Beau is the best contractor we have ever worked with, bar none.  His attention to detail and his…read moreeye for design are both impeccable, and there is nothing we wouldn't trust him with.  He communicated clearly, kept us incredibly well-informed about the scope and timing of the project, and did everything he said he would, completing the project pretty much exactly when he expected to be finished, and on budget.  He gave us great advice throughout the process - including recommending when to order certain items, an impressive feat given the current global supply chain issues - in a way that was completely respectful and never pushy.  Our kitchen is now our favorite room in the house. A bit of background on our project: Beau dragged our kitchen from the 70s - no range vent, Formica countertops that buckled with the slightest pressure, cupboard doors that didn't fully close, to name a few issues - into the modern era.  This was a complete demolition, down to the studs, and rebuild.  Along the way, he removed an old chimney that ran from our basement, through the first floor, and into the attic; upgraded our hot water heater, and most of our old, galvanized plumbing; updated our electrical panel and removed a lot of knob-and-tube wiring; and widened our back door.  He had a clear understanding of what he could and could not do, and, for the latter, he had subcontractors lined up and ready to do the work.  Beau, his crew, and the subcontractors I interacted with, were all extremely pleasant, polite, helpful, and fun.  They were very nice to (and tolerant of) our pets, and did everything they could to make the process as unintrusive as possible.  They went above and beyond in so many ways, it's impossible to remember them all.  At the end of the project, the work was done as expected, was top-notch, and as much as we were glad to have the kitchen back, it was sad to see them go.

My original review is below: We hired Unique Northwest Building for carpentry and drywall work to upgrade the interior design of our home. We installed some wooden slats and installed a new door. It's very rare to find contractors who go above and beyond and Daniel from Unique Northwest was one. We are extremely pleased with Daniel's work (refer to photos). While the photos speak for themselves, for those interested in learning more about our experience, read further. From the get-go, we were very pleased with Daniel's responsiveness. Due to Covid and some logistical issues on our end, our request was conducted via phones and photos. Daniel was prompt, communicative and addressed our concerns. We were concerned about project scope as we couldn't conduct an in home visit (again, due to an issue on our side), however, Daniel had scoped it correctly and there were no last minute bait and switches in pricing, which we appreciate a lot. During the job, Daniel went to great pains to understand the details of our requirements and did a walk through the house to made sure he had got it all right. On the job, he was quick on his feet, yet thorough and precise in his woodwork. When necessary, he went by himself to procure the wood and other materials we needed and ensured he had it all right. If there were any issues he found while doing the woodwork, he would let us know immediately to confirm his proposal, and we mostly deferred to his expertise - which he had in plenty. In three days, he transformed our house from a mediocre place to a gorgeous layout. We had some other minor issues that needed fixing in the house (fixing some plumbing), which Daniel took care quickly as well. He had to come for an extra half day to finish some paint work as it needed time to dry, which he did meticulously again. We are extremely pleased with our result, and all of our friends have loved the new design. I would 100% recommend Unique Northwest Building and Daniel for any of my contracting work and would definitely hire him again. Thank you again Daniel was doing a fantastic job!

I had a specific budget and design (marble white themed) in mind and Daniel was able to meet all these and exceeded our expectations. I'm giving Rescon one star because they did not finish the work they were contracted to do and they…read moreripped me off. I had Rescon at my house to fix a leak issue around a window. Their fixed bid included removing the window trim and the siding around the window to fix the leak, and to replace the window trim and siding with new materials. They removed the window trim only and then told me that the issue was with the window flashing. So they reflashed the window and replaced the window trim. They did not remove or replace any of the siding. Even though they were only at my house for 3 hours (and that included a trip to the lumber yard for supplies) I foolishly paid them $750 for this work. A few days later after a heavy rain the window leaked again. I called them and asked them to come back. I continued to call and leave messages every 4 or 5 days and finally got someone to answer my call. They said they would come out in a week. Another few weeks went by and they still had not come out. I continued to call and email. Finally when I got in contact with them they said that the $750 was for that work only and they would not credit any of that amount to continue to search for the leak, even though their original bid was going to include siding removal and replacement. They were not willing to do the remainder of the work that I had paid for on the original bid. Here's my breakdown of what it cost me: $100 materials (my estimate) 2 people's labor at $108/hour for 3 hours -------- $750 It does not take two people to replace 4 pieces of wood around a window. Nor do contractors in the Seattle area get paid $108/hour
