We were driving from CO back to Austin. Made a reservation on line. Strange how they will only allow you to make one room reservation at a time. Glad we did as when we arrived they were sold out. We had our dog so main reason we booked here. Place is basic but really clean. Bed was comfortable. I like the fact there is no carpet. Feels cleaner to me. Overall I would stay again. The outside needs some paint. Starting to rust in areas. Also need to fix the ice makers. However nice that they had a huge cooler of ice for guest. Great rate if $55 for two adults & dog for King bed. All doors face outside. If a real light sleeper may need ear plugs, as people are coming and going all night here. We were coming in while a trucker was leaving. read more

A very basic, clean room. Smelled of a pretty strong air freshener when we got in, but it dissipated pretty quickly. Nice bright colors, brand new covers, paint job, fixtures, TV, etc. Clearly recently redone. Large bed and warm sheets. Good privacy and I felt safe. Very friendly staff. The night before, I'd had a horrific experience with the Rodeway Inn in Memphis, TN, so this was an extremely welcome change. Only complaint was that the shower curtain was cloth, so the floor got wet. I'd definitely seek out Motel 6 for a budget stay in the future. Very nice renovations! (stayed on 10/13/17) read more

Not bad for the price, my stay here was pleasant. Generally the room is clean, bathroom is nice, staff friendly, and make me feel safe (not like some really cheap motels that's all old and smelly and disgusting...). The only complaints are the questionable looking towels and wifi... Towels are thin and I don't like the cream color (we all know they're supposed to be white)... You need to pay $2.99 more to have wifi, it's not big deal but the speed is worse than those free hotspots and you can only log on one equipment at a time. For people who are checking their phone and laptop at the same time like me, this could be a problem... read more

Absolutely one of the best Motel 6's we've ever stayed at, the other being in Santa Barbara, CA. And we've stayed in many over the years, across the US. Clean. Comfortable. Up to date rooms - well, at least ours was. Quiet. Friendly staff. Everything you want for a quick overnight when you're traveling. Our dog even seems happy here. Thanks for the pleasant stay, Amarillo Motel 6! read more

Summer weight blankets in January. :/ That, and the front door didn't seal well, so the highway noise was really loud. Outside of that, though, it's nice. Recent remodel, clean, friendly staff. read more

Motel 6 - Desk/Vanity - Hotels Near Me - Amarillo, Texas

The lady Mrs. Sonya at the desk was very friendly. My room was updated like the pictures already posted... Great place to stop for the night. No microwave available. read more

This place has no security, and was dirty and gross. My uhaul that was on the back of my truck was stolen from their parking lot and they won't take responsibility for what happened on their property. They gave me a long run around and we're very rude to me. My while life was in that uhaul. Everything for my business, things from my mother before she died, my husband's grandfather's flag from his funeral EVERYTHING! I will never give this company my money again. They do not care about their clientele. I used to love Motel 6 that was my first job as a kid. Now I'm just sad and disappointed. read more

I think this place gets away with more because the chain has been around forever and people trust it. We have stayed at a few motels on this trip and this one was the most expensive and included the least options. There was no hot breakfast, you had to pay for wifi, no included shampoos or anything. This motel was decorated nicely and the wood floors made me feel like it was cleaner. This was the best looking motel close to the steak ranch in Amarillo. At this point we were tired and just wanted a place to stop so went with the name we knew, Motel 6. If I am in Amarillo again I might do some more research, I felt the cost far outweighed what we got. Front desk was very friendly however, and there were no questionable people loitering or anything. read more

I would rather pull into a sketchy rest stop and sleep in the open bed of my truck than stay here!

Love the new remodel! Very clean and modern! In-room fridge and microwave! Only disappointment was the pillows. Big, loose chunks of foam. Very hot and lumpy. Couldn't sleep. read more

Nothing wrong with the rooms general appearance or cleanliness. 32 inch flat screen hdmi hookups. Somewhat updated, albeit a cheap and corners cut renovation. Two stars because A. They charge for wifi. Don't even try the $2.99 wifi. So, $4.99 for wifi, average room does NOT come with micro or fridge. You can get one of those for an ADDITIONAL $3.00. (Is this a marriott?) Cups provided for free coffee in the morning are MAYBE 4oz. They're literally the smallest Styrofoam cups I've ever seen. This penny pinching, nickel and diming attitude really left a horrible taste in my mouth about the place. But, the room isn't bad for the price. Just don't expect anything to come with it, at least not for free. EDIT: THEY TRIED TO PASS OFF MY USED TOWEL AS THE NEW "FLOOR TOWEL" absolutely pathetic. DO NOT STAY HERE. read more

The room was clean and everything was functional and relatively new. Internet worked fine and we had a good night's sleep. Recommended.

