I purchased a mattress, the next day, decided that I did not want it, they would not give me a refund (even though the mattress was never delivered), the owner or manager of the Arcata store was not reasonable and was very upset by my decision, told me there was a NO REFUND policy, then told me she was going to charge me a restocking fee, I asked her what that was, and she didn't know, then she told me that she gets charged for the credit card fees (since I put in on my AMX card), so I said, let me give the folks at AMX a call and see if they can get those fees waived, since I have not received any mattress at all, and it was only the next day (actually, it was the second day, because this woman was not in the store the day before, and she was the only one who could authorize a return). So I called AMX, and they were willing to give me a credit for the charges this woman wanted to impose, so I said fine and the woman then blurted out, that on top of the bank fees, that she wanted $50 in addition. I said fine, since AMX was going to cover that for me, during this whole process, the woman was getting more agitated and very hostile and the AMX customer support person could hear every word out of her mouth out. So this supervisor or owner, started to write me a check, and then during that, she got even more agitated, and slammed her check book closed, shoved it across the desk and said she was not going to give me any money, and to get out of her store! I was dumbfounded by her behavior grabbed my receipts that were on the table, and proceeded to leave the store. She yelled out after me that I should take the mattress protector (that I was returning) with me, and to never come back, like I would ever do any business with someone like this again?!
The customer support woman from AMX was still on the phone with me and could not believe her ears! We talked while I was in my car, right outside of the store, she called the store owner, and she was able to work out what we started to when she was writing a check. At least by that time, she knew what she was going to charge me, which was $57.
Another point to make is that AMX does not charge for swiping a credit, but this woman in Moore's Sleep world would not believe it, she was on the phone with her accountant, and asked, and was asking him/her to send that to her in writing, trying to dispute the fact that there are charges or not when doing a credit, while the AMX woman was assuring me they do not charge a fee for credits. Like that was not even something to worry about, since AMX and I were both already fine with her writing me a check.
Please reconsider ever doing business in such a hostile environment and person, I hope you find your mattress at any other local stores, and when I am ready to purchase one, it will not be from this place.
