The convenience to the Holiday Inn Express is undeniably enticing despite the previous reviews. I decided to give a try and I'm glad I did. The staff is all friendly attractive young ladies that are and seem to be attentive and conscientious employees, hell, maybe owners. I went with a bowl of mushroom soup and it was outstanding. I also ordered a burger as the bartender said she thinks either are very good. And she was right. I'm somewhat particular and follow fellow Yelper reviews when choosing my eats. I have to say this place is worth eating and drinking here especially since it looks as if the Malone choices are extremely slim. read more

Worst experience ever and use to be a decent place. Ordered nachos with beef, mozzarella sticks, husband ordered buffalo chicken wrap and ordered grilled cheese for two year old. Took forever!! Not good with a two year old. Nachos were burnt so we sent back. Grilled cheese cake out last and the cheese wasn't melted and came w chips. Wrap was soggy. Get the bill they took nachos off but made us pay for the beef on it. The chips that came w the grilled cheese they charge us $2.00. I have ordered food with my colleagues several times in the past. I had called to see what options they have that are gluten free. I was told that they do have quite a few items as well as that the French onion soup they could make gluten free without the bread along with I've ordered several times online and specified that it needs to be gluten free as I have celiac disease. Well I started working back in the Malone area in September and I'd say about one a week to every other week we would order out. I started to become sicker and sicker and couldn't figure out why until a visit there last week to pick up my order. I was told that they could make the French onion soup without bread but this one employee felt the need to check the ingredients and find out that the soup indeed contains gluten. She then said if it caused no side affects then she would be happy to give it to me and I said absolutely not as then it had occurred to me that many people are not very knowledgeable in how and what celiac disease is and how this gastrointestinal disorder affects the stomach. I refuse to ever eat again at this restaurant let alone to recommend it. Hopefully this can help other people with celiac and or food allergies. If needed I can even provide exact dates of when I had called and the number of purchases that I've made. read more

Ok after driving 6 hours with my daughter we checked in our hotel, then went to Mo's only out of convenience to our hotel. We walked 2 minutes. So the service was excellent, thanks to our waitress Garana. The appetizer monkey nachos melted in our mouths. My daughter had Cheese Quesadilla, she loved them. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich, again it melted in my mouth. The price was excellent. To sum it up after a long drive Mo's Pub & Grill did an amazing job. Out if 1-10 I give them a 12. we've been here multipa times and the food is just not good. as well as their service it always takes forever. and they since last time we went they mixed up our order three times in the end bringing a grill cheese that wasn't even cooked it might as well have been bread and cheese. it's also WAY overpriced for how bad it is and their service. My family and I stopped at Mo's Pub and Grill on the way through Malone this past weekend. The restaurant was clean and the servers were very friendly and pleasant. I had a chicken salad. The portion size of the salad was disappointing. I would have preferred a lot more lettuce instead of the small handful that came with the $11 entree. Lettuce is cheap so thrown a little in please. My wife said her burger was run of the mill. The kids each received a balloon which was nice. The servers must have been busy. The server zipped by early in the meal to ask how things were, but were not around when I would have liked a refill on the $2.50 soda. I also waited a while for the server to come and process the credit card transaction. I ended up going to the payment station with the bill on my own to settle up. Perhaps the restaurant survives because it is also a bar, and located next to a Holiday Inn. Hotel guests likely go in for a few and then walk back to the room. Ordered a barbecue brisket. Fries were included and was told they would be brought out, they never were. Dipping sauces were also included and never brought. Waited never checked on us. Complained about missing items and they took $2.00 off a $53 Bill. For what it is, I give it four stars. If you are looking for a home-cooked meal full of fresh ingredients, this is NOT the place to go. Don't get me wrong, the food has good flavor, but it all tastes like it comes from a bag they've ordered from a large supply company. Well, maybe the best place in town, but this place is failing, hard and fast. I ordered the Nachos Grande, with some mozzarella sticks and jalapeño poppers. The sticks and poppers were obviously frozen; the Nachos came out with whatever cheese they had melted on them in the microwave, and were served cold. Even the guacamole was that fake "imitation" stuff, and for a minute, I thought the tea was water. All that ran me almost $37 (which, after a $5 off coupon from the Holiday Inn next door came out to... just over $30...? Is the staff doing their math right?). The waitress I had could have also been better. As I was trying to tell her my order, she would randomly shout back to the bar/kitchen to see if they had particular items on their menu (like my poppers). Kinda reminded me of that old TV show called "Alice". Also, I'm not sure if they were going for Italian eatery, Mexican restaurant, or sports bar.... but someone needs to decide.... and get rid of the Direct TV advertisement posters. Was ok. It's an applebee's/chilli's style establishment. Can't speak to the rest of the menu but what we ordered was reasonably priced. Quality of food was good. Definitely not gourmet though. Service was alright but could have been better. Would give another 1/2 star but haven't figured out how to do that if its at all possible. read more

