Stayed here numerous times when traveling with pets in the past so decided to stay while transporting one of our foster dogs to her new home in Texas. This hotel is conveniently located, well maintained, clean. Parking is plentiful, safe and well lite. We stayed on the first floor in the low 100s and had no issues with bugs. I even flipped the light on in the middle of the night a couple times to check since people had mentions this before but seen nothing (possible they recently sprayed the room). Our room had microwave and mini refrigerator, and the lobby had coffee available in the morning. Overall, we had a very good stay. read more

The only reason I even applied a star is that I appreciated the clerk! the manager Mac or Marc promised a refund being I battled roaches all nigh, I get the reason for leaving the light on now! Not to mention the drug dealer and deals that occurred throughout the night! I also fought the water in shower while the housekeepers rinsed the sinks, ran water most certainly not cleaning the water went ice cold! I was on the road for over 10 hours playing beat the clock to make it back home to my dying mother all I wanted was a rest and warm shower before I hit the road for the rest of what now is the funeral for mom!! I was told I would receive a refund almost two weeks ago by the Manager, I have yet to see said refund! what a disgrace and this man should be ashamed of himself and to think at one time a man's word was his honor I guess that just doesn't exist anymore! Horrible horrible used to be ok somewhat now it's a literal roach motel. Couldn't sleep one bit because I kept seeing roaches crawling on the walls or by the desk , It was so disgusting and thats not even the only only issue!! The heater didn't work and it's late fall so I had to keep turning on the shower on hot so the room would steam up, theres rust in the bathtubs and other weird stains. Toilet seat was moving back and forth when you sat down on it . It's not just this location that's rundown the Lubbock location by the freeway I would advise you to sleep outside on dirt and you would still be better off than sleeping in the rooms there. In Flagstaff everything delapidated ,cigarette stench, dirty outside and inside isn't much better , the denver locations same issues but add shady looking ppl who look like they're up to no good,noisy. No more motel 6 for me I work to hard to be paying to be uncomfortable or cold or worried and not getting the rest I need for the next day . I feel like under exaggerating how bad it is. Stayed in this hotel when our reservations for a hotel down the road near the steakhouse couldn't get us in to our room in spite of reservations for 8 months. Pulled into this hotel and were greeted and in a room within 5 minutes. Room was clean, bedding was clean, and we had no issues with the place. Wife used the laundry and did 2 loads of laundry in the on-site facility. Machines worked well. Mexican restaurant across the street was convenient and good. We are traveling along route 66 with two dogs hence the reason we are staying in Motel 6's since they accept pets. Otherwise, trust me, I would not be staying at them simply because you never know what you're going to get. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this location. The last two Motel 6's were horrible. I was hesitant about many of the less expensive motels in the Amarillo area due to poor reviews even though I frequently have stayed at Motel 6's in many areas of the country. I couldn't figure out which one was the one I had stayed at several years ago and it turned out that it had closed and moved its location to this one but I didn't know that yet. My daughters chose this one because it was one of the closer ones to the airport and it turned out to be a great choice. They put us in a handicap room because I asked for a ground-floor room. It had two double beds with a small refrigerator and microwave.I was with my two grown daughters and 6 year old grandson. We doubled up in the beds and were perfectly comfortable. The room was clean, the bathroom was huge being a handicapped room. The only downside might be that handicap rooms rarely have very much counter space. They gave us plenty of linens which was nice since there were 3 and half of us. The mattresses were comfortable, the linens were clean, the TV, microwave and refrigerator all worked great, the room was surprisingly quiet except for the freeway noise since we were close to I-40. We felt very safe and secure. We had to wake up early (4:30 a.m.!) to make it to the airport for their 6 a.m. flight. I came back to the room after I dropped them off and was able to get a couple more hours sleep before I checked out to go do some shopping and sightseeing. I researched some other motels in the area and then ended up coming back here that night and stayed several more nights because it was easier to stay someplace where I knew what it was like then to find a new place. All the front desk girls were very pleasant and friendly. There is coffee in the morning until 10 a.m. and some vending machines if you need snacks. The ice machine was in good working order. Based on my experience I can highly recommend this place if you are looking for an inexpensive motel. I think it was $50 with the senior discount for the four of us to stay the first night and has been running $44 a night for me to stay by myself. I'd rather play pay a lower price so I can spend my money on other things when I visit Amarillo. I don't need expensive thick towels or supposedly free shampoo and conditioner, which actually aren't free since they are integrated into the per night price, than to pay $80 to $120/ night just for a place to sleep. read more

