We had two bathrooms done by Riccon. First off I should say the bathrooms came out beautifully. We did most of the design work ourselves, picked out pretty much everything and in the. case of the tile and vanity we ordered it and paid ourselves. Their estimate was way off, our house is older and there were a lot of things uncovered that made the estimates off by tens of thousands. We also used more expensive tiles to install, so some of those increases were on us. My real complaint was about communication and prices. On multiple things (plumbing and floor refinishing) we ended up finding our own contractor to do the job because the bids Riccon was getting were way too high. We also had to push to get additional electrical bids because the original electricians came in at a way higher price than originally planned for. There were days that people were supposed to show up and they didn't. Then days we weren't expecting people they would show up, which worked out okay since we were usually working from home given the pandemic but it was still frustrating. All in all I found Jeff to be a reasonable guy and again,. the bathrooms turned out well. I do think we paid a reasonable price for what we ended up with. I would use them again. read more

No stars if possible. I had Sam Burton come out and get measurements. He said he was going to get back to me with the cost in a couple of days. Three days later, I had to email him to check the status and he made an excuse that he has been backed up at the office. He said he will get it to me the next day and still nothing. It has been a month later. He obviously is not reliable and I'm glad I didn't have him do any work because there would probably be constant delays. Be aware of this company. Initially, I was going to give this company a D. I consider a C to be average and my experience was less than desirable. The job that I contracted them to do is finally complete which is why they did not receive an F. The owner was made aware of my concerns and responded adequately which is the reason for me bumping this up to a C. I contracted with this company for a master bathroom remodel due to water leaking out of my shower causing damage to the bathroom floor. I did get two other quotes before deciding to go with this company. They were not the cheapest but we initially felt best with the gentleman who initially came to our home as well as the quote we were given. The contractors that were sent gave the impression of being a second rate crew. Full days were not put in until I got upset with them after a week and mentioned this to them. They arrived between 8:30 and 9am most days. I was told they would work until 5 or 6 each evening and they left many times before 3:30. When I questioned timeframes because work wasn't getting done, they started to hurry their work which caused it to be sloppy. Tile work had to be torn down and redone. A job that was supposed to take a "few weeks" turned into over a month without a working shower. Demolition was started on Monday November 28th and we were finally able to use the shower on Wednesday December 28th (this includes them working Saturdays). When the concern about timeframes was brought up to the project manager, I were told change orders caused delays. There was a change order that was done for the damage to the floor from the water (which turned out to be very minimal) that was accounted for in the initial bid. So this shouldn't have taken any additional time because it would have been accounted for there. Another change order was added to get a plumber here but other work was being done during that time. There were three other change orders which were for material. I was constantly told timeframes of when work would get done that were not met. The project manager told me they were "sorry for my frustration" twice when I mentioned these. There was an instance were numerous concerns were brought up before the Christmas holiday and rather than addressing them, the project manager sent a rather condescending email. None of the concerns were addressed and I was told that "if you can not see a imperfection from 5' there is no imperfection". The contractor even didn't put a bottom sweep on the shower door (that came with the door) and left it so it didn't close properly over the holiday. The contractor never mentioned this sweep was missing until I asked him about it the next week. It was then told to me that piece was missing from the box. There was also an issue with the sub-contractors state license. After it was brought to their attention, it was rectified quickly. Unfortunately, my job seemed to stretch out too long and I had to manage too much of it. In my opinion, this is the job of the general contractor, not the homeowner. I did not manage it by choice. I strongly feel though if I had not stepped in, I may still be without a functioning master bathroom. Once the job was completed, I brought my experience to the attention of the owner (all my contact had been with the project manager). The owner immediately contacted me and offered the most heartfelt apology that I had received to date. In speaking with the owner of the company, I was thanked for bringing all these concerns to their attention as they would use it as a teaching moment for their crews. I felt that the owner was truly sorry for my experience and will use it to make the company better. read more

Horrible experience! Zero communication, took forever, and ugly work. Our project took 6 months when we were told 6 weeks. Brenda kept making excuses on what was taking so long, yet when the guys were "working" they were really just messing around. I do not know where to start this review so I'll start at the beginning. We were looking for a contractor to installed new custome made cabinets and were given two recommendations. I e-mailed the drawings to both contractors and heard back from only one of them, Jon Faulconer of Riccon Construction. A few days later we met to discuss the scope of the work which included removal/disposal of old cabinets without damaging existing tile back splashes, counter tops, re-finishing a parquet oak floor, installing new cabinets and re-installation of sink, garbage disposal, dishwasher, and a new over the range micowave/vent fan combination and other work. After our meeting Jon promptly returned an e-mail with the proposed cost and schedule which were very reasonable. The work was to start a day or two before the cabinets were to be delivered. As it worked out work started on Monday EXACTLY AT THE TIME JON SAID IT WOULD. Demolition went beautifully with no tile damage. On Tuesday 10 minutes after they were to arrive, Jon called to say the floor re-finishing crew was caught in a traffic jam and would be delayed about an hour. THEY ARRIVED IN LESS THAN AN HOUR. The floor crew did a beautiful job with a MINIMUM of DUST. The cabinet installers arrived on Thursday exactly on time (8:00 AM), installed floor protection and worked until 10:30 PM making sure the cabinets were plum, square and firmly installed. Jon's crew returned at the hour promised on Friday to re-install the range and refrigerator and install the new microwave/vent an combination. 90% of the work was complete just waiting for the new counter tops about 2 weeks later. I told Jon when the counter tops would be installed and hel let me know that his crew would arrive the next morning to finish re-installing the dishwasher, sink and garbage disposal. Their work was just completed. I am totally impressed with Jon, Riccon and his crews. ALL of Riccon's crews were professional and ensured that the work was properly done and were not willing to accept "that's good enough". This is a long review but their work deserves to be recognized. I would have no hesitations recommending Jon and Riccon. read more