Kinda reminded me of Applebee's. Nothing drastic to complain about but I felt like the food was average and the prices were high for the quality. I got a Chipotle smoked Gouda pasta and chicken dish. It was fair. Generous sauce and decent with the spice. I tried my boyfriend's pulled pork and want crazy about it (but I can be picky about meat). They did have a wonderful local draft beer on tap called deerfly that was tasty and our server was super friendly and accommodating. I love this place. I always have great food when I'm there (I'm a huge fan of their chicken wing dip). I went there last time I was home and I ordered the dip and my family devoured it. I also know the owners rather well and everyone is always so friendly when I'm there. The only complaint I have is that it's kinda loud in the restaurant which is fine for me but when I take my grandma there (who is already difficult of hearing) it's not the best for her but she does still go there with the family and her friends and she loves the food. Maybe it's possible to work on the acoustics or something? But honestly, other than that...it's a great place and I can't wait to go back when I'm home this summer! read more

The waitress and hostess are super friendly. The food is just a - okay. I got the pulled pork sandwich and Cajun fries. Nothing too spectacular about either of them. The coleslaw is pretty good, only because I don't like watery coleslaw or vinegary coleslaw or salty coleslaw. It was just the right texture. Food is ok for a chain-like place like this. I've had many of the items on the menu. Burgers are solid. Steaks are good compared to what you would get at Applebees. Pasta's are just ok, nothing great - would avoid if possible. Wings are ok - I'd suggest getting them "crispy" as they are served on non-crispy side normally. Ribs weren't very good. I'd stay away from anything with shrimp as it seems to be overcooked each time I've ordered it. For dessert, I would suggest the Choc Lava cake. Also had the Carrot Cake (solid) and Chocolate Chip Pie (not my fav). read more

Not impressed. Ordered the prime rib French dip and got roast beef with a slice of half melted Swiss on top. I asked the waiter and he said he asked the cook and was told it was prime rib soaked in beef juice. It was dry and clearly looked like roast beef for sandwiches. No way it was prime rib. The "dip" tasted like dish water. So gross!!! Anyone who has has prime rib knows the difference between that and sandwich roast beef!!! read more

Solid locally sourced food, amazing homemade chips, great choice if you're in Malone.

One of the nicer restaurants in malone. The inside was clean and upscale. The monkeys hanging from the celing gave the place a little whimsey. Went there twice on vacation. We were seated quickly and the staff was friendly. The food came out quickly. Ordered the chicken sandwich the first time and the chicken was dry. Also ordered the crab bisquewhich was salty and had a funny after taste. The waffle fries were tasty and well seasoned. Was ready to write the place off until I had the chocolate chip cookie dough pie for dessert. It wss one of the best desserts ive had outside a gourmet bakery. It was gooey and chocolatey the ice cream gave it a nice touch. Came back a second time for the cookie dough pie and had the sangria drink and waffle fries and chicken tenders. They were decent compared to other chain in eat restaurants. My husband had the carmel apple pie and fajitas which he said were pretty good. I traveled to Malone on business today and on check in they gave me a $5 off discount for a meal there. It was right across the parking lot and I was traveling alone and they had bar seating so I figured I'd try it out. It's definitely the best place in Malone. The bartender, Sarah I believe her name was was extremely nice and service was quick, I had a beer nearly instantly and the draft system they have gives a perfectly refreshing, cold beer. I had my food quite quickly, certainly they run a quick kitchen, I think I had it in under 10 minutes. Food was excellent, as was the price. The Holiday Inn next door is owned by the same people I believe, it's new, it's clean, it has a pool and a hot tub. If traveling to the Malone area for business or pleasure this is definitely where you want to eat and stay. read more