It was a hotel room. That's really all you can say about it. There were the correct number of beds. There a TV, a toilet, a tub, a fridge (that you couldn't open without moving a bench out of the way), and the aforementioned bench. We chose it for a quick night's sleep. We weren't looking for highend, just cheap and quick. That sums this place up perfectly, cheap and quick. Was it the cleanest? No. Was it the nicest? No. Would I stay again? Probably not. The biggest drawback was the "extras". You know, the pool, the included breakfast, and such. None of these were available due to the pandemic but we were still charged full price. We have stayed here in past years and it was ok...this time was awful. I am giving two stars because it was relatively clean. The room was ok. The office refuses to answer the phone. This was the case while we were driving in, as well as at 2:00 in the morning when we needed help with a person's blaring music. Another guest was playing concert-level music out of a speaker in his backpack around 2:00 AM. It was absolutely ridiculously loud, and our toddlers were trying to sleep. I talked to the guy myself, and he mostly turned it down. It was still loud, and I didn't feel like it was reasonable for a small woman to keep talking to a high man outside in the middle of the night, after he obviously didn't listen the first time. The office would not answer when I called, so I called the police. I hate to call police for that kind of thing. We will not stay here again. read more

Looking at one of reviews that stated they paid $247 for a room!?! Uhh no, I think the review was probably meant for different motel or they were ripped off. Lol, The price here is reasonable and accordingly what Motel 6 should be. If you want all the frills and extras, keep driving. You KNEW what Motel 6 are! I've stayed here few times as stopping point from point A to point B. They allow dogs, the room is always clean. The employees are friendly and accommodating. I once lost my reading glasses and needed to know where I might have dropped it, they were more than happy to review their security camera. This hotel was actually very nice and super clean. Surprisingly pleasant compared to where it is. If you need a clean place to sleep on your way through, this is a great option. It is pet friendly and I love that the floors are hard wood vinyl because they are so much cleaner than carpet; especially with all of the pets going through there. I've stayed here many times but this past trip was a disaster. Reservations got all messed up and the front desk girl didn't know how to fix them. They charged different prices than when we originally booked. The area seems a bit dodgy. The final straw was when we were told that the water was going to be turned off in the morning. I read the reviews and was more comfortable with staying here for a couple of hours to shower and rest, we are literally crossing the US driving so I just wanted a comfy and clean place to rest for a bit. I'll give them this, they are cheap, for $52 dollars we got a room with one bed which was enough for my husband and I. As soon as I walked in I knew is was a very simplistic place but at first it looked clean so it was ok. Five minutes inside was enough time to find pee marks on the toilet seat and hair all over the floor and also some in the bathtub. I was very annoyed by it so decided to wash my face and figure it out what to do, to my surprise -ok, not so much - I found hair on the towel as well... Well, we left and asked for our money back. We will find some place else, even if it means to pay more, after all they say you get what you paid for..lol I included picture of the bathtub and towel, totally skipped the toilet seat for it was grossing me out. read more

Traveling cross country with pets is a nightmare, especially when you are traveling by yourself. This Motel 6 was the nicest one I've ever experience. There was no extra charge for my furry friend to stay. The front office lady was super sweet, I told her I had my beloved Beans with me, and she placed me on the first floor, with ample parking in front of me. What a god send and what good customer service. The room was chic. It had a modern twist. Platform beds, mounted flat screen, lament wood floors, marble counter tops. The room was clean, had no smell or odors, and the bed was really comfortable. Way to go Motel 6, mama is impressed. For a Motel 6, this wasn't bad at all. If I could do half stars, I'd deduct one cuz the toilet wasn't perfectly clean (it wasn't heinous, but I noticed the icky part immediately), and there were some dirty/muddy spots on the floor. Other than those two things, it was indeed very clean, which, let's face it, is about the best one can hope for at a Motel 6. And the immediate area around it leaves much to be desired. But the AC was super cold and the shower was piping hot, it was quiet and I did appreciate the bright colors; much nicer than the typical styling of "stark hospital white" usually found at this chain. It was $57 for a single, king bedroom (mattress was a little firm for my preference, but adaquate) on a Saturday night. Yup, that's how I like to party it up on a Saturday night. I was so pleasantly surprised by this motel! We were driving through on our way to Colorado and needed a place to crash for the night and didn't really have high expectations. But wow! The staff was so so friendly, and the rooms were exceptionally clean. The beds were comfortable as well! There are some super scary motel 6's out there but this is not one of them. Love Motel 6 because of their constistency. You always know what to expect. Only issue with our room was we reserved a certain type of room and when we got there they said we were given a handicap room which didnt bother me then we walked in the room and the bathroom was very strange to me since it was for handicap people. It was like a large locker room shower and the floor was filthy. No shampoos or liquid soap anywhere just a few towels. The room overall was not the best room in the world but fine for somewhere to sleep and only $40 a night. Staff was extremely friendly and professional! read more

