Everything was exceptional, from the drinks and ambiance to the salads, entrées, and desserts. The kale salad was fresh and delicious, the Pasta alla Vodka was outstanding, and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed the Chicken Parmesan (I completely forgot to take a picture because she was so excited to dig in!). The hazelnut pie was the perfect way to end the meal and cobbler pie A special shout-out to Rory, who took such great care of us. I was hoping for a Dubai Chocolate Espresso Martini, which wasn't on the menu, and she went above and beyond by checking with the bartender and putting in a special request for me. That thoughtful gesture made my evening extra special and truly reflected the outstanding hospitality. We left happy, full, and already looking forward to coming back to explore more of the menu. Highly recommend and more sensible way was giving the salads separately in two plates. We mentioned we would be sharing the salad and pasta Ella vodka which was the first time I have ever seen in a restaurant, most restaurants would give a big one and we need to portion it out. Amazing experience.

Bricco Bricco is…read moreclearly one of the more popular spots in town, and it's easy to see why -- but our visit was a mix of highs and lows. We started with the shrimp alla vodka pasta, which was genuinely good and a dish I'd order again. We also shared an apple arugula salad that was fresh and well balanced, along with a side of fries that were just okay -- nothing special, but they did the job. The evening didn't start off smoothly, though. The restaurant was busy, and the wait to be seated took a while. Once we were seated, the service was okay at best -- attentive enough to get our order right, but not particularly warm or fast. That became more of an issue when our prosecco arrived flat. We had to work to get our waiter's attention to have it replaced, and it took much longer than it should have for someone to notice and follow up. We also tried a lavender vodka drink, which ended up being a bit of a letdown. It was expensive for what amounted to a small pour, and honestly the best part of it was the fancy glass it came in -- the drink itself didn't quite justify the price. Overall, the food carried the night. The pasta and salad were highlights, and I'd come back for those alone. But the service hiccups and pricey, underwhelming cocktails took some shine off the experience. If you go, stick to the pasta and maybe skip the specialty drinks.

This is my next post-bowling hangout place! I have a rare chance to grab a drink and some food on…read morethe way home tonight from bowling. The restaurant is located on 389 Main St. in East Hartford. Their kitchen is built fresh, from scratch, and all homemade. Their appetizers, pasta, entrees and desserts combine old-world traditional Italian flavor with a modern flair for presentation, and the freshest ingredients around. Menu staples like calamari, chicken milanese, fettucine carbonara and ravioli are paired with unique recipes like pappardelle with sausage and tenderloin steaks. They have staffed our kitchen with a dream team of local chefs that ensure our quality does not waiver and our kitchen is always OPEN! You just can't go wrong. For my drink, I'm having the Jack Berry Smash made with Jack Daniel's Blackberry, REAL raspberry puree, lemon juice, simple syrup, muddied mint and lemon. What a unique taste! I love this drink! For my appetizer, I'm having the Meatball Side. These are the chef's meatballs with mozzarella (light for me). I want it as spicy as possible. Oh yeah! This is fantastic! It's spicy, warm and yummy! The addition of hot pepper flakes (yes, I remove the cap first) really helps! They have open mike here tonight! This place is famous for live music! These guys are good! I could stay here all night! For my next item, I'm having a Side Caesar Salad. A classic Caesar salad is a crisp green salad made with romaine lettuce, croutons, and Parmesan cheese. It is tossed in a rich, savory dressing of olive oil, lemon juice, egg, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and anchovies. Caesar Cardini invented the dish in Tijuana, Mexico, in 1924. This is absolutely delicious! This a big portion size too! I love their Caesar dressing! It's well tossed with lots of croutons. Always add pepper to this. I even get a new fork! That's very thoughtful! For my next drink, I am having the Grapefruit Fizz made with Tangueray gin, Elderflower Liqueur, grapefruit juice and soda water. Oh yeah! This is good! Considering it is served in a 16oz glass, I can taste the alcohol! The bartender got that right! The bartender is real awesome! He certainly knows how to make a drink let me tell you that! He smiles, is very talkative and enjoys his job. You can't ask for better! For my entree, I'm having the Sausage Pappardelle which is homemade sausage (less for me) in a bechamel sauce with broccoli rabe (a favorite of mine - more for me), crushed red pepper (load it up baby!) over fresh papardelle. Béchamel sauce is a classic French white sauce made by cooking equal parts butter and flour into a roux, then whisking in warm or cold milk until smooth. Seasoned with salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg, it serves as a foundation for lasagna, mac and cheese, and gratins. Pappardelle is a large, very broad, flat ribbon pasta originating from the Tuscany region of Italy, measuring about 2 to 3 centimeters (3/4 to 1 inch) wide. Carmines tries to accommodate everyone! For me? EXTRA EXTRA spicy! Let's see how this goes. This is a BIG dish! I mean big! It's piping hot (temperature) too! It's very tasty! It's not really super "hot" (as in spicy), but they can only work with they have! Still, I can taste the heat! What a great job! It's a great dish and worth every dime! What a great meal here! For my final drink, I'm having a Negroni. A Negroni is an Italian cocktail, made of equal parts gin, vermouth rosso (red, semi-sweet), and Campari, generally served with ice, and commonly garnished with an orange slice or orange peel. It is considered an apéritif. Let's see how they do! The taste is perfect! The orange slice is fine (no peeler here): normally it's an orange peel. The straw is odd (usually it's a stirrer). However, the taste of this drink is absolutely perfect! I cannot ask for more! Great job here! What a fantastic experience!

