It's nice to be able to support a local business that truly takes care of its customers. I would definitely recommend Colores Tree Service and would use them again!

Disappointing Experience - Look Elsewhere for Tree Services…read more Unfortunately, my experience with this business was very disappointing. The owner did not visit the property to provide a quote and instead relied solely on photos. He then requested a 10% deposit before even meeting in person or reviewing the job onsite -- something he claimed was required by California law, which is incorrect. We declined to pay any deposit without a proper estimate or consultation. We also found that the pricing he offered was not competitive -- it was similar to what other tree service companies quoted, many of whom provided more professional and responsive service. We ultimately went with another company that came out the same day, assessed the job in person, discussed the project in detail, and gave us a quote -- all without requesting any upfront payment. When I informed this business that we chose a different provider, the owner responded in an unprofessional and defensive manner. There are many reputable tree service companies in the area that offer free in-person estimates, no upfront fees, and have many strong reviews across Yelp and Google. I recommend exploring those options instead of this one. Feel free to message me directly if you'd like more details about my poor experience. Response to the owner: First, you were the one who suggested the price we agreed on via text message. Then you suddenly brought up a contract and a 10% deposit. You're incorrect in stating that a 10% deposit is mandatory in California--it's optional and up to the contractor. Many other companies don't require it. Also, I don't see why I should pay 10% upfront when we haven't even met in person and you haven't visited the job site. The other company already finished the job in half a day and took the payment after the job was completed.

I had a large oak tree in my front yard. It had become diseased and was in the process of dying. An arborist confirmed that the tree should be approved to be removed. He also gave advice regarding "shock" to a tree if too much is removed at once. (This job was primarily to cut back trees along my property line, so that if these notoriously breakable Cypress tree limbs shattered in a storm, they would not fall on my neighbors' homes or fences.) He and his crew also provided excellent cleanup, with */no damage whatsoever/* to structures or fencing in VERY TIGHT work areas, with only 1 foot of clearance between the 30 inch diameter eucalyptus tree being trimmed and the fence: He didn't drop ANY limbs or branches onto the fence or the neighboring shrubs. His quote was fair and this job was difficult, due to the other part of it being Cypress trees that tend to split under wind load. I had had one "rush" job done the "La Niña" in 2021 by the only tree service available at the time (NOT his) and I am quite sure that A&A Tree Care would have charged 10 to 20% less for the same job. Also, he split the bill into two clear sections, so that the work on the eucalyptus tree, which was in the neighbors yard, was shown as a separate part of the estimate. This was important, as my neighbor had offered to pay for the trimming of that tree, where it was overhanging my fence and property line; the neighbors tree was a particular nuisance to me, as it was constantly dropping seeds and branches down into my trees and shrubs below. I began my own building contractor work at age 16 during high school summers and did my first arborist style of tree climbing on the tall straight, Jeffrey and Ponderosa Pines in the San Jacinto mountains in Southern California, so I know the hazards of the work and the difficulties of doing a trimming job in limited spaces. He didn't run his chainsaws or wood any longer than was absolutely necessary, as he said "Even though this noise level is permitted during the day, I don't want to disturb your neighbors anymore than I have to. I can't recommend him highly enough!
