The staff have always looked after me (most obvs because I was like their weekly bringing a gang with me each time lol). Their food is lovely and shisha is BOOM. It's the only place where parting with my money is okay for the experience - considering how expensive one is in Central London. From Irn Bru to Skittles, they've got a crazy range of flavours and so expect this place to always be busy. The sooner you get here, the better. Oh and I went here for New Years since they held an event, I danced my socks off in the later hours at this but it was so packed, my granny self probably can't handle it anymore :D

I went there on Saturday afternoon for dinner. We had the lamb and the kofta tagines, the kofta was amazing, the lamb was ok but felt a little bit under seasoned. As sides we got the dolma and the calamari. The dolmas melted in your mouth and were pretty good (served warm as they should be). The calamari was a bit harder to chew so as a Greek person I would rate it ok but nothing great. The side sauce the starters came with was great though. After the food we decided to try the cocktails. I had the Guilty which tasted like alcoholic dessert, so right up my street, and I also tried the fireman, good for whiskey drinkers bit not really my cup of tea. In terms of atmosphere I think the restaurant tries to be more posh than it is but the massive screens with the football on everywhere you look are incongruous with the atmosphere they are trying to create. There is also a semi- outside area for shisha which feels more Moroccan but it was full of football fans and smoke. In general I think it's good enough but maybe not as authentic as it could have been and it could do with a few more authentic Moroccan dishes in the menu.

I've never been to Morocco. I've been to London a few times. It's all relative, I understand. When…read moreI was much younger, my typical London stay would always involve a West End theatre night followed by Moroccan food. Had my heart set on North African food as I've been to East Africa and I much prefer Northern African food over East African food. So there was my qualifier. Having said that, we came to Tagine for a special meal to celebrate a very special occasion, which we'd often do abroad as of late, mostly in France and Germany but this year we ended up in the U.K. Balham is an awesome neighborhood. So many chic shops but they were all closed for a Sunday evening. Took Northern Line to get here and it's a short 3 minute walk from the station. Ordered the chicken tagine, mixed mezza for two so everyone had something to try, I think it's an easy solution if you are not an expert in Moroccan food. Then finally tagine lamb. It's named after tagine, why stray from it? It's a BYOB. So bring your own wine. Please. The dessert was on the simple side but they provided Moroccan tea for the table on the house, lovely and tastier than the Lebanese version. I liked it more. The restaurant played hipster dance music from Morocco and I must admit, it was quite happening. I wish I took down the record name, I'm sure I'd be able to find it on Soundcloud later. The most notable thing about the restaurant besides the very good food was the decor. The mixture of beautiful lighting hanging off the ceiling was mesmerizing. I took as many photos of the lighting as the food. Over the course of last 18 years since I've been coming to London, finding good Moroccan restaurants has always been one of my must to-dos. This did not disappoint. The entire restaurant had a very authentic ethnic feel to it, which in my mind is something I've not seen before in the States. It's certainly not touristy like the West End, so it was easier to enjoy the meal. When in London, find unusual things to eat. Don't go for fish n chips, try Moroccan. Guaranteed to be far more superior here than San Francisco. Sorry Aziza SF.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely and relaxed and the decor matched the theme of the restaurant beautifully. The ceilings are covered in gorgeous colourful chandeliers that you would find walking through a market in Morocco, if fact sitting in the restaurant I kind of felt that I was back in Morocco! We ordered houmous and bread for starters which was lovely and for main I had lamb tagine with cous cous (I can't remember the name). My friend had the fish tagine and both dishes were served beautifully. The portion sizes were really generous too! The only down side is that they don't serve alcohol, so I would pop to the local off licence or Sainsbury's and grab a bottle of wine before going there. Also whilst we were there, it was the birthday of some other group, and the waiters put on some traditional music and played a drum whilst bringing out the birthday cake! I really enjoyed my visit to this restaurant and already have plans to take my parents!

Walking into a dark but very inviting Mediterranean hot spot not really knowing what to expect I was greeted by nothing but love by the owner who is also the front of the house host, waiter and historian on the food. The dishes presented themselves. He used authentic Moroccan crockery to prepare a present some of the most flavorful food I've ever experienced in the city of London. As I always say, I'll set your expectations for what you want as you come in to any place I write about. It's a small intimate dinning experience where you should bring friends and loved ones. The decor will take you to a different place, away from the hustle and bustle of London, to a foreign land that has exotic foods prepared with love and the ultimate patron experience in mind. I had Moroccan wine for the first time and wont be he last. It was absolutely fabulous, I wasn't sure what to expect but I have to put Spain on notice. I highly recommend the MD Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot which had a very nice overtones of earth and pepper. You have to check it out if you find yourself in London and looking for a new expirence.

The waitresses wore all black, which went with the interior design of the place. Outside of the building, you will see people blowing hookah smoke like wizards from The Lord of the Rings. In front of the woman's bathroom, there is a silhouette of a belly dancer with long flowing hair. In front of the men's room, there is a drawing of a man wearing a thobe, a ghutra, an egal, and he is holding one of those long curved canes from the biblical era. The chicken kafta was delicious and they gave me just the right amount of food. They put tasty green powdery stuff in my tomato slices. It was also my first time drinking moroccan tea, which I should say was really good after eating mint leaves. They told me not to tip them, which is something that I am not used to, because I am from the U.S., but it's common in England and Spain. The waiters are nice people. I accidentally knocked over an empty beer bottle with my umbrella, and nobody got upset. A waiter just offered to take my giant UK flag umbrella, and save it up front for me to pick it up later. I was really anxious, I apologized twice, and then my waitress said, it's okay, with a smile, and then another waitress cleaned it up. Thank you Mamounia for being a great part of my vacation!

Upon arrival, we waited for over 10 minutes in the lobby, without any welcome drink. Once we were eventually taken to our seats, I was surprised to find out straight away that the staff was on hedge and very unfriendly. Although it was a busy evening, the (high) price paid simply did not match the level of service received. The room was extremely loud, and there was too much proximity between tables to enable any intimacy. After receiving our starter, we waited for over an hour, and, despite my several questions to the waiters, we never got our main meal. We eventually left, hungry, and frustrated. At that time, most restaurants were closed which put me in a very uncomfortable situation with my girlfriend. Finally, the fact that dinner was paid ahead of the event really creates a sentiment of being robbed.
