This is the worst place I've ever been to they are crooks and thieves these people never fixed our car when we left their shop thinking that our car was fixed it barely got across the street we we had to pull over at crest lake park in Clearwater and call them that our car broke down the manager said if she was a manager accused us of sending our car to another auto shop which was a lie it had been at their shop all the time and we had to spend the night at the park because all shops were closed the next day we had to send our car to another auto shop and they were more expensive my son who is special needs had to pay the repairs from his tip money he saved all year I wouldn't send a dog any where in Clearwater when it comes to auto repair no where especially Moon light Automotive. read more

I had a bad experience with another shop where I was charged over $1000 for repairs and they never fixed the problem. I asked my local trusted AAMCO dealer for a reputable shop that they could recommend and without hesitation, they said Moonlight Autoworks on Turner St. Needless to say I went there and Keith and company fixed this ongoing intermittent problem that day and the labor charge was only $120.34. dropped the car off Sunday night to come back Wednesday to start the car for them because they didn't know how or don't even know if they even tried. Let me break it down for you. Sunday night dropped off the car all the normal stuff, just to get a call to tell us that the cars starter was bad but we got the car started and drove it there just like the past 2 weeks we've had the car... i explain that the cars starter is perfectly fine and that he can just throw the jump pack that i left in the backseat to start it, two days go by and we don't hear a word from them and we drive by the car to see that it's still sitting in the same spot. We eventually end up calling to ask for any update just to hear that they haven't touched it because the "starter was bad" and was assuming that a auto part store told us the starter was good when i got it tested by a nissan tech mate. Then we proceed to tell him that if we come by to start the car what is going to happen then? He tells us that he'll pull it right into the bay if we did, so we drive over there, ended up getting the car started just for him to tell us that there isn't a bay open to pull the car in and couldn't even look at us in the face. i would say that's pretty embarrassing. this isn't the first time they've screwed up but i'm not even going to get into that. I've referred many people to this place and have gave them plenty of business just to get screwed over in the end. Wouldn't recommend anymore. got the car back and it starts up perfectly as well. then again i will say there is a few people that work there that are good, Keith ended up taking over and helping us out in the end even though it was already not going good props to him. read more

I have went to moonlight auto for several years and have taken several vehicles and I've refer several people to them. I needed a motor put in my 2003 dodge ram. I was told $1200. I delivered the motor and in about 4 days later I was told it is done but they had to ch the oil pan intake manifold exhaust manifold and studs and a Coolant hose. $2100. About a week later the oil gage was low so I checked it and added 2 1/2 quarts. I checked the coolant and added 2 gallons. I noticed a puddle of oil where I parked my truck and took it back to moonlight and was told that the rear main and the timing cover was leaking. I was told it would cost $1000 to fix. I as why the rear main seal wasn't changed upon installation and was told that isn't something they normally do. He said the motor should be under warranty where I b it. I called them and was told that the motor had stickers on that state to replace the seal. I was told that THEY would replace the seals for $300 so I said okay. 3 days later I was sent pictures of 2 missing oil pan bolts and a valve cover with a crack in and told that the coolant leak was a result of a busted heater core. When I took the valve cover and pict back to moonlight i was told there is no way that happened in his shop. I'm out a total of $3300 for installation of a motor. I thought with all the money I spent at moonlight they would of made it right but they didn't. I haven't heard back from them. I WON'T be back. Thank you for your service read more

I would give 10 Stars if I could!!! If you have any issues with your automobile go to Moonlight. Pete was the most honest awesome person I've ever worked with. I went to another reputable chain tire shop and they wanted to charge me $900 to do work that wasn't even needed. Pete showed me exactly what was wrong with my vehicle and did the work for half the price. The whole staff there was so friendly and trustworthy. I never go out of my way to post reviews but I had to for this establishment because they were so honest and went above and beyond to help me. Thanks again Pete and everyone at Moonlight. I recently interacted with Moonlight Automotive on behalf of my nephew who lives nearby in Clearwater. They diagnosed and gave me the best course of action in a very professional manner. The engine was done and he let me know that there was a recall on this engine by Kia. He communicated with me twice in an extremely short amount of time and was professional and courteous. Although they won't be working on the car, they took the time to look into solutions and give advice. Moonlight did not charge me for the time spent at all. Excellent Service today on a tight deadline! I am on vacation. Minivan would not start this morning. Heading home at 10am tomorrow. Had my car towed to Moonlight with hope they could help me. I have taken our cars to Moonlight Auto for issues ranging from simple oil changes to more extensive fixes. I have never been disappointed and always left feeling satisfied. They are the sweetest, and professional people you will EVER meet in the auto repair industry. Took my Ford Edge in today as the battery had died twice. We had replaced battery on our own but still had a few issues. They completely tested the alternator, starter and battery. They even tested the old battery. Found out it was corrosion built up on the terminal, which they cleaned. They did all this for FREE! Other shops charge upwards of $100.00 for this testing. It's such a comforting feeling to know you can trust your car to an honest and helpful repair shop. We recommend them to everyone! Love you guys!!! read more

