Moore & Wright removed the 60-foot gingko biloba from our front yard using a method I didn't know existed. While other tree services will spend four or five hours removing a tree, M&W removed it in under an hour by lifting it straight up and sawing the base of the trunk. What a show! M&W also removed a large silver maple from our rear by sawing it into about seven sections. They used a boom truck (crane) to carry the large sections directly over our house. All the work was completed before lunch. All M&W management, administration, and labor were professional at all times. read more

My mom and dad who are retired needed a lot of tree trimming done. The owner was very communicative and patient which enabled me to arrange services for my parents even though I am traveling in and out from another state to help them. He was very patient going over the work to be done and the estimate. His crew worked very hard and did an excellent job cleaning up. My parents had not had their trees trimmed for close to 7 years and the property looks fantastic now, with so much more sun coming through and the canopy around the roof of the house trimmed back. We had a huge tree in our backyard that was threatening the house. I got a bunch of quotes from various companies I've used before. I called Moore and Wright to try a new company. Ed Moore came and gave us a quote inline with the other companies. He then asked if that was comparable to the other quotes. I said that it was so he offered to also take down another tree that needed to come down free. No charge. This tree would have cost probably 1500 to 2000 separately. They also threw in removing some storm damage from two other trees free. Since it was so much work, it was a two day job. The crew came on friday and did most of the work then came back on saturday and finished. Both days they were very nice. They cleaned everything up. They even cleaned our deck and roof which only had minor wood chips on them. I also love that they have a payment plan for big jobs. They are letting us pay over 3 months. Ed said they like to provide good service so they retain you as a customer. There are so many tree companies, it's nice to find one that goes the step beyond. read more

Great job by these guys. Showed up promptly for an inspection and quote. Job involved the removal of one large tree, the removal of a large limb from another, and extensive pruning of several others. The job was scheduled and completed within a week of the quote. The areas were difficult to access and required a crane working within tight spaces. The crew was professional and worked well together. Clean up top notch. All the right equipment and the team were obviously experienced and knew exactly how to work together to make it all happen. I was also impressed by the "extras" that the owner offered to throw in at no charge including: removing another medium size tree, trimming branches off other trees near the house, and cleaning up debris that was on our yard from past storms. Ed Moore was a no-show, and he didn't even bother calling. We had a 10:00am appointment with Ed Moore for estimating the removal of several large trees. I left work at 9:30am to meet him at the house. I called at 10:08am and asked where he was. His secretary, Maggie, said that he's on the way and that he should be there soon. I called again at 10:46am and asked where he was. Maggie said that she'd call him and check. She called me back at 10:50am and said that he got called by another customer, the Coast Guard, while he was on the way to me, so he got "detained" there. She assured me that he's on the way now. I would not recommend this company to anyone else if they can't even do the courtesy of calling to say that they'll be an hour late. read more

Wow what an Amazing company to work with. We had a huge tree down in the storm yesterday and they came out on the weekend (today) with an entire crew at the time they said they were coming. They were also very friendly and professional. They knew exactly how to handle a tree that was partly on our house and deck. The partner/owner even came out and was just as nice as his employees. After purchasing a house on a wooded lot earlier this year, I contacted Moore & Wright to remove one tree that was hanging over the house and look at the rest of my yard to identify any other problems that should be addressed. After inspecting the property, Mr. Moore recommended that I remove two dead trees and one other that would let more light in to the yard and help with some drainage issues. He also recommended pruning around power lines and grinding a leftover stump. I was very confident with Mr. Moore's recommendations and thought the price he quoted was very fair, especially considering that my lot - with low hanging power lines - would be tricky to navigate. I received an email from his office just hours after I met with him to confirm the estimate and set the work date. The office called the day before to confirm and the crew arrived on time the next day. There was a small army of people working to prep the area with layers of plywood (to protect the driveway and yard) and perform the work. They have great equipment which seemed to make the job run very efficiently. Within just a few hours, four large trees were removed, three stumps were ground and branches trimmed back. As I told Mr. Moore when he called to check in later in the day, everything just looked so much better! And they cleaned everything up very well - no dirt, no leftover twigs. Just a fantastic job. Ed Moore, Rick Wright, and their crews have effectively handled my tree and firewood needs for many years at three different home locations. This includes removing numerous trees (and a couple of monster trees) and a difficult removal of a major limb from a roof location in conjunction with an insurance job that required their heavy lift crane. They even provided arborist services for the repair of a cherished fruit tree that had a disease. They expertly removed and treated the infected area and used special resins and concrete to patch the hole. The tree is still thriving a decade later. There is no finer tree service in the tri-state area. On top of their expertise, timeliness, and exceptional value these fellows are both Veterans and heavily involved in supporting Veteran causes. These guys are truly exceptional in their service ethic. We needed a very tall diseased tree removed from our back yard. We got a fast, reasonable estimate and the work was scheduled immediately because of the danger of falling. What really impressed me was the care they took in saving the surrounding plants when they ground the stump. And the clean-up was amazing. A friend had recommend Moore & Wright as he had used them in the past. Something must have changed between then and now. They were supposed to come to give me an estimate on Monday and would email it to me that night. Tuesday morning I called as I had not received the estimate, and was told by Maggie that they would be out that day to look and I should have the estimate that night. Come Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning all the same. I was told again Friday morning that someone would be out today no matter what. I told them at this point don't bother. If I can't even get an estimate in a week, not sure how long it would actually take them to do the work or what the quality of work would be. What is the most frustrating part of this, they never called to reschedule or anything. read more

They know their business, having done it for a long time, but their cost to remove a tree was high and they are not very respectful of landscaping. Instead of offering to work around the landscaping, they said it would have to be removed then replanted (by us), or destroyed (by their vehicles and equipment). I also could not get them to say when they would do the work, since I wanted to be at home when they did it. My insurance company told me to look for another firm that would use smaller equipment and also perform some of the work by hand instead of bringing in huge vehicles. I did, and this firm's price was still considerably lower than M&W. They also came several weeks earlier than M&W said it would be available. read more
