My wife and I were on a 10 day tour of Italy and I saw brewpub on Yelp. We are going! It was a nice 30 minute walk from our hotel and we entered the establishment. It was empty at 12, but people started trickling in. I ordered a couple IPAs while I was there and their beer is spot on. The lady behind the bar didn't speak English very well, since it was out of the tourist part of town, but she was nice enough. My wife kept asking for no oil on her pizza, but then she said "No olio" She recognized it immediately. Pizza was a little greasy and for Italy we wanted perfect pizza. It was maybe a 7 of 10. Great Beer and Pizza! My hubby and I were delighted this place was near our apartment rental. The walls are decorated with fun art drawings, there were MTV oldies playing which was fun to see and you order at the bar and take your seat, then they will bring items to you. We had the Florentine Pizza and it was excellent! My hubby enjoyed his spicy Florentine Burger and the homemade chips! Our favorite beer was their Martalinna, a Belgium style brew which went down smoothly for a higher grade test that it was. The taps change with the season so some of the stouts were not available in summer when we were there. They sell small or large pints which was good to have options. Reasonable prices, but really very warm inside, no air flow to speak of, so wear short sleeves. read more

Mostodolce is a likable, casual place that send to be popular with university age folks. I can see why - it's really cheap and it's more beer-focused. (You can get cocktails too but I don't think they really serve wine) Anyway, you place you order at the counter and when it's ready they bring it to you. We both opted for calzones - they're absolutely huge, like as long as my arm! And I think they were something like €6. Anyway, mine was ham and cheese, and it was "good". The filling had released some moisture and so the crust got a bit soggy. My husband really liked their imperial stout (I believe it's their own brew) so if you're more into beer than wine, or if you're on a budget, this is a good stop. read more

A week into my Italy vaca, I just couldn't handle much more wine. I'm a beer kid all the way, so discovering Mostodolce's existence (via Yelp) right down the street from my Florentine hotel was an exciting moment. I only had one beer here due to the late hour: their house-brewed Blackdoll. Compared to the other local brews I had tried during my trip, this was one of the major standouts. It was SO good. So smooth. So easy to drink, especially for a stout. I should've ordered a large! (You get the choice -- large or small.) Others in my group ordered a bag of mixed fried food, but I couldn't decide on anything myself, so I tried one of their chicken nuggets. It was pretty good, but the burgers at other tables looked better. I stopped myself from making a return visit while solo wandering the next day. Looking back, I wish I hadn't! Discovered this place on yelp right after arriving to our home away from home for the few days we're in Florence. We love craft beer and thought it would be a nice break from wine. Don't worry...we'll be back to wine soon enough... Anyway, I'm a home brewer and like to think I know about beer and my wife and I enjoy craft beer enough that we had our wedding reception at a brewery. Long story short is the food was great and the beer was good, too. Some styles were unlike what we get in that US and that was a nice treat for my pallet. The wait staff were friendly but they were swamped which led to a little inattentiveness. Overall though it was a great experience and if I lived in Florence I'd be a regular! read more

I am a loyal customer to this place and one day I ordered 3 sandwiches with fries and they forced me to pay 50 euros just because I was American. Don't support places like these that like to rob people even someone who always went to eat there. A local suggested this place and we LOVED it!! The artesanal beers were smooth and rich with unique flavour. Then... wow, they have a pizza/calzone crossover. Focaccia dough stuffed with goat cheese and truffle cream then covered with fresh arugula, smoked duck meat, truffle oil and parmesan. Mind. Blown. Located on via nazionale - the most annoying street to walk down since everyone is heading towards the station and has a million bags covering the small, tiny sidewalks. A little brewery restaurant, they are known for their awesome beer, pizza and burgers. I have been here once before to try their beer. I like that they have a few different types though you have to ask what they actually have in stock. The last time we went, we each ordered a burger for a really great price for 6 euros (which includes fries). My burger was really tasty and came with truffle cream! awesome. They use great bread and i was really surprised how good it was. We also each got a beer, all very good and the place itself is really cool. Small but plenty of seats and has a warm, comfortably brewery feel to it. Perfect place for lunch if you need to be near the station and want a good pit stop that isn't overpriced! read more

Our yearly family vacation to Italy just got a lot better with the discovery of this place. Just a week in Florence and we stopped here three times. We only ate wings one time and beer ice cream, both were fantastic, but the reason we came back was for the beer. Heavenly, heavenly chestnut honey beer. And lots of it. We made our way through all of the taps but this is the one beer that stood out, if I could strap a keg to my back and bring it back home I would have. NOTE: I did not have any food during my visit, so this review is strictly based on beer/ambiance... After two days in Florence, filled with plenty of sight-seeing and good Tuscan food at dinner with plenty of Chianti, we had a cool and rainy day. In the mid-afternoon, after a visit to Basilica di San Lorenzo, I walked a few blocks up to this bar for an early happy hour/pre-dinner pick-me-up. I am a homebrewer, and have sampled (according to my Untappd app) over 250 different beers in over 100 different venues in over 40 U.S. states and/or foreign countries. Before this leads me too far down the path of introspection, suffice it to say I know a little about beer, or at least what I like in beer. The space is funky and welcoming, and the clients a mix of Italians and tourists. I sampled two of their beers in draft: Francesco (an American-style Pale Ale) and Prova 3 (a brown ale). Both were tasty and true to style, and a bargain at €4 each. I understand that their brews have won some awards at Italian beer festivals. Also, other patrons did have food during my visit and all seemed pleased with their meals. A fine place for a little siesta during a less than pleasant Florentine afternoon. read more

Located close to the train station which is very convenient if traveling to/from there. This place was super packed the first night we went there, and it didn't take long to figure out why. They have a few different beers on tap they brew themselves and the couple I tried were quite tasty, one had a slight sweet taste which I preferred. The pizza was good as well, nothing mind-blowing, but pretty good. This place seemed to be popular with a lot of college students studying abroad which I found to add to the atmosphere, I like meeting and talking to easy-going/laid back people who can tell me about the local area, and I found that to be the case there. We liked it enough that we went back the next day, and we were only there for two days. I recommend this place and would go back in a heartbeat! read more

We were walking in Florence and found this place by accident. We generally prefer beer to wine, so to happen upon a brewery in Tuscany was pretty cool. The beer was good, and the meat and cheese appetizer was excellent. The service was a little slow and disinterested. A friend and I heard great things about this place from other students studying abroad. The claim to fame: pizza and in-house brewed beer. The atmosphere inside was really cool, and encouraged friendly table-to-table conversation (we ended up chatting to the people at the table next to us), though some may be bothered by the closeness of the tables. My pizza had pomodoro sauce, black olives, ham, artichokes, mozzarella, and hot dog, which I thought would be sausage but turned out to be hot dog. I ended up picking it off, but the rest of the pizza was amazing. The crust was super thin and crispy, and had a charred brick-oven taste. The beer we each ordered was fantastic, and I would have stayed all night to try them all if I wasn't so full. For dessert, we ordered the "biramisu," which was kind of disappointing because there wasn't much of a beer taste, not much espresso, and a whole lot of marscapone. If you like craft beer and phenomenal food - this is the place for you. I found Mostodolce randomly walking down the streets of Florence. I walked in since it was the only beer dominated place I've seen in Italy. It was A-mazing. The beers were great and the food was just as tasty. I went 3 times! I had the french fries with fried onions, burgers (highly recommend) and the 1/2 focaccia, 1/2 calzone that was recommended by a fellow reviewer. All were excellent, not to mention the food and drink prices. Plus there is a happy hour - dollar off beers. read more
