These people robbed my son who had a flat on the side of the road. Driver hooked up the car, told my son it would be $200 to tow it, then demanded another $100 to take it off, threatening to tow it somewhere else unless he paid more. he took it off and drove off, with the cash. I called the number and was told twice it was not Moores towing. the driver then called me back, accused my son of doing drugs and that he would send me video and audio of--- something? He screamed at me on the phone, hung up on me, then texted me several times arguing with me, without sending anything or returning money. Complete lunatic. Thieves. Made police report. read more

I called Moore's on New Years eve when my vehicle quit in rush hour traffic on the beltline. Being from out of town they looked to be the closest and their add said they provided service work. Their diagnosis of my problem, over the phone, was one they could not fix but were willing to tow me anywhere in the city tonight or my hometown tomorrow. I brought in my car for what seemed like a routine issue with my alternator. Turns out that's not the case and Moore's went through a ton of effort to figure out what it actually was. When they realized they had no idea, they didn't charge me for all the "wasted" hours and suggested I find a dealership to go to because they didn't feel comfortable poking around any deeper, just in case. I just moved to Madison a couple days ago and had a trip planned today for the 4th. As I was filling up my car at the BP down the road, I realized that I had locked myself out of my car. So there I was without any kind of transportation and not knowing a soul in town and along comes Moore's to save the day! The gas station attendants kindly pointed me in the right direction to Moore's and I had the pleasure of meeting a very kind employee who was more than happy to help me out of a bad situation and got me back on the road in less than 10 minutes. The employee (I wish I had asked for his name!) was very kind and I think took pity on me as a newcomer to the area when it came time to pay haha. I hope I won't have need of their services again, but I know if I do they will be the first towing company I call/recommend to friends. read more

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! AAA sent Moore to jump my Prius and when their employee arrived he was rude & tried jumping the vehicle incorrectly. As I was calling the Toyota dealer he ran to his smoke belching truck and the next thing I knew he was backing out of the narrow driving lane leading to my place. He backed out speeding, really fast, creating a very dangerous situation. I called AAA and they then sent "Prairie Land Towing" who started the car within a couple of minutes. PLT was actually gracious and new what they were doing. DO NOT CALL MOORE TOWING IF YOU NEED HELP!!! read more

Unbelievably rude attitude. I can't believe they are still in business. Hours late and no apology or phone call. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

I've had various experiences with them over the years being I work in the neighborhood. All but one started with me walking into the shop, to see a group of guys standing around in a circle chatting. They all turn to look, but no one actually greets you. No one ever attempts to help you until you ask for it. The few things they've done for me have been half assed at best. read more

If it was possible to give no stars I would do so: Very unprofessional! Horrible experience with Mike on more than one occasion. Seems to me like they need to hire more people so that the staff they do have doesn't start yelling at customers by the end of the night. I was told he was on his way and he didn't show for another hour. Got screamed at when he did show up. And I was yelled at over the phone when I called to report him as well - seriously! On another occasion: No respect for time when you are in the shop wondering whether you should stay or go. Disregard for the customer in general and their need for information. From what I can tell these guys are only concerned with making a buck and will cut corners to do so. Starts with the owner and trickles down. Do not let AAA set you up with them - their incentives are misaligned. read more

I've had Moore's towing via AAA roadside assistance a few times. They have been nothing but the BEST. Last summer, their driver changed my car battery in 90+ degree heat. Just now in a snow storm, their driver winched out my truck and plowed me to safety. I've had nothing but the best service from Moore's. We called AAA to have a flat tire changed. The AAA dispatcher assigned the call to Moore's Towing and promised a call back within one hour. After waiting for an hour and a half with no call back, we changed our our tire. When the driver finally showed up, he was very rude and complained that he was overworked. He still wanted to be paid for the call. AAA should drop Moore's and find another towing company. read more

I recently called AAA because my vehicle would not start. They sent Moore's towing to tow my vehicle to my mechanic. They did not take my car to the mechanic right away but "dropped it off at their garage because they had another call in the area". Sometime during the transfer they dropped my car so hard that they broke the rear shocks. They called and said that they damaged the shocks and would replace them. The only problem is that they also broke the crossmember that holds up the transmission. AAA and Moore's said that they were not responsible because there was corrosion on the crossmember. Beware when you call AAA because they may get Moore's and you will end up with a major issue when it started out small and cost you hundred's. read more

I recently had to use Moore's Towing service to move my car to and from an auto body shop. It had broken down on Mineral Point, and they towed my vehicle about a half mile up the road to a service center. There were some miscommunications regarding my location from my insurance company to Moore's, and the driver was very rude to me about this, although it was not my fault at all (and terrible for me as well while I sat in 10 degree weather for 2 hours!). The dispatcher was also awful to me, and screamed at me over the phone. It was discovered that I would have to pay far too much money than I can afford right now, so I had to have Moore's tow the car back to my residence until I can scrape the money together. Unfortunately, the SAME tow truck driver had to deliver the car back to my house. I have NEVER experienced the degree of rudeness that this driver displayed. He complained about "having to keep towing this fuc*ing car around," called me dumb/stupid, questioned how I could ever have gotten into the UW, and told me I should have to pay him more money to deal with "customers like me." He ultimately told me I should never call them again. All the while I was perfectly polite and apologetic for the inconvenient circumstances. Horrible service. Will NEVER give this company my business again, and will encourage everyone I know to not either. read more

Don't bother trying to deal with this place after they damaged your vehicle. They damaged mine towing it and then just laughed on the phone when trying to have a conversation about it and hung up. Always check who AAA is having tow your vehicles or you could end up with these guys laughing at you. read more

I am surprised to see so many negative reviews here. It seems to me that most of the negative reviews pertain to the towing side. I wonder if some of those folks were already in a bad or stressful situation and were able to get upset easily? Anyway, I could not have had a better experience with the repair side. I had an unexpected problem with a boat trailer and stopped in because I saw a boat trailer in the parking lot. Peter (?) who I assumed was the owner was extremely nice, knew exactly what the solution was, and had my job done the next afternoon. Including the replacement of additional parts, the total job cost about the same as what I was quoted for labor alone at another trailer repair shop. It is pretty old school, so don't expect free wifi, a cozy waiting area, or free coffee. But, if you want good honest work at a fair price I would recommend this place. read more

I had an interesting encounter with Moore's Towing, and I wasn't even a customer. I was subjected to a crazy bit of road rage by one of their drivers when I didn't immediately take off at a green light. He laid on the horn, which prompted me to wait at the light until he let up. He did not. He got out of the truck and barked, "Get that f****in' piece of s**t out of the way or I'll...." He apparently thought better about finishing that sentence or getting out of his truck. He drove off, and I promptly took a picture of the license plate. I made two attempts at reporting this to a manager at Moore's. The people who answered my call seemed to know the driver and his behavior. i never did get a call back from "Phil," the manager, The call back, and an acknowledgment that this is an outrageous way to represent his company, never came. It reflects the stupidity of the driver to act as he did with a rolling advertisement of Moore's Towing -- you can't miss who they are. While the driver may be stupid, the management is inept at letting this encounter go unaddressed. Don't use Moore's Towing! read more
