They typically come either same day or next day, with absolutely no additional emergency service charge. The focus is on taking the appropriate time to properly diagnose your plumbing issue, then providing you with the right fix. Then, to top it all off, their charges are very fair and reasonable. Unlike many other services, there is NO attempt to overcharge. In fact, they are probably undercharging as any other plumbing service would charge much more for the exact same service, some probably two to three times as much. So, do yourself a favor, if you have a plumbing problem to fix, give them a call. They will come out fairly promptly, give you the exact fix you need, and charge you a very reasonable price. Avoid the other competition that loves to price gouge customers.

Before I had the work completed, I got a quote for the plumbing job and was told it would be $115 an hour. So, I went ahead and scheduled the service. It took 30 minutes to complete the job, so imagine my surprise when I get an invoice for $190!!!! That math doesn't quite add up. I called to get clarification and they basically told me that the plumbers "set their own rates." So what good is getting a quote at all??? Basically, they just charge what they want. I became suspicious of the aging inducer motor as it was loud and, suddenly one cold day, we were no longer getting heat and the red-green LED indicator lights on the furnace were flashing a code for service. For HVAC service, there are many providers in our area, but we went with one based on a recommendation of a family we know--we chose to try P&P Heating and Cooling Service. Scheduling was easy with great help from office manager, Stephanie, and we met Daren as he arrived, right on time, to help us out. Within a few minutes, he confirmed the diagnosis of a bad inducer and left to get one from his warehouse. A few minutes later, Daren called me and told me great news: he had the exact motor needed for my furnace (so we didn't have to wait for an ordered motor) and, in the meantime, he contacted American Standard directly for us and had the new motor covered under our American Standard warranty! He went above-and-beyond, in our minds, by doing this for us. I sincerely feel that Daren treated us with the same honest care--including checking the warranty coverage--that he would provide for himself or his own family. We are extremely pleased with our first experience with P&P, and will call on them for our service needs going forward. Very Disappointing Experience -- I Would Not Hire Again…read moreUnfortunately, my experience with this company was extremely disappointing. The installation was poorly done, and the AC unit only worked for approximately one month before all of the refrigerant leaked out. The overall workmanship and professionalism were also concerning. Trash and debris were left throughout the work area, and the installer appeared unprepared for the job, including asking to borrow and use my personal tools. Communication became another major issue. There were multiple occasions when the installer did not show up when promised, and eventually communication stopped altogether despite my attempts to reach out. When I contacted them regarding the problems with the installation and asked about warranty coverage, they refused to honor the warranty. I also requested documentation showing that they were properly licensed and insured to perform the work on my home, but I was unable to obtain proof of either. Overall, this experience was frustrating and far below the level of professionalism I expected. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company and would not hire them again.

The replacement went exactly the way he said and took no longer than the time that was estimated. There were no added fees, just the rate I was quoted. I recently had Block Electric do a pretty major job for me on an older house. They were…read morerecommended by my realtor after purchasing the house. The job was a re-wiring of the place - most of the existing wiring was old (very old!) knob and twist. My insurance company wouldn't cover it unless it was updated. Block quoted me an original amount to do the work, and he stayed at that amount even though some aspects of the job ended up costing him more than expected. They ended up removing almost all the original wiring, putting in new outlets through plaster walls, and putting in hard-wired smoke and carbon monoxide detectors that are all wired together. They had to do a couple other things in order to get the wiring all the way up to code. (Urbana Electrical code is very specific and very involved.) When I stopped by to check on the work, they were always willing to explain what they were doing and how the progress was going. I really appreciated this, especially since I don't know very much about electrical work. They also put in a circuitbreaker instead of a fusebox and helpfully labelled all the circuits. Further, they set up the circuits in a really logical way, with more energy-requiring outlets having their own breaker. My only caveat is that it was originally hard to schedule the work, which I suspect was because I was trying to do so just before the holidays. But once we had settled on the date, Dan Block and his crew were there bright and early, and did so each day after that. If I need any more electrical work done, I will be calling Block Electric. They did an excellent job and were very fair about the price.

Block was there in 30 minutes, assessed the situation, and called in three more guys. They were not going to leave me without power in a dangerous situation! 6 hours later they had fixed all the mistakes that had been made in the 25 years of bad electricians being in there, installed a completely new box, matching breaker, and a new main.