I was interested in the penne, Rosa due to having vegetables in it. It has a "spicy sauce ". I asked the lovely worker at the register. How spicy is it? she couldn't answer and then asked if I would like to taste the sauce? I answered yes and think it. She walked away for a little while unknown to me what she was doing. She returned with her small plate of the sauce, mixed in with penne. She did that I wouldn't taste so good the sauces without the pasta. Wow.! She went in the back and just cooked up the small tasting portion so I can taste the sauce. It was delicious. However, would be too spicy for me the whole bowl of it. She stated that they can mix part marinara sauce, to tone it down. Overall it was delicious. Still a little too spicy for me but I'm glad I ordered it. I consider myself a sauce snob. I do not order things unless I know that the sauce is good. I'm pretty amazed that a quick service restaurant sauce was really good. You go to the register and place your order. The inside was entirely empty, a few people stopped by to pick up their orders, but no one was dining inside. On the wall they have awards they've received from 2011 to 2025, all for being in the top 10 restaurants. It was a bit awkward being the only ones here, but there are bigger issues in the world. Their menu offers pizzas, pasta, gyros, salads and more. We first got an order of their sautéed calamari. This had a nice tender and chewy texture. This is unlike what most places offer. The sauce was also very flavorful, we actually ate it by the spoonful like a soup. Their garlic bread was great for dipping into the sauce. Not a very garlicky garlic bread but not bad. We all got some variation of the gyro, with salad, fries or rice. Mine was with the Greek Salad. This Greek Salad was very fresh and the feta cheese on it sealed it all together. Unfortunately the lamb in the gyro was very overcooked and dry. It wasn't good at all. The tzatziki sauce is always a favorite. Overall I wasn't super impressed with my meal. I might stop by sometime in the future and try something else.

Fried mozz... the flavor of the cheese was good but the pieces were over fried so it was kinda hard and tasted somewhat burnt 2. Risotto balls... those were great, just needed a lil more sauce. I would definitely order this again. 3. Spicy Calamari... There was an unpleasant odor as soon as they came out. Tasted the actual Calamari and it was delicious but the dish was ruined with all the crap that was added. The yucky slaw and the sauce/ drizzle were unnecessary and made the dish inedible. Wish they left it off or put it in the side so we could have enjoyed the Calamari itself. 4. Sweet Potato Ravioli... the actual ravioli was good. Loved the filling. But this dish was ruined by a flavorless sauce. It tasted like cream mixed with butter. That sauce should be left off. Im sure the server already knew we didnt really enjoy it bcuz he didnt even question why food was left and we didnt want to take any of it to go... Really planned to order more from the happy hour menu but after those last 2 disappointing apps, I changed my mind...