BLUF: you get what you pay for. The walls are paper thin and we stayed up most the night listening to a dog whine and people talking. The bathroom is very small with super small towels. I probably wouldn't stay again even for just one night. read more

2nd stay here in 2 weeks .... drove out of my way to stay again ... love this place and staff .... Olga you did it again .... room is so clean and smells amazing! read more

Long drive for us and both of us catching a cold so we pulled into Motel 6. Staff was awesome, got us settled in (with our small dog) and we ended up staying 3 nights instead of 1 trying to recover. They told us where drug store was and some where to get soup! Rooms had microwave and small fridge making being sick in a hotel room easier! Clean, serviciable and economy. Coffee, close laundry room, and ice made it all the better. Only draw back was pillows - they needed more when you are sick and trying to prop up in bed! So I bought two to take with me on our yr travels! read more

THIS PLACE HAS BED BUGS. Stayed here last night, and I woke up at 2 in the morning scratching at a bite on my arm. Today the bite turned into a red welt with a rash. I tried to convince myself it wasn't bed bugs, but when I looked at other reviews, several other people said they saw bed bugs here. Some saw them crawling on the sheets, and some saw blood stains on the pillow cases. Do not stay here! read more

I lost my engagement ring while staying at the hotel. I thought it had fallen somewhere between the room and the parking lot. We looked and looked for it but couldn't find it. I informed Jennifer at the front desk and she said she would call me if anyone turned it in. I had to get back on the road as I was traveling from San Diego to Chicago. Jennifer called me a few hours later to let me know the ring had been found in the parking lot and turned in by a nice gentleman. HUGE THANK YOU TO THE MAN FOR FINDING AND TURNING IN MY RING. And also a huge thanks to Jennifer and her manager for sending the ring back to me. Also, our room was comfortable and clean and we had a great night sleep before getting back on the road. This was a great value. read more

This place is fine. After reading reviews I was nervous about bedbugs, but I thoroughly checked and our room (219) had none. 4 stars in Motel 6 standards. * The main office had a bunch of cameras which was a little unnerving, but the girl was super nice and gave us free Wi-Fi. She even told us that there was a party going on down the street that may be loud and gave us an upstairs room to avoid drunken stomping of partygoers. * People, the room was surprisingly nice. I was expecting crap, but was happily wrong. No carpet, just "wooden" laminate and he room didn't smell at all. The walls were clean, the beds were clean, and the TV was nice. The beds were a bit too soft for my taste, but the sheets were clean. The lights were a bit delicate and it felt too weird leaving the blinds open, but it wasn't a big deal. The bathroom was seriously small, but the shower was warm, so whatever man. * Sad that there was no breakfast, but there is a place for laundry and free coffee. There was an IHOP and Denny's nearby. read more

If you stay here, pls make sure to ask for a non-connecting room please. We were "connected" to this prostitute's room that had two male guests at 3 am in the morning and doing crack or meth. When I told them to be quiet by saying "shhhh" they threatened me and asked among themselves "should we raid that room". Stay the hell away! read more

This place is stepping it's game up and I'd definitely recommend this motel over the other property on I40 and Paramount Blvd. They are in the middle of a remodel of this place and I must say the new look of the rooms is amazing! Very nice and comfortable and fresh! Quite! Comfortable beds! read more

I've been Traveling a bit From Oregon to Florida then Florida Washington... So my dog and I are pretty tired! So I have to say this is the first time I can Relax in comfort at this Particular Motel 6. The only negative was the floor could used a little more cleaning. But the The bed was relaxing, Everything was clean, The bathroom was clean and that's huge for me. And it is in a safe area town, the front desk attendant, her name was Jessica. She was very friendly and very nice during the whole checkin process. Highly Recommended! read more

Stayed here the other night because we needed something quick and cheap that allowed pets. It's obviously a Motel 6 so much isn't to be expected. The room was clean and had some updates done and they didn't charge us for my dog which was awesome. The parking was a bit tight and the place seemed slightly sketchy, but again I feel it should almost be expected. Oh and the lady at the front desk was extremely friendly which is a plus because I swear a lot of people seem grouchy that work hotel front desks late at night. read more

4301 #I-40 East, Amarillo, TX Stayed: 12/11/17 for one night. Staff friendly; rooms clean; close to the #I-40; decor had fresh bright colors; one small draw back not much grass area for anyone traveling with a pet. Stayed: 1/9/18 On our return trip home, stopped here again . . friendly staff again including an appreciated "courtesy" call checking to see if everything was fine; as courtesy they offered "no chg" for wifi usage. read more

