I am afraid water has gotten in. I called Ace 2 times and was told I would get a call back both times. Originally, we wanted a new roof, some type of exterior siding (we ended up going with vinyl) and new windows. As like many people this was our wish list. I started making calls as I was told by family members to get three estimates, fortunately this was no small task. The first few I called did not answer or the phone was disconnected. I know contractors are busy people but I wanted to speak to an ACTUAL PERSON instead of a voicemail. Long story short I finally reached two contractors and Ace being my third. First guy shows up 20 minutes late to our appointment, I understand this but a courtesy call letting me know he was running behind would have went a long way. Second contactor held his appointment and showed up on time. My third and final call was based on a BBB recommendation for Ace that I found on the internet. The first two contractors I found on the internet but without a BBB referral. Just to cut to the chase we ended up doing the roof and the vinyl siding. We chose the Owens Corning duration estate gray, and went with a lighter siding that held a slight hint of blue. (beautiful). Initially our goal was to complete the windows as well, however this put us over budget. We are hoping to hire Ace back next year to complete the windows. I was very pleased with how Joe from Ace Construction explained the estimate while sitting at our kitchen table, this took over two hours, we had a lot of questions. This being the single biggest reason we hired Joe with Ace. The other two companies did not take the time to explain the products and how each product is used during the roofing process. One company mailed the estimate and the other seemed to be in a rush. In closing the job turned out wonderful, and the color combination Joe helped us choose exceeded our expectations. My husband and I are a little order and after hearing so many horror stories of people being ripped off from contractors I felt compelled to let people know that Ace Construction stands behind their word, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for work to be completed.

Here is a response he wrote to our complaint on www.handyamerican.com. Feel free to check it out for yourself, especially if you are considering hiring him to build your new home. Sebestyen & Williams Inc. added these comments: Our heating company made several attempts to repair this system which is still repairable but were denied access to job site because owners demanded new equipment that already was 5 years old. It looks like they couldn't get the new equipment and didn't want any repairs. We tried even after warranty period to repair units but these unreasonable people would rather trash our good name than allow professionals to fix there system. These people have done this before with other businesses and most likely will try again. Sebestyen's reply to our complaint on this website is not true. Bruce Sebestyen is dishonest. If what he says is true then why didn't he agree to bring this to arbitration with the BBB? I will gladly give anyone a copy of his email stating that Sertech Heating and Cooling were at fault and that they are the reason the units failed in the first place. It also shows how long it took us to get him out here to inspect the units with another HVAC company (BRS Mechanic) that also recommended the units be replaced and BRS Mechanic told us they would give us an estimate on the cost of replacing our geothermal with a high efficiancy air to air heat pump (because it was a cheaper way to go) and that was the last we ever heard from BRS or Bruce. That is when we took him to the BBB. The system was only 3 years old when it failed not 5 years and we have written verification of exactly what was wrong with the units and that they needed to be replaced. I feel for anyone in the future that hires him and realizes that he isn't what he makes himself out to be. I hope that sharing our experience will help prevent people from being taken by him and his unscrupulous subcontractors. I had Grand Roofing give me an estimate to fix a leak on my roof and give the whole roof an…read moreinspection to identify any other things that needed to be fixed. Grand Roofing was the second company that I got an estimate from, the estimate from Grand Roofing was significantly less than the other company due to a lot less "padding" in the estimate from Grand Roofing and a more focused scope of work. For example, estimate # 1 wanted to replace all shingles going up the roof for maybe 15 feet whereas Grand Roofing replaced 3-5 feet where the leak was actually occurring. Another area of "padding" in the other estimate was 4 hours of labor ($553) to fix the other issues with my roof which were addressed by Grand Roofing in under an hour. I went with Grand Roofing: they fixed the leak and were able to address the other roof issues for a much more reasonable estimate. Hopefully I won't need a new roof for another decade but if I do I'm definitely going to be going with Grand Roofing again due to their honest business practices.