Don't waste ur time....had my car in there 4 times and they could not figure out the deal....they fixed things that didn't need to be fixed took the car somewhere else after they couldn't figure out the problem and they were completely off track would never go there again and would highly recommend either going to the dealership or to not some fly-by-night place read more

Absolute rip off of a company. Two years ago I took my car in because the A/C was not working. They replaced the compressor, condenser, and did an evac and recharge. Total came to $1176.86. Two years later and the A/C went out again. Started making the same noise that it was making just before the A/C went out last time. Took it to a place close by my house and they informed me that I would need to have my compressor and condenser replaced and that most likely what happened is that the last place I took it to which was Moonlight Auto failed to flush the system which caused the same issues to occur again. I called Moonlight and they told me that the parts only have a 1-year warranty. When I asked about flushing the system Amy from Moonlight simply said "you don't need to flush the system". When I asked to speak to the manager she just told me that it was her husband and that he's just going to tell me the same thing. After some back and forth bickering she hung up on me. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE. Read reviews and take it to a place that won't slap you around. read more

I have been using Moonlight automotive for over a year and they are the best automotive repair business I have ever dealt with in my 50 years of driving. The staff are very friendly and courteous. They answer all of my questions completely and without any annoyance and I ask a lot, being female,having no knowledge of cars but wanting to understand. They take their time diagnosing the problem and don't do anything that isn't needed. Their prices are lower than other shops in my area too and I no longer dread having to take my 22 year old car in for repairs. I know I will get a fair price. When I wanted to find out if a used car for sale was worth the price, Moonlight went over it thoroughly, told me what repairs the car needed and what they would offer for it. There was no charge for this. When I wanted to know if my old but very reliable car was worth investing in a new paint job, they went over that car thoroughly, took into consideration my driving habits and gave me an evaluation, again at no charge. I kept the car, got it painted and now Moonlight is the only shop I will go to. read more

I recently moved to Clearwater and needed and oil change. I went to another shop and was told that I needed my transmission flushed and it would be $70. I declined that service. A couple of days later my check engine light came on. Also I pulled part of the undercarriage of my car completely off on a parking block. I figured I was going to have to accept that I'd probably end up spending a couple hundred to get everything taken care of. I was scared of getting ripped off, so I hit yelp up and found Moonlight. I went in and they immediately began checking my car over. It was time for another oil and filter change, and I needed my tires rotated, but I had lock nuts on two of them and no key to remove them. After going over the car, they told me there was nothing wrong with it outside of the need for my oil and filter change! They performed that service, got the lock nuts off and rotated my tires, AND they reattached the piece that had fallen off. I legit spent around $60!!!! They didn't try to get me to pay for a bunch of services that I didn't need and took excellent care of my car for exponentially cheaper than anywhere else I've ever been. They had an amazon selection of magazines in the comfortable waiting area and were polite and professional. This will be the ONLY place I ever go to in Clearwater for my auto needs. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for good service from an honest place. read more

This is probably the nicest and most honest automotive company in Clearwater, not only do they do good work as fast as possible but they don't try to rip you off like so many out there, being a woman almost every auto repair shop I ever walked in to they would say a list of things I need because they know I'm an easy target I have no auto knowledge, this company threw me for a loop, they fixed what I needed without throwing all those automotive terms at me making my head spin, and when my back was up against the wall needing my car in an hour they FIXED IT IN MY TIME FRAME so I didn't have to rent a car for that night, highly recommend and will use for all my auto needs. read more

It's hard to find a auto shop that you don't feel like they're going to rip you off because your a women. It was a great experience here. They're honest and don't try to sell you what you don't need when you come in for a simple oil change even when I told them I thought I needed new brakes, they checked them and told me I didn't need them replaced for a while.