This was honestly probably the best motel 6 I've ever stayed in. We could tell right away that the place was newly renovated. The lobby was still under construction upon checking in. Our room was brand new, so I was impressed. It was clean and didn't smell whatsoever. We had a king sized bed for the two of us plus our dog. My only disappointment, like other motel 6's, is there is only three pillows for a king bed, and the room only provides two towels for showers and such. Just a small inconvenience that isn't severe enough to call someone to request more of something... just noticeable. There were also some dogs roaming around when we first dog to our room, laying in the grass, and then following us around. Not sure if they were strays or belonged to someone - I didn't want to get near them in fear that they might not be friendly. Then, didn't see them again after the first encounter. Update: Front desk apologized. Told me the other people's key shouldn't have opened my room and they would look into it. No discount, refund, or future credit offered. Before I checked out I took a picture of the chain type look which was only held in by one loose screw. We were on a long trip. I just wanted to get a few hours sleep so we decided to stay here. I've stayed at Motel 6s many times in the past with no problem. This one is like all the others. Room was fine. Was clean, bed was comfortable. Was reasonably priced. Deadbolt wouldn't turn all the way but looked latched. I could open the door from the inside with it latched but I've seen that in other hotels so I wasn't too concerned. I also shut the "chain" lock thank goodness. Because at 1:00 in the morning someone opened my door with their room key card. I called the desk and she said she had sent them to the room next to me. It's an understandable mistake on the other family's part, and they were of course concerned why someone else was in their room. But their key should not have opened my door. I thought key cards were programmed to individual rooms. I will talk to the staff again in the morning and will update my review depending on what they say. If key cards fit ALL doors then I certainly will not stay at any Motel 6s in the future. read more

We began in San Antonio to San Marcos to Austin to Cedar Park to Witchita Falls and now in Amarillo as I am typing this Yelp review. Out of the 6 cities we visited, we stood in 4 Motel 6 and by far and above, this Motel 6 is the best we EVER been in. Our room was amazingly clean, nicely modern, was an actual non-smoking room, check in attendant was fast and friendly. First, let me say, I have come to loathe "budget" motels. I usually stay at higher tier hotels and am a Wyndham member, so I'm a snob. My son and I were on an emergency trip and were exhausted and on a budget, other places looked sketchy, so we decided, ok... motel 6. To say I was surprised it was an understatement. The front desk person was fantastic, saw I was exhausted and got checked quickly and was friendly. (Sorry forgot your name, but works evening shift) We went to the room, cringed and opened the door.... WOW! The room smelled clean pleasant and fresh! The bed linen was newer, clean and fresh. Bed was also comfortable! The rest of the room was clean and immaculate! (The last motel 6 I stayed in was such a dump the family swore a oath NEVER to that again) The room was what we needed, and comfy clean bed, clean restroom, air conditioner that worked, and was quiet. The next morning, we were loading the car, the housekeeping supervisor was walking the rooms, saw me, gave me smile, said good morning and have good day. That is the difference between good and great! If you a room, and on a budget, I believe this is a good place to lay your head for the night!!! read more

I'm happy to say we were pleasantly surprised with the rooms at this location. Everything was clean, smelled fresh, no dust or grim. The water was hot and exactly what we needed at this impromptu stop. The motel is located is located near several places to eat (we had something delivered). If I had to be picky, I would say the towels are thin / rough, the blanket was thin, and to use your own soap (like we did). We needed a quick, cheap and pet-friendly motel to stay in for a short night's stay. The staff were very friendly, and accommodated us nicely with a first floor room with parking right outside our door. As far as the room was concerned, it was perfect for a puppy, with laminate floor (instead of carpet, in case of an "accident"), and appeared clean from just looking at it. Unfortunately, after taking off my shoes, and walking around the room a bit, the reality sunk in that it the floor was horribly dirty. Everything else was satisfactory. read more

