Wanted to add a safety check for skis and boots going into new season. Filled out all paperwork, passed inspection and paid for both upfront. When I came to pickup nearly a week later, and past the date I was told they would be complete, there was an issue that the heel plate was worn down just over the allowable threshold. REI will not make adjustments or anything to skis/bindings. I was told I got a voicemail, but I never received a call. Pulled up my cell phone record on the spot. Worst of it all, they did not even do the wax. So my skis just sat at this location for a week, with my money, and then I picked them up and got my money back and nothing but wasted time.

After some research, I found the items for less on Amazon, so we called Hansens. My fiancé spoke with them, and they were willing to price match. Enter Patty, the awesome manager! Patty was incredibly kind and helpful--she matched the Amazon price and gave me a partial refund right on the existing order. I didn't even have to drive back to Encinitas or hassle with a return. This Walmart keeps almost everything in their beauty, toiletries section, totally locked up. Even nail polish remover which is around $2, which is what I came in for. Seeing whole sections of inexpensive products locked up is annoying and ridiculous. I bought a couple products in the grocery area (one 12 pack of soda that I didn't have to buy 8 other 12 packs for to get a good price) then went to self serve to ring myself up. If I only have 3 things, I'm not going to wait in a line for an actual cashier. There were 2 employees standing right next to my self serve line. They were two busy flirting with each other than to acknowledge any of the customers or actually do anything. This store is the worst. However, it is very close to Target. Which is also on the should avoid list, but at least they don't lock up the nail polish remover.
