Update: After my initial experience, I filed a complaint with customer service but received no response. I then escalated it to the company executives, after which they finally addressed my concerns. They provided a full refund and issued an apology. I appreciate their effort to resolve the issue, and I hope they improve their customer service moving forward. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Original review: Beatrice at this store is the rudest salesperson I have ever encountered. She was pleasant before I placed my order, but afterward, she became very rude and unprofessional. I specifically requested the thinnest lenses because I cannot wear thick, heavy eyeglasses. However, despite paying over $2,000, the 1.74 index lenses she provided were significantly thicker and more than twice as heavy as my old 1.67 index lenses. When I visited this store to pick up my eyeglasses, I was carrying a Hermès Birkin bag and placed it on a table. Without my permission, Beatrice suddenly touched my bag and moved it to another table. She then asked me if my bag was "a real Hermès." I was shocked and offended by this inappropriate question and asked, "What do you mean? Why would I buy a fake Hermès?" She responded that because my bag was lighter than another client's Birkin bag, implying that mine might be counterfeit. As a loyal Hermès customer who spent over $14,000 on this handbag, I find Beatrice's behavior very inappropriate and disrespectful. A salesperson should never make unsolicited judgments about a customer's belongings, especially in a high-end retail setting where professionalism and customer experience should be a priority. Beyond this incident, I also experienced poor service when following up on my eyeglasses order. I called Beatrice twice--once to request a receipt and once to check if my eyeglasses were ready for pickup. Both times, Beatrice said she was very busy with in-store clients, promised to get back to me soon, and quickly hung up. However, she never called me back, even after several hours, so I had to visit the store in person to speak with her. When I asked why she hadn't followed up, she simply said, "I'm busy with clients in the store." This is far from the concierge-level service Morgenthal Frederics promotes. I can only hope that Beatrice is not too busy in the store judging whether other clients' handbags are real or fake. read more

I am a long-standing client at this particular location, not only for the gorgeous glasses, but also for the outstanding service. That said, at my most recent series of visits changing my prescription for multiple pairs of glasses after cataract surgery, the customer service I received from Beatrice was truly OVER THE TOP! For the first time, I had a problem with my new prescription. I went back to the original doctor and a new ophthalmologist and spent quite a bit of time with fuzzy vision. Beatrice was amazing helping me through the process of finding the right solution which ended up being the prescription recommended by an optician she sent me to AT NO CHARGE. She graciously changed the prescription in my glasses also at no charge. I totally trust Beatrice and am grateful for her support. So...now, not only do I have fabulous horn glasses, but I can see out of them! read more

My all time favorite purchase from this location was a stunning rendition of something that Audrey Hepburn would have adored -- lovely and perfectly shaped for my face. Unfortunately for me and fortunately for someone else I made a donation in Vegas by the side of the pool. I am a regular customer of this particular location because of the excellent quality of service I receive from the manager, Beatrice Talavera and her team. Beatrice is a very patient and considerate manager. I took a long time to warm up to the Maybach frames. I broke my favorite pair of Maybach's in the Hamptons in June 2019, and called Beatrice that morning; she found me the last pair in the company and grabbed it for me as a replacement. Now, I buy each new one that comes in before someone else does. The same applied to the Retrospecs, that Beatrice recommended. It took me a long time to listen to her, but when i finally did, i made her find every Retrospecs frame out there. On her day off, she went around to the other stores and picked up the inventory she didn't have in her store. it is not just the frames, but the color and quality of the lenses. Beatrice personally chooses my sunglasses colors, including the mirrored lenses. Since i don't know what I don't know about lens varieties, I leave it to her. The result is that I get stopped on the street or in restaurants and asked where i obtained those lenses. I trust Beatrice. When I don't look good in a particular frame, she discourages me very diplomatically, which makes me smile. I guess I visit the store frequently because of how they make me feel at 944 Madison. The problem is I keep walking out with a new frame each time I visit. read more

I went into this location with a pair of broken Morgenthal Frederics sunglasses. I explained that my young son broke them and learned that they were outside the warranty period. The woman was very nice and said that I could purchase a replacement part and that they would be ready in a few days. When I went to pick them up I learned that they were not able to repair the frames as they had promised, so they gave me a new pair of identical glasses. It was above and beyond what I would expect as a consumer and I am still pretty amazed by this customer service. It's nice to see a brand that cares so much about its customers!