I spent the night at the Holiday Inn next to Mo's after dropping my son off at college. I only had drinks and no food so this is only a commentary on the bar crowd. Three gentlemen from a state road paving crew started chatting with me shortly after I sat down. Very quickly they told me they were Trump supporters. I quickly made it clear through my facial expressions and body language that I did not agree with them and clearly did not want to discuss politics, but they continued with their commentary...for a long time! I live in New Hampshire and I have never had anyone so quickly push their political views on me in a bar. I just wanted a couple glasses of wine after a long day. I got the Chicken parm sandwich, was so dry I asked for more marinara sauce, well I got this little black thing that maybe held a tablespoon of sauce, get this I was charged for it!!! I placed this review with the Holiday Inn Express because the restaraunt is next to it and the same company. The restaraunt Mo's sportsbar is by far the worst food we have ever experienced at any restaraunt. It was so bad even our kids complained before we said something. "dad, the mac and cheese is watered down" said our nine year old. My wife did not eat her meal it was so bad. She is a bad cook and stated she could do better. This place preys on travelers who see it attached to the Holiday Inn, assume its probably good ( its very nice looking) but my guess is locals wont go there. By the way we live in a pretty big metropolitan area and were shocked by how high the prices were. Our meal for a family of five was $71.00 plus tip with no alchol and three of our meals were off the kids menu. . My entre, which has fahitas was $17.00 which shocked me for Malone. I pay about $12.00 in Austin. Its clear the owner is from NYC because he must think these prices are cheep. By the way we had to hunt down the waitress to pay, waited forever for our food and it was only bout ten percent full. read more

Ate at Mo's tonight. Really good service and food. Just passing through but would recommend for the traveler.

My significant other and I decided to go to Mo's for my birthday because it appeared to be a nice establishment with high priced food that in our terms would be considered a "fancy restaurant". However we were fooled by this illusion. We waited a few minutes to be seated only to seem invisible to the lacking staff that was there. We waited about 25 minutes til finally we saw the hostess walking by and asked if anyone was going to wait on us. After that issue was resolved and the blame passed onto new staff we were finally able to order. We still waited longer than we should have on just our drinks. We ordered an appetizer which was decent, however my $26 steak that I asked to be cooked at medium rare was more so at a medium well, the quality of the meat was disappointing, ive gotten better NY strips from Walmart for half the price , it was surrounded by hard fat and I was only equipped with a knife sharp enough to slice some butter. It was also missing the bacon jam it was supposed to come with. As a side I got some loaded waffle fries, except the cheese was not even melted in the fires, more like just sprinkled on top. I asked for a refill and the waitress completely forgot and I did not get it until I also received a check. Now, I know maybe the person was new or possibly having a rough night, but the overall hospitality and attitude from the staff was very disappointing and sad, as the entire experience. read more

Clean restaurant.. Monkeys hanging from the ceiling which I equate to the amount of people that subsequently hung themselves after eating here. Nice bar area but thats it. Buffalo dip was weak at best. Server did bring over separate sauce container after we told her it was poor. Wife had a burger which was special for the day which was overcooked and dry as can be except for the gallon of barbecue sauce on top of it. Roll was old and somewhat stale. Onions were burned on the burger which was "special". I had a panini Reuben which was on regular bread n put in a panini maker which was nothing but a soggy sandwich with packaged meat, they even forgot to put on the Swiss cheese. We were both so hungry before getting there that we did eat everything so if you are so hungry and the McDonalds is closed then this is your place. I will say the cajun fries were seasoned well and our waitress was pleasant. Not her fault but my guess she suffers from tips. We actually watched a family of four stand and wait almost ten minutes to be seated when there were at least fifteen tables that were empty as the Hostess was no where to be found. read more