The Internet here is too slow to be useable. We are talking 2 or 3 minutes to bring up Google! They had a hard time making me a key that worked on the door to my room, the third time was charmed. The people that checked in before me immediately came back to the front desk showing them a picture of the soiled sheets that they found when they turned down the covers. My sheets were really wet. The front desk clerk brought me clean, dry sheets quickly, and she was very nice and apologized profusely. We had driven 9 hours and were very tired. The only shampoo available was in the vending machine. While I realize that Motel 6 is not the Plaza Hotel, I don't think that expecting shampoo and conditioner is too much to expect. The room was $247.00 with tax, which I was very happy with. But no shampoo and conditioner? For that reason, I will not recommend Motel 6 to anyone in the future. It pains me to write this. I have always been a fan of the chain. I was exhausted and I was forced to dig through my packed bags to search for shampoo and conditioner. I would have preferred to spend more money to save the stress. I will post this review on Yelp, Google, and Facebook. Walls are paper thin & neighbors super loud & yelling all night. The smoke from the neighbors (also in a non-smoking room) was overpowering. Honestly, for a Motel 6 this was very impressive! It was cheap, clean and very nice inside. I got a king size bed without even asking for the same low price. I felt safe, clean and honestly wished this was my hotel room every time. Obviously, the room was renovated and everything was new or semi new. The shower had a clean tub and not just a shower area. I was traveling cross country so I made to Amarillo hoping for a clean and safe place to crash man what a gem! I will stay here any night in a heartbeat! Driving cross-country with 4 animals in tow, we've been staying exclusively in Motel 6's because they're pet friendly, and not in the fake way where they "allow pets" but then charge you $25-50 PER animal. This is the nicest Motel 6 we've stayed in so far. It has laminate wood floors, which I imagine is way cleaner than carpet, and really modern decor. It's quiet, cheap, has a refreshing lack of sketchy patrons, and is conveniently located right next to I-40. My only complaints are that the internet is pretty slow & I can hear my neighbors through the walls. :-/ read more

We were tired and all we wanted was a decent night's sleep. Getting to sleep was going to be the problem. We arrived at around 11 PM and after looking for budget friendly hotels, we decided to stay here. I walked in and there were thankfully some rooms available. I asked for a nonsmoking, and we got on our way to our room. When I got to my room, the key did not work! I had to walk all the way back to the office with my luggage and my pet in tow, down the flight of stairs and into the office again. This is a huge inconvenience at midnight in a sketchy part of town. I saw sketchy looking people outside their rooms and women walking by (doing who knows what) until the police arrived, I sure did feel safe in this area (sarcasm). So after I walked to the office and the lady finally activated my key, I walked happily to my room looking forward to getting some much needed zzzzz. The very first thing I noticed when entering my room was a STRONG odor of smoke. Mind you, I asked for a nonsmoking room and there were some reminders to not smoke in the room and the room still had a strong smoke odor. I don't know whether housekeeping can't get rid of the smell or what the problem is but the smell was unbearable. I literally had to spray some perfume and cover my nose with a cloth just so that I could properly breathe! Once morning came, i was glad to leave. I would never stay here again! Motel 6 is usually a hit or miss and most Motel 6 I have stayed in throughout the country have been acceptable, even nice, but this was definitely the worse. read more

A very basic, clean room. Smelled of a pretty strong air freshener when we got in, but it dissipated pretty quickly. Nice bright colors, brand new covers, paint job, fixtures, TV, etc. Clearly recently redone. Large bed and warm sheets. Good privacy and I felt safe. Very friendly staff. The night before, I'd had a horrific experience with the Rodeway Inn in Memphis, TN, so this was an extremely welcome change. The Women's Freedom ride chose this hotel to rest after a long days riding ,only to rise and no shine to a motorcycle being stolen along with a trailer. Nice place huh. This group of women, are riding from Charleston SC to San Diego raising money for wounded veterans. You would think the management would have had security in place.. We were driving from CO back to Austin. Made a reservation on line. Strange how they will only allow you to make one room reservation at a time. Glad we did as when we arrived they were sold out. We had our dog so main reason we booked here. Place is basic but really clean. Bed was comfortable. I like the fact there is no carpet. Feels cleaner to me. Overall I would stay again. The outside needs some paint. Starting to rust in areas. Also need to fix the ice makers. However nice that they had a huge cooler of ice for guest. Great rate if $55 for two adults & dog for King bed. All doors face outside. If a real light sleeper may need ear plugs, as people are coming and going all night here. This place has no security, and was dirty and gross. My uhaul that was on the back of my truck was stolen from their parking lot and they won't take responsibility for what happened on their property. They gave me a long run around and we're very rude to me. My while life was in that uhaul. Everything for my business, things from my mother before she died, my husband's grandfather's flag from his funeral EVERYTHING! I will never give this company my money again. Generally the room is clean, bathroom is nice, staff friendly, and make me feel safe (not like some really cheap motels that's all old and smelly and disgusting...). The only complaints are the questionable looking towels and wifi... Towels are thin and I don't like the cream color (we all know they're supposed to be white)... You need to pay $2.99 more to have wifi, it's not big deal but the speed is worse than those free hotspots and you can only log on one equipment at a time.
