I used them 4 years ago and service was great, but they were not good about giving you notice of date and time frame they would be there. I have two dogs that run freely in fenced yard and needed notice to put them up. That's why I quit using them. Figured this year I would give them another try. Still no notice and I kept seeing mosquitos after treatment on few occasions so I suspected they were not spraying thoroughly. I put up Camera's, and little did I know but on there next visit, the guy said he sprayed and didn't spray my 1/2 acre backyard at all. When I called to let them know what had happened they attempted to send the same guy that had basically just attempted to steal from me back to spray for real this time. I wouldn't let him come back and it had started raining so they sent someone the following week that did a poor job as well. The 1st guy did call to apologize for lying about spraying. Now I understand why they give you no notice. They prefer you not be there when/if they spray. The owners may be perfectly legit and honest but they employ people that are not. Wont be using or recommending them again. I live in Virginia, not California. read more

The first year we used them it was amazing! Truly great. My neighbors across the street even noticed. This year service has been horrible. I assumed that it was just a bad year for mosquitos. Towards the end of the summer I noticed that the tech wasn't at the house for long so I check my cameras. 9 minutes at the house. I could see them spray for a few and then walk around. I called and complained so they did a free spraying. I didn't think to make sure this one was better assuming they would monitor their tech, but it was still buggy out. So I timed the next one. After 6 minutes he was waking around on his phone. I only saw him spray one bush. I called and talked to a supervisor. Their answer was they could respray and refund one spraying after a full summer of lack luster service. I will be using someone else now. read more

A month after moving into a house with multiple outdoor spaces I realized I wasn't using any of them because the Mosquitos were horrendous. I am one of those people who is particularly delicious to Mosquitos; in the first week in our house I literally had over 100 bites just on my legs. I tried spraying myself with Off!, using a natural repellant on our dog, buying citronella candles. Nothing was working and I got fed up. I started price comparing and found that the mosquito authority had the best prices for the companies that service Manchester (about 20 bucks per treatment cheaper than other places I found). After the first treatment there was a noticeable drop in Mosquitos, about 66 percent drop. But they were so bad to begin with that this still meant significant bites for me. I called them and they sent someone back free of charge to redo the spray and look for breeding places. After that we were mosquito free. I've been reading outside, visiting with friends, getting full use out of our porches and yard. The treatment lasted three weeks as promised and they've been back for the next round. As an unexpected bonus, without all the Mosquitos around to eat, other bug species have moved out of our yard. It is safe for dogs and kids. Our puppy is much more comfortable in the yard. Do this for yourself. It's worth it. I probably spent more on ineffective products that first month than the cost of the effective treatment. read more

The Mosquito Authority is so great I decided to add them to Yelp! The folks at Mosquito Authority were awesome and easy to deal with, but the best part.....we have NO mosquitoes! Today for the first time I watered the backyard without being eaten alive by evil mosquitoes! AWESOME!! I am so excited because now we can enjoy our backyard without having bites all over. In 2014, I employed The Mosquito Authority to come out to Colonial Heights, VA to rid my area of mosquitos. I was skeptical at first; but this works folks! The mosquitoes were so bad in 2013 that I stopped wanting to go out on my back deck. The proof is in the pudding: Year 2013, many bites without The Mosquito Authority. Year 2014: No mosquito bites with The Mosquito Authority. Another great feature is that you can call these folks a few days before you want to have a cookout or some other outdoor activity at your home and get a very fair price for service! Their website states they can guarantee there will be no mosquitos in between treatments but if there is they will re- spray at no extra cost. Big LIE! So, because there were mosquitos in between treatments, for some reason they could not guarantee in my case aMs because they werent able to guarantee, they would not come out and spray free of charge in between treatments. I didn't renew my service this year and i have bee's again! Which is a good thing for me. I didn't realize that the spray killed mosquitoes as well as everything else. I once had a huge problem with bird size mosquitos. I always told them as i squashed them (or atleast tried to smacking myslef in the face) "You disgusting mosquitoes! Bought a one time application on Groupon that was heavly discounted compared with regular pricing. Application went well BUT periodically (about 21 days) they showed up again expecting to do their regular annual plan which, of course, did not apply to a Groupon. Was able to stop the first attempt to make other applications but arrived home today to find one of their guys spraying away, stopped him and explained the issue. read more

The Mosquito Authority came to my farm in error on August 29,2016 and sprayed my farm, which is on the Chesapeake Bay watershed, sprayed my 14 year old blind cat, that was sitting on my porch, and within 72 hours my beloved parakeet hemorrhaged to death at the bottom of the cage. I was in the process of beginning an organic farm, desiring to sell flowers at a local farmer's market. Since my farm was spayed, I am unable to sell my flowers and herbs for three years under the label of organic! Mr. Duncan, although attentive to my emotional distraught, has offered me no compensation for my work farming, no payment of $541 for a vet bill from Home Vet Care and never contacted me after our initial meeting. read more

I bought a coupon on Groupon. When I tried to redeem it, I left a message and Mosquito Authority rep called me back. The person immediately had an attitude and stated that I have an acre property and I knew the Groupon that I bought only covers a half acre, so they are going to have to upcharge me. I pointed out that half of my property is wooded and I am looking to sprayed around the yard area, which is within the half acre. She was very rude and said it did not matter that it's on the size of the property. I told her that was fine, I will pay the upcharge but I will expect them to walk through the woods and spray my entire property if I am paying for an acre of service. She said no, they will only spray the lawn area/edge of the woods, but will charge on the size of the property. I asked to speak to a manager, but got another customer service rep. She was much more polite and understood my logic. She pulled my property up online and said they would do the lawn area for the Groupon rate. We started setting up the appointment, but then she said I had to give her a my credit card number to have on file in order to set-up an account. I asked why I would need to give my credit card number when I have already paid for the Groupon. She said it would not be charged and would be on file if I requested other services when they came out. I did not want to give out my credit card number. Why can't I give them my credit card when they come out before the extra service is performed or just bill me like all my other service providers do? I decided this as too much hassle; I will just use a different company. I am now seeing if I can get my money back from Groupon. read more

Like another reviewer, bought this Groupon to try it. Very disorganized company. Said I would get an email when they would be coming, but never did and then just got a phone call one day that they were on the way. Gave the employee my Groupon when he came. Got a call a week later to see if I was happy and I said I didn't know yet because I hadn't been outside much. Then they show up two weeks later without me requesting and I told them I didn't order it and sent them away. Today I get a call that they need my groupon, even though I gave it to the man that sprayed. Well after I gave employee HEATHER my Groupon number she didn't want to hear that I was unhappy that someone just showed up or that she never sent me the first email. SO HEATHER JUST HUNG UP ON ME while I was talking. I will certainly not recommend this disorganized company that just shows up and expects you to pay them and has employees that have no sense of customer service. She could have just apologized for the poor service instead of hanging up on me. read more
