After getting hit by a semi on Hwy 151 near the PB exit in Verona on Sunday, February 9, Disch towed my car a couple miles down the road to their shop (based on the police officer's recommendation). The next day I went to pay for the towing and have a local junk yard come and pick it up. (I sold the totaled car to the junk yard.) "I'm here to pay for my towed car," I said, as I walked into their office. Four guys sitting there with their feet up ignore me for about ten seconds, then look at each other, trying to decide who's going to deal with me. Finally one guy, presumably the owner says, "I hope you have the key." "I do. It's the red Toyota. How much is it?" "$300" Me: $300!? Really?" Him: "Well, it was snowing." Me: "So how much would it have been if it wasn't snowing?" Him (making it up as he goes along): "Well, it'd be $300 no matter what." Me: "Oh, 'cause it seems like you implied it was more expensive because of the weather." Him: "I didn't say that. Besides, if you had called Schmidt's or Road Rescue, they would have charged you $500 or $600." (Yes, competitors, Disch is dissing you.) Me: "Wow. $300. I've been driving for 37 years and gotten towed a lot of times, and I don't think I've ever paid more than $120 for towing." Him: "Well, it is what it is." Me: "I'll give you $200, no more." Him: "Cash?" Me: "Yep." Him: "Okay." Use Disch with caution, and don't look like a sucker when you walk in. They'll tow your car, but they'll also take you for a ride.

The car needed a switch that is no longer available, so he built a switch for that. Now it works just fine. I have a Ford Explorer that had burnt up a serpentine belt. I towed my vehicle to this shop and asked the owner to replace the AC compressor because I believed that was causing the issue. They replaced the AC Compressor and then replaces several other parts without consulting me first. The belt kept sticking. Finally they noticed that the harmonic balancer pulley had separated from the rubber and the belt was running on the rubber. So I provided a new harmonic balancer (lower on Amazon than what I was quoted). Brought the car home to find that it was leaking coolant. Took the vehicle back to Oimoens to be diagnosed and they said that the radiator needed to be replaced. I provided a new radiator ($100 cheaper on Amazon than quoted price) dropped off the vehicle to Mark the owner. I call at the end of the day to see if the vehicle is fixed. I was told that the radiator was replaced, and when the vehicle was taken on a Test drive the engine overheated completely to the point of failure. I was told that my explorer had to be towed back to the shop. I come to the shop to take a look at the vehicle and talk to the owner. My engine is ruined and the owner wants to run more tests after he overheated my engine. After all this he still won't take any responsibility claiming that the car overheated while he took my car for a 6 mile drive "to get the excess air out of the system" and ruin my car. My car is now unusable and on top of all that he charged me $300 for the "services" he provided. I would not recommend taking your car to this shop.

My son on Feb. 6th 2026 at about 4:30am needed a tow as he ended up on the side of an on ramp (I do…read morenot say a ditch because it was not one). But he was about 10-15 feet from the side of the road. Called AAA and was set up with a tow truck company coming to his rescue (or so I thought). FLT took the response and well from there it was awful. First, took over an hour to get to him. Then once the driver got there he saw my sons ford fiesta (not much bigger than a matchbox car) and told him that he needed to use a "special equipment?" to get him out and that he needed to pay $642.01 before he could assist. I immediately called AAA and had someone on the phone along with my son and AAA received the update directly from my son. They advised at that time they couldn't do anything but that he could submit the bill back to AAA and they would "consider" if they would reimburse him. I needed my son out and safe, so I told him to pay it because we didn't know any better. My son took pictures of where he was and how the driver did not need to do anything special. FLT took advantage of my son and his need for assistance. And had I known better, I would have told him to tell the driver "no thank you" and just called another company to assist. But since we belong to AAA I figured we needed to do what was being instructed. Thank god AAA was on the phone when all this was happening. My son sent all the documentation to them and they refunded him fully! We have learned a big lesson!! I hope to never need this tow company again. Beware, they like to overcharge (probably because they saw a young kid and figured they could get away with it). So happy that AAA agreed!!
