The Grandin Agency

Smart, knowledgeable, and straightforward. The Grandin Agency team has a tremendous amount of…read moreexperience and expertise in markets throughout the country and are bringing a new set of standards, technology, and tools for property owners, buyers, and sellers to the Roanoke Valley. I expect them to grow quickly and make other realtors and property managers actually earn their living in the local real estate industry. If you are getting the bare minimum from your real estate professional, talk to these guys and see what you are paying for and not currently getting.

Please take heed to all the other horrible reviews this agency, Grandin Agency, has received…read more They're all 100% true. I wish I read them before I've made the mistake of applying to one of their rental properties. The property manager, Jason Rogeneese, or however that stupid last name is spelled, is a raging narcissist, and I have no idea how he's still in business, and how property owners trust him with their properties. He is severely rude, agressive, and that obnoxious attitude of his is nausiating. This man probably has a really small, tiny penis, and is mad at the world because of it. I made the horrid mistake of applying to one of their rentals that was full of roaches and smelled like black mold. Kitchen was full of mouse droppings. The oven was horrific and I would not dare bake anything in it, ever. When I showed up to my viewing the door was wide open, and since the rental was in a not so desirable area, with a lot of foot traffic and folks doing drugs right behind it, I asked Jason R. if the locks were changed since the previous tenant left, as that was a safety concern. This simple and polite question triggered this raging a*hole to the point where he sent me a rude email and cancelled my previously approved application. He wanted my deposit within 24hrs of approval before even answering a simple door locks question. They rushed me so much to get my deposit which was a red flag. In their documents clause they force you to initial that you agree that they can keep your deposit for no reason even without giving you the rental, even after you've paid their application fee and gotten approved. Another red flag. They forced me to transfer electricity and internet to that address immediately, and rushed everything, but answering a simple safety question was too much. They were texting me at 1:00am forcing me to give away personal details about my electric company, and took liberty in transfering services to their rental before even giving me the keys. The proper order of things is always you apply, you get approved, you sign the lease, you pay deposit and 1st month's rent, THEN you transfer services and sign up for renter's insurance. NOT with this scamming a** agency that just wants to steal your money/deposit and put you in a rental that no one cleaned since the 1950s. Shame on you all. I hope all property owners stop doing business with this raggedy and scamming property manager Jason, they would be smart to cut all ties with him. 10 reviews and they're all 1. 10 people are not all liars. Just read some of his replies to reviews on here, that's a butthurt man who's ego is bruised that he's getting the negative reviews that he deserves. You're better off elsewhere, anywhere. NEVER apply with this agency, unless you want your time and money wasted.

I haven't dealt with or talked to anyone in the office other than Rob Lawson, though I'm confident…read moreeveryone there is just as amazing! But I have to give my 5 stars and sincere appreciation to Rob! I have been renting through Lawson Realty Group since 2014 and although there were some issues with the first home, Rob was ALWAYS on top of it!!! I could call/text him any time something broke or needed his attention and he would call me back right away expressing his concerns and deepest apologies!! When it came time to move, I ONLY searched for houses on their site. (www.lawson.pro) I ended up waiting 4 months until I found the house I wanted to make a new home,.... I did NOT want to have to go from being spoiled rotten, to having to deal with someone who wouldn't give a #$@! about me or the property I'm renting. I can only hope that the company KNOWS how truly lucky they are to have such a dedicated, friendly, down to earth and AMAZING agent working his butt off to please his clients!! He's definitely one of a kind and I'm honored to call him my rental agent!!!!! A++ Rob! ~McVitty :)

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I've rented from Lawson since the covid shutdown. Things have…read morealways been kinda fine, but the past year it's gotten bad. They don't do anything when you ask them to please remind the other tenants in the house to take down the trash, or pick up their dogs poop in our shared yard, it's mildly infuriating, but that's not the reason I'm writing this review. Last winter there was a mice issue, a man from LRG and the exterminator came out and set poison out. LRG said they would coordinate with the exterminator to come back to collect the poison, I never heard anything back. This kinda annoyed me, but I was like whatever I can get rid of this poison food crap myself. Fast forward to now, I stepped into a piece of rotted wood by the wall in our bedroom. This was the same time we found black mold in our A/C unit in our bedroom so I had them come out for both at the same time. They cleaned our A/C unit and cut out the wall(wall was rotting too), sprayed it with bleach and covered it with painters plastic, and that was it(April 10). Austin Jones contacted me (April 11) and said that he would keep us in the loop with everything going on, and ONCE AGAIN, I never heard anything. I sent a message(May 22) quite frustrated, because there is a hole in my wall and rotting floor in the room where my infant sleeps, so this is a big issue to me. Never got a response and I'm posting this review today (May 30).

I didn't get my "welcome letter" or a response to my maintenance request from them until a couple weeks later. When I did get the request placed, I had to call them to find out that the key they had didn't work, and they asked me about getting a replacement. Thankfully I didn't have any more maintenance requests after that was finally taken care of. I gave my notice to vacate 3/1/20, and was told to notify Crystal if I would like to be present for the move-out inspection. I did so, and after two weeks of trying to contact her I got a response stating that due to COVID-19 I could not be present. (I could not find any rules regarding this; it would have been a meeting of two people and I had stated I would wear a mask.) Towards the end of the lease the property I was renting was put up for sale. MKB notified me whenever a realtor was scheduled to enter the unit. However, one afternoon at work I received a voicemail from Amanda accusing me of changing the locks because a realtor had trouble getting in. (screenshot of the voicemail transcription is attached) When I called back I got a non-apology of "sorry that offended you".  During quarantine I advised MKB that my at-risk fiance was working from home. Despite their closed office and their hesitance to give me a date for move-out inspection, they were fine sending realtors and prospective buyers to the occupied unit. Amanda generously told me I could open a window while other people were present. Two months after giving notice I received a date for the inspection. We were to meet at the property at 3:00, but Crystal didn't show up until 3:40. The return deposit check arrived within time frame, at least. My experience with MKB was a huge stress and their staff is highly unprofessional. Don't rent from them if you can help it.
