied it. **The lack of cleanliness, concern, and professionalism from General Manager Michael Briggs is completely unacceptable.** This hotel looks decent from the outside, but our experience was disgusting. **STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! We have photographic evidence to back up our complaints.** They have a note taped by their front desk saying they will not switch rooms
