Soapstone counters and stove backsplash by PCG
Tim D.

We had a difficult, drawn out kitchen remodel and by the time we got to countertops we were at our wits end. Sylvia got her crew out quickly to template and while it takes some time to fabricate, they were back in a couple weeks to install. Their work is very high quality and custom. We found the customer service to be responsive and when we had a very slight issue their resolution went above and beyond. We're doing a remodel on a rental property now and we will be using them for both kitchen and bathroom vanities. It's not cheap, it's not as fast as laminate but the quality remains long after the wait is over.

I walked in to the storefront in Eureka in mid December of 2020 to see if I could get a small piece of stone to top my wine bar, 12"x42 3/4". I met Silvia who assured me we could locate a good piece that would fit my dimensions, as I was giving her my contact info she told me that if I called her with my 209 area code she wouldn't answer because she is having personal issues with a 209 area code. Ok, strange, that is my business phone line, but no biggie, ill call you from my land line that meets the required 707 area code. Fast forward to three months later, I have yet to receive any proactive communication from Silvia, and have had to call weekly to check on the progress of this piece. In the Pacific Crest Grant mission statement it is clearly stated that there is no job too small or large. During my interactions with Pacific Crest Granite, Silvia in particular, I have been made to feel very small indeed. Silvia, I later came to discover was the owner when I asked if there was anyone else I could talk to about this erroneous delay. She finally told me on my phone call with her (March 16th 2021) that my project will not take precedence over the countertops, directly conflicting her mission statement. I called again today hoping the project was done, more excuses, the piece they cut is too cracked but she'd be happy to cut another and I could wait an undisclosed amount of time until they had time to finish it. I have chosen to move on with my life. I will find a piece of stone from ANYWHERE else in lieu of putting myself through that again. As a small business owner myself, Im pretty sure it's not a 'Best Practice' to keep pushing back a small job in the queue, in favor of newer bigger jobs that have come in the three months I have been patiently waiting for my project to be completed. We are in the process of remodeling our home and when it comes time in June 2021 to order our counter tops (a worthy job in Silvia's eyes?) we will not be bringing our business and hard earned money to her store.

We were greeted almost immediately as we walked in, a very friendly staff and overly helpful almost to a fault, pretty much every employee we encountered asked "if we needed any help" or "were we finding everything okay." Pretty much every gadget, gizmo and device you could imagine for your home as far as home furnishings is in this place, from auto fill candy dispensers to zircon encrusted tweezers. It's easy to drop $500+ in this store within minutes. From $800 floor sweepers, to $25 bath mats, $40 travel mugs and $80 waste paper baskets... it's definitely on the higher end of the consumer price point - we went in for some new dish towels and two new bath towels, we also added a matching bath mat, in under an hour and $140 bucks later we walked out... hope the supposed quality difference is worth the price increase and only time will tell. I guess it serves it's purpose. 2.5 Stars just another overpriced retail chain store - rounded down for the complete consumer overload. 00344

Bed, Bath & Beyond is indeed A-OK. Some stuff seems more expensive, but when you compare quality…read moreand pricing, it stacks up to the competition just fine. The problem is that they don't always have styles that fit my taste. I shop their sale section, and I never shop without a coupon. They usually accept a 20%-off-one-item for every item I have, and they even accept expired coupons. So I save them up and get what I need at a good price. Sure, I could pay less at Kmart, but I can usually get kitchen goods that last a little longer.

I waited years to post this review to see if I would feel better about it. I do not. Blaine Jr comes through and does a long winded presentation that makes you feel like the company will be professional. I needed my sunroom roof redone since it was leaking. In actuality, the whole sunroom probably needed to be replaced. The sunroom was switched from glass to plastic per my request. He told me during our long meeting that I would be able to discuss it more when the crew came in. I came home and they had already started and no discussion was had with me about anything. I figured they knew what they were doing so I just went with it. The next day I came home and there was double the amount of support beams that blocked out a good amount of sun. I found this odd as the plastic is significantly lighter than the glass that was previously there. I feel like he forgot he was using plastic and planned it for the glass. I paid for more wood that wasn't needed and the sunroom does not look as good with all the extra beams. It also started to leak within a couple months again and the crew had to come back out and fix it. They changed it up a little and added weather strip that looks forever to come in. I'm a few years out now and the sunroom is leaking again and every time I look at how many beams there are up there I'm upset again about the whole thing. I should have waited and replaced the entire sunroom and gone with someone else. On top of it, I felt like Blaine Jr was dismissive, condescending, and kind of a know it all. I had to request to not speak to him anymore and did all ongoing discussions with the lead instead. On a side note... the crew was very nice and did their best.