I had heard of Riccon through a couple of friends. My water heater went out on me at my condo and I needed fast help. I called Riccon and I had two of their employees in my condo within an hour. They replaced the water heater within hours and I was back up and running. Due to the water heater failing on me, I suffered some water damage. Riccon left behind large dryers to help dry the damage and then I brought them in to replace the carpet. All of this within a couple of days. Would I recommend? Everyday of the week! read more

Jeff Richter with Riccon Construction just completed a whole house renovation for us and we couldn't be happier. The house needed to be taken down to the studs for all new electrical and plumbing. They completely rebuilt the interior including removing/moving some walls, with a new kitchen, master bath and guest bath. They built a new two car garage from the foundation up, installed a metal roof and new windows on the main floor. The quality of Riccon's work is outstanding. The entire crew was professional and personable. We asked for several change orders throughout the process and both Jeff and his partner Jon were accommodating and helpful with design and suggestions. When unforeseen problems arose, they were quick to communicate with us what our options were. We were living out of state for the first half of the construction process and were provided updates and photos as the remodel progressed. Riccon answers phone calls, emails and texts in a timely manner which was very important to us throughout the seven months of renovation. Off to a great start. I have known Jeff and Heidi for 20+ years and knew I could trust them to come to the rescue me when we found that our 2nd story tub was leaking into the garage below. First, I called my Insurance company and filed a claim. Next I facebook-messaged Heidi. She called me quickly and had a guy at my house inside of an hour on a Sunday Morning. Seriously - the guy (Shawn) showed up inside an hour, on a SUNDAY, started assessing the situation and then he started installing industrial strength fans to begin drying out the floor / ceiling. Shawn returned the next day to check progress and to take a sample of the drywall by the tub for testing. He said we should let the fans run for the next two days and his crew would be back on Thursday to begin demo of the tub and whatever else needs to be done. Jeff just called me to confirm the time tomorrow and we had a chance to discuss working with the insurance company, another service that I am grateful Riccon will help me manage. I am looking forward to amending this review when my master bathroom is back in business. For now, I am extremely pleased with the level of professionalism, complete understanding of the timing, financial and other considerations required for this type of project. We hired Riccon Construction to rebuild our Trex deck. Our original Trex flaked and buckled so we had to replace it. Jon Faulconer came out, took measurements and discussed the project. While one company wanted to charge us $250.00 prior to telling us how many Trex "boards" we would need to order, Jon gave us an estimate at the time of his visit at no charge. Riccon's bid also came in $12,000 (I am not kidding - at first we were skeptical) less than another recommended construction company. Riccon not only arrived each of the three days right on time, but they called us just prior to arrival to let us know they were on their way. They were professional, friendly, answered any questions we had during the rebuild and they worked steadily. We would hire them again in a heartbeat. Our finished deck is beautiful. We had our kitchen remodel completed by Riccon Construction in 2016. I will say that the entire job was a circus. Our electrician was injured on his day off, so he was telling the plumber how to do his work. Our contractor who was leading the job, Jon, incorrectly wired our kitchen island which was a HUGE fire hazard. My husband was up until 1am fixing his mistake because our countertops were being installed the next day. The team was generally careless as well. We had so many scratched cabinets and appliances all because people weren't being careful. I will say our kitchen was completed on time as promised, and it's beautiful. We had hoped to use this company for our master bathroom remodel, but after the heartache of our kitchen remodel there was no way we would call them again. read more

I have never felt compelled to leave a review for a company, until now. When I hire a company, my expectation is they will provide and execute smoothly and without issue. Getting what you pay for or better hasn't provoked me to provide a review- it is my expectation. Remodel is never easy, in any stage. We took our 1929 beautifully detailed yet small home and created a large addition which not only updates the house into this century but preserved all the character of the early 1900's. As a very type A personality, I am able to coordinate, allocate finances where needed and move things forward. However, picking out colors, trims, and all the finishing touches that make or break the overall effort is not easy for me. Riccon not only took the time to help in the planning, scheduling and details- they were always willing to go that extra mile, no matter what that meant. Some days it was them pointing out what is coming so I could make arrangements in time to keep schedule going. Other times it was their team providing guidance and help on cabinets, finishes, tile, paint and more. Riccon was onsite every day they said they would be and planned ahead showing schedule so I knew the days they weren't. Their team is not only skilled but clean. I was able to change my mind - many times- and was never made to feel like a hassle. I appreciate having had my expectations set and reset accurately- all while in the process of exceeding them. I own the first floor unit in a condominium complex and the 3rd floor condo had a severe leak that devestated all 3 floors. The Riccon Construction crew of Jeff, Brenda and the rest of the team had to demo my entire home and remodel it from scratch. They not only put me back together, they made suggestions for improvements that have vastly improved the livability of my home. The other condos in the complex that were equally affected by the flood used different contractors and were not nearly as happy as I was.
