He also regraded our backyard as we were having standing water build by our back door. Marcus is super easy to work with and his crew was super friendly and hardworking. I'd also choose to pay more if his bid is higher (as it was slightly higher for us) because I'm fully confident that he did everything the right way and didn't cut corners. I'm so so pleased with his work that I'd highly recommend him to anyone who asked me if I had a guy for retaining walls.

But they literally kept it exceptionally clean while grinding off the "polyasporic garbage" & cleaned again at the end of the day. They were steady working all day to complete a certain task and kept us fully informed of what was done and plans for the following day. They found issues we were not aware of and repaired them at no cost. All the folks that worked on our project were exceptionally nice, friendly, and spoke fluently. Their costs were very competitive and the solution speaks for itself. We still have a couple of driveways that we will do in the future and will only be using Surface 2 Surface DFW.

We set up an install date, but an earlier date popped up and I jumped on it. I cleared the area to be be worked on that morning, and they crew arrived as expected. The project was completed in two days. Silver, Luis, Jeff and Spencer were a great crew. No dilly dallying, and they put protective covers down to protect the front yard and the pavers in the back yard. They wore clearly marked uniforms, and they cleaned up after each day. They were very respectful and mindful during the project. Silver and Luis advised me of what they were doing, and of their next steps. I facilitated their work as much as possible, without getting in their way. Their attention to detail was very impressive, and I was extremely satisfied with the outcome. Keith was was very responsive and I look forward to working with him in future projects and providing referrals.

We had another local fence company come out and give us a quote on a wood fence we wanted. The price was reasonable, they had good reviews, and the pictures we saw of their work looked good. I had some follow up questions after they delivered the quote and I never heard back from them. A week later we call Magnolia and they had someone come and talk to us the next day. We received the quote a day later and at that time I also looked at their Facebook or maybe their website and saw a fence they built that we really liked. I email them and i get a response within the same day. We of course still have a lot of questions so Robert, the owner, comes out to the house to talk to us. He genuinely seems excited to be putting up the fence we want. He was able to fit us in during the busy holiday season and the fence was up about a week later. His guys were great also. Nice, friendly, professional. They kept us informed, if there was a decision to make they kept us in the loop. We love the way it all turned out. Also, the quote they originally gave us for the wood fence was lower than the other fence company. As much as we wanted to save money on the wood fence we just couldn't pass up the iron fence that we saw. The photos don't do it justice.

JCL was a perfectly acceptable company for our retaining wall job. They didn't disappoint. They…read moredidn't exceed expectations. They accomplished the job pretty well as expected. We had a large retaining wall project, front yard and back yard. The back yard was fairly tall, encompassing a garden, and incorporating stairs. They were using milsap stone. This was during the "great contractor shortage" of 2021 and they warned us that it'd be 10-12 weeks delay, and it was. They were completely noncommunicative during that time, even nonresponsive, but when it came out turn they reached out, scheduled, and got the large project done in 5 days. They did a pretty good job with demolition and construction. In part of the job they were working around vegetation, which they did a pretty good job of not destroying. They were happy to leave the old stones for me for future projects and more or less stacked them in good spots. They did have to displace some irrigation, and they appear to have done a pretty good job of rebuilding that. They did, however, forget to attach nozzles onto the new sprinkler risers. I contacted them and they didn't seem to know what I was talking about so I just bought some (cheap) and replaced them myself, then re-angled and adjusted the heads myself. The wall appears to be well-built and solid. There's a couple of places that I'm mildly concerned about because they built a fairly small line around the garden, but it's anchored into a footer and they promised it'd be strong. They do have a 5-year warranty if stones fall. Mortar between stones is already cracking in places, as expected, but nothing appears to be shifting. In one spot they were meeting up with an existing paverstone wall that they weren't touching, and they displaced a few stones and left them for me to divide and reattach myself. The workers were competent and did nice work. There was usually an English-speaking worker on site, and the foreman came around regularly. They were responsive to questions and changes I had and got them done rapidly. We paid half up front (11 weeks in advance) and half in the week after completion. No problems, no hassles, exactly as quoted.
