When I asked if they thought the previous leaks in my basement were due to any type of mortar failure on the outside (I already had the bottom of the mortar fixed by ANT Masonry for a minimal cost), they said no--it's probably because you have some failure inside the flue for the furnace and that dampness is coming into the basement. Interesting. I've actually had no dampness in basement since the bottom of the mortar was repaired and the lower brick was tuckpointed. So, on to the chimney liner.....

He got up on the roof to do the initial visual inspection, and determined what would be needed. He was very thorough in his explanation and what the estimated cost would be. Once we decided to move forward with JL Contractor Services he sent the agreement, and was able to schedule his crew for a week later - during winter! He was able to look ahead and find a day where the weather allowed for the work to be done. His workers were there on time, courteous and did a very thorough job on both the front and the back - the work was completed in a day as stated. I wasn't expecting it to take as long as it did, but they were working on other jobs at the same time. It wasn't a super big issue for us, but some communication about the timeline could have helped. The company took care of the permit process for us. They seem skilled in their work. I'm happy our patio turned out the way we wanted it to.
