I had a very disappointing experience with California Transmission. I came in looking to swap Chevy Astro transmission and the high selling point with California transmission would be completed in a one day turnaround. However, unfortunately, I found myself having to call the shop multiple times for an update, and we're constantly hesitant to update me. In the end up having to wait three days to get my vehicle To make matters worse, they failed to properly reconnect my oil dipstick to the engine block, which is a basic but critical oversight. I know that mistakes are common, however, granted to the fact that Israel emphasize how professional they are 25 years of experience, I am surprised something like that went unnoticed so I went ahead and give them a call today and after the vulgar conversation, he gave me I decided that I ultimately had a write a review. Even more concerning, video footage posted online appears to show employees bending and obscuring the vehicle's license plate before the driver left--preventing it from being clearly captured on video, and then declining to provide information to the officers who responded. Based on what has been reported and shown in the available footage, I am cautious about trusting my vehicle--or my safety--to a business where employees behave this way.

I was greeted by Ray who was very professional and patiently listened to all of my concerns. He suggested I leave my SUV and they would check it out thoroughly. What followed is what I believe makes this place an excellent choice. When we next spoke, not only was I shown what the problems were, (main issue was the exhaust manifold with a long crack (no wonder the fumes)) but I was provided with options without any pressure or fast-talk. As the work progressed, I would receive texted explanations of the work being done, and pictures of parts removed and parts installed. I really appreciated that. They are very knowledgeable and did an excellent job, going beyond what I expected in terms of quality and efficiency. When I picked up my car, all the work done was reviewed with me, there were no surprises nor confusion. All upfront and honest work.