This was the best of the Motel six on our road trip The room was clean the internet worked hot water and best of all comfy beds and a good price. All in all I'd recommend the place I actually got a good night's sleep here which is more than I can say for the other ones we stayed at. read more

Please do NOT stay here. Hair on the sheets and pillows. Stains on walls, doors, light switches, and bed. I have never felt more disgusted in my life. Sleeping in a alley would be a lot cleaner read more

For the price it's not bad! The beds were clean, the TV worked, the AC worked and there was hot water. Lots of dinner options in the area. Easy access to I-40. Little bit of mold or mildew in the shower and the floors could have been mopped. Like I said, for the price it wasn't bad. read more

It is really filthy and I cant even think about how travelers with children even sleep here. WiFI was virtually non existent and coffee in the morning was stone cold and taste like water Bad management and consumer be-aware. read more

We arrived at around 8:30 and it had just started to rain. I could see this had been some other hotel prior to being a Motel 6, so I thought it would be okay. It was certainly cheap. There was no elevator. The floors were laminate and the room was roomy with sufficient outlets. The bed was on a platform, no box springs. There was a microwave on top of a refrigerator. I have seen others mention paying for the internet, but wifi was open and free. The AC heat didn't work and it was cracked. Either renovations have not been completed or the place is being torn up quicker than it can be repaired. After we had been there about 20 minutes, men were sitting in the hallway eating from Whataburger bags talking very loudly (why in the hallway?). This didn't feel safe, so we packed up and asked for a refund. The clerk promptly and politely refunded our credit card. Not knowing what part of town we were in, we went on to Lubbock. read more

The GM of this Motel 6 is the best!! I had a pretty bad experience here, and when I filled out the survey they email you after your stay I let them know what happened and how I just didn't feel that it was a good stay. Not even an hour later, the GM Amanda had emailed me, fixed my problem, and was the kindest, most helpful person I have ever dealt with. They have made a loyal Motel 6 customer out of me!! read more

We love Motel 6, this one however wasn't one of the cleanest ones we have stayed at. The price for Motel 6 was as always great. Dogs of course stay for free! read more

Room looked nice and surprisingly stylish. Big flat screen TV with cable and HD capability, but it was on store mode. The staff was miserable and unfriendly, but whatever, they work in a sketchy motel. The AC in the room was kind of messed up during the night, which sucked because it was 99° and we drove all day in it with no AC. only thing that really annoyed me was the fitted sheet didn't fit the bed so it came off all night and we had to keep fixing it. read more

Exceeded my expectations. Clean, inexpensive and the staff was excellent! Right down the street from the Big Texan if you wanted to have some fun visiting there. Only draw back is we were on second floor and could hear a noise which we thought was coming from the bathroom fan next door and after calling down to the desk found out it was actually from the motel sign on the rooftop. Try and get away from the upper level facing the freeway! Would stay again. read more

Stayed one night here. Room smelly, floor a little dirty, air conditioner leaked water onto floor. Not terrible, just okay for price. It was cheap and dog friendly, so worked for us. read more

Stayed here for one night, could not beat the price, CLEAN with King Bed..they take dogs and our dog did fine... Would stay here again!

This is the kind of motel room you don't want to walk barefoot in. No continental breakfast, no shampoo or conditioner, just 200 square feet and the depressing thought of lonely truck drivers spending their nights here. It's even sadder in the daylight. read more

This is my second time staying in this hotel (may 2015 & may 2016) and I have absolutely no complaints. The staff is super friendly and will answer any questions you may have without hesitation and even give advice! The beds are comfortable, they allow pets and the rooms smell so clean! It's rare to find such a great hotel at such an affordable price after traveling 13 hours and being so tired. I will always stay here whenever I come by Amarillo :) read more

Great motel 6. While the room was utilitarian in the usual motel 6 way, it was very nice and clean. The room was quiet and the staff was friendly. read more

I was passing through to Albuquerque from Plano and stopped to get a room for the night. The room was over 50 dollars for just one person. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The pillows had little stains and the bed covers had small holes that looked to be cigarette burns which is ironic because my room was non smoking. The bed covers had small stains as well. The floor was still dirty and the plastic for my ice bucket was dirty and sticky. The highway was really loud, you'll hear it all night. You can also hear other people and the water in other rooms. Lastly, when I first got to my room it was about 9:30 at night and the door was literally wide open... I'm not sure why.. Basically if you just want a shelter for the night stay here. If you would like to be comfortable and get a good nights sleep, I recommend staying elsewhere!!! I'm a college student and don't really have high standards or need fancy things, so I rarely complain but this place was really uncomfortable, even I would splurge a few extra dollars for a decent hotel. There's not even a little radio clock or coffee pot. You also have to pay for wifi. It's not worth it. read more
